A nice find among
the food was good, at a great price for london - especially covent garden.
interesting menu, and intriguing cocktails (loved the drinks).
Sadly the air conditioning was broken and we were a party of 10 and in general there were a fair few people in the restaurant we were sweltering - can only imagine how hard it was for the staff in the kitchen and the waiters running about.
But had a lovely meal as a whole and would come again.
Good food - not great service ... place was quiet quiet but they kept rushing us
Went on a Monday, good atmosphere. Had pasta that was on the bland side, it was just a veggie tomato pasta. Other people’s food on the table looked decent. Got a discount with the tastecard so made it great value.
Everything was average.
Everyone’s food was good, piping hot and not over priced. Servers weren’t all attentive and we needed to go over to the bar to get drinks initially as we’d been left too long with the menus. We paid in cash for those drinks, but they appeared on the bill at the end of the night. It is a very busy restaurant and I think a couple of extra staff and some more training would make this a great place.
There were various minor glitches: they had no record of our OpenTable reservation, a request for bread without olive oil and rosemary (for children) took a while to be acted upon and we were again given bread with oil and rosemary, children's burgers were overdone. But we had a good time, two diners enjoyed their salads and the waitress was charming and apologetic and it was reasonable value.
Loved the pasta there
The kind of place you take your teenage kids and their friends on a birthday. At £30 a head (starter, main, drinks) the food comes no where close to bring worth it. Happy they were able to seat 10 of us with a few days in advance, but was expecting a lot more for an average priced place in Central London.
Food was ok, service was not great, took a long time and she didn't want to serve.
We used to come here almost weekly when we worked in the area. It has since become incredibly overpriced for what it is. Great format for a group gathering but be prepared to pay more than you expect. Shame as we do like the place.
We had a really nice meal on Saturday night. Food was excellent but we found our waitress a bit grumpy. Maybe she was having a bad day so we'll excuse her and it wont stop us going back! On another note, we has espresso martinis which were very small and didnt reach the rim of the glass, make them a bit bigger!
Ordered two pizzas, they came with little topping , more dough than meat or source . Ordered a desert which was like rubber. Service ok but very noisy place
Very young crowd, noisy. good with kids
Overpriced and uninspiring
Good place for quick tasty food
They used to do loads of pizzas and really unusual toppings but they’ve reduced their menus and added new things like burgers which is a shame in my opinion
However still tasty
Great for groups, with a good selection of dishes to suit most people’s tastes at affordable prices in a great central location.
The service was super and the children menu was good value, plus the pizzas were fantastic. The pizza options are different to your standard Italian options and represent food themes from different countries. Great toppings.
The service was ok. Not too busy, but quite noisy location. The pizza was not made from fresh ingredients. The bottom was hard and flat like a tortilla, and the cheese was nothing special.
The kids burger was ok. But the french fries was full of oil and tasted old.
We went here for my daughter's birthday, along with 7 of her friends.
When we entered, we were not advised that there was no heating, but could not rearrange, given the number of us.
We were freezing cold the whole way through and sitting in our coats.
The restaurant was not busy and we still had to wait for service on a number of occasions.
One staff number could not understand English and it therefore took more than 3 times to obtain an additional order.
The restaurant was not busy, we were sat close to the door though which was drafty and my son complained he was cold, we should've moved. The service was slow, we waited ages for olives and had to ask twice, my son was really hungry and they didn't have any concept of how difficult it is with a hungry child, he just wanted his pizza. The food took ages as well, which was strange as it's a massive restaurant but was pretty empty. My burger and chips was okay, my sons pizza wasn't that good, not much topping. It was all rather mediocre.
Australian friends in London for a short time. Took them to fire and stone. Brilliant choice. Excellent service , food superb. Only downside room very echoey and noisy so sometimes difficult to chat properly.
The reservations system that they have for big groups for Christmas dinners is just horrendous. It is not enough to book through Open Table, you have to call them (which they do not mention at all in Open Table, it looks like the reservation is made with no problems), then they send you a link where you have to pay 5 GBP deposit per person to confirm the table (Which was 80 in total for us, 16 people), then you have to specifically pre-order from a set Christmas menu, 2 or 3 courses, with very little choice (Imagine organising that for 16 people!); then you´ll have to call back so you can go through another link to do the preorder of all the plates yourself (three courses x 16 people, A JOKE), and then call again if you have any allergies because the system for pre-ordering doesn´t admit any notes or comments. Also, mention that the terms and conditions are very confusing and not clear at all in the terms. It literally took 5-6 hours and a few calls to the restaurant to do this reservation, it is ridiculous.
There, the service was quite alright except for the fact that the waitresses were clearly overworked and stressed, although quite nice and helpful to us in general. The food was processed and quite a poor quality. On top of that, the final bill was more than 600 pounds... Definitely not coming back to this place and not reccommending it to anybody.
It's a big space to fill, so it's rather strange that when you are seated they bunch everyone up together.
My sister and I ordered Pasta, something I wouldn't do again. The portions were SMALL and they were also 'luke-warm'. We had to keep calling over the waitress for a spoon and to remind her we were waiting for our drinks. It was a Thursday evening, but the restaurant wasn't that busy.
I won't be eating at Fire and Stone again.
Overall food was great. Beware of the pepperoni pizza on children’s menu. The staff prewarned us the pepperoni is spicy and had received some complaints in the past but we thought maybe it’s not that spicy as our children usually have pepperoni but it was then proven to be very spicy even for adults. Why serve spicy hot pizza to children knowingly?
Sometimes forget this place is round the corner, but always delivers an easy atmosphere, really good staff, and handmade food. Big space and a bit packed in but food was quick and plentiful. Would recommend for an informal catch up.
Mediocre food, terrible, lazy service
Excellent experience overall - lots of variety on the menu, even for my two vegetarian daughters. The service was great, very friendly and helpful and the food came quite quickly. Presentation of the food was excellent, everything looked delicious and freshly prepared and the taste didn’t disappoint either. I only marked the rating down slightly, because the salted caramel and choc cheesecake was just too salty! I like salt, but this was too much and we didn’t finish it, which was a shame as the rest of it was divine!!
Very full menu, basic options and interesting options. Great value for money in a buzzing atmosphere. Overall very good for a casual bite to eat
Not up to previous standards, service slow, pizza bases not crisp, felt like they had been left on the side rather than served promptly
Meeting of ole friends
A nice tasty meal for our family, although the pizza bases were really crispy - but NOT the "thin & crispy". The outside half-inch was inedible, but great other than that.
Definitely seems to have slipped on quality. Air con was broken which made it very humid and uncomfortable.
Food was nice, the staff were very friendly. Only issues is the service charge each time you ask for a drink.
Great service, accommodated our last minute change to put our reservation back 30mins, varied choice and something different to pizzas
Great thin crust pizza. Topping choices were delicious. Salad beforehand was perfect size and tasty.
Good for quick bite before the theatre.
A really relaxed and enjoyable evening family dinner. Service was very good, and all our dishes were delicious. A thoroughly good evening.
Mediocre food, poor service
Good food at reasonable prices. It is a bit loud for quiet conversation so I recommend it for groups.
Had a bit of wait for our table that had been booked for a while ven though there was a lot of empty tables.
Food when we got it was good and our waitress was very pleasant
