Kate and I had a truly wonderful anniversary dinner at Joe’s Seafood, Prime Steak & Stone Crab. What impressed me most was how personal the experience felt, particularly considering how incredibly busy the restaurant was. Even on a Sunday evening, the dining room was packed, yet from the moment we arrived we felt genuinely looked after. We were seated on time at a wonderful table, the team was aware that we were celebrating our anniversary, and seemingly everyone who came to our table took a moment to congratulate us. That level of recognition and attention in a restaurant serving several hundred guests in an evening is extremely impressive. The atmosphere was fantastic — classic, old-school Chicago in the best possible way, from the energy of the room to the music and overall character of the restaurant. Our server was excellent, and the entire service team took very good care of us. In a restaurant operating at this kind of volume, service may naturally be a little less formal or choreographed at moments than in a small fine-dining room, but that is hardly a criticism. What matters is that the service was attentive, warm, efficient and personal throughout the evening. And, of course, the food was outstanding. From the maître d’ and host team who welcomed us and gave us such a great table, to our server and everyone who looked after us throughout dinner, the entire team made our anniversary feel special. Joe’s is certainly not an inexpensive evening out, but based on the quality of the food, the atmosphere and, most importantly, the way we were treated, it was absolutely worth it. Thank you to the entire team for giving Kate and me such a memorable anniversary evening. We will remember it very fondly.

We sat on the oyster bar side for lunch. So much fun. Food was excellent. Service was 10+. Highly recommended.
