Fortnum & Mason - Wine Bar
The Wine Bar boasts an extensive wine list made up of a choice of 107 wines by the glass.
Spoilt for choice with wine flights, food pairing, charcuterie, an amazing cheese board & freshly shucked oysters this is the decadent spot to catch up with friends or loved ones.
Lovely atmospheric location for a glass of wine and some light bites.
Poor choice of food, did not like the Prosecco altenative.
Great setting, perfect execution. Thank you for a wonderful time.
A perfect place to meet for lunch, relaxed and welcoming. The three dishes that we had, padron peppers, smoked salmon and endive with goats cheese were all well-presented and delicious. The wine was extensive and the waiter was on hand to give advice. Recommended in all respects.
Beautiful, perfect for our long overdue girlie meet up!
Exquisite champagne and wines (loved our Nyetimber)
with gorgeous charcuterie in a perfect setting .
A welcome oasis from the christmas shopping hordes in the store. Small plates, well-served, with a great choice of wine (and why not, in that department of F&M).
I’ve been many times and I’ve never been let down! Always good service and the food, as one would expect from F&M, is delicious!
Great for wine and a bite, we popped in before the royal academy on a Friday night! Super busy but we had booked
Pre Christmas visit - shopping then late lunch. Relaxing and unpretentious, the wine bar is a definite ‘return to’ venue!
Great wines and great food! We‘ll go again!
An oasis of calm away from the busy shop. Excellent choice of wines at very good value.
Delicious Welsh rarebit and padron peppers made for a delicious light lunch. Courteous staff and all in all a lovely spot for lunch.
Always a friendly welcome , although we only come once a year at Christmas , the Head Waiter always remembers us !
If we lived nearer would definitely come more often.
Good value for money.
Been here a few times and had a lovely time each time but this time was different.
Staff weren’t as attentive - although the lady who ended up with us and cleared the plates was really nice.
Music was horribly loud and we had to talk so loud over it.
Just a shame as it was first time for my mum visiting and I’m not sure we would return.
mmm, it was very noisy.... and the tables are too close together ... the rest was very good
I’ve been here on a number of occasions and was really disappointed with the service on Friday.
Waiting over 15 minutes to get served a glass of wine is unacceptable. We could see the glasses waiting at the bar, but serving staff very disorganised.
Another lovely lunch but sadly the bar is so busy due to Christmas shoppers. You must book in advance for a lunchtime slot.
Very good as usual
Our table was booked for 1230. On entering the Wine Bar we were taken to our table immediately. The restaurant was very very busy and there was a real buzz about the place. Our order was taken very quickly and the two glasses of wine we ordered were brought to us within 5 minutes. That was the only good thing about the service during our visit. Twenty minutes wait for food after the wine. Was served. We were never informed when our order was taken that there would be a wait for food nor did our server attempt to let us know about this during the waiting time. We ordered three items - Artisan bread and tapenade, duck terrine and a piece of Lanark blue cheese and crackers. The bread duly arrived after 20 minutes but not the other two items! After the bread was finished we then waited another 20 minutes for the other 2 items to arrive. When we asked the server she did apologise and within minutes the other items appeared. They then also tried to bring out another portion of the Arisan bread and we informed the waiter that we had already received that part of the order, which he duly apologised for and took away. During our visit I witnessed wrong orders being taken to customers and customers not receiving the correct orders. In my opinion the poor staff were run off their feet as the place was far too busy and they could not cope with the volume of customers they had. Our server apologised to us for the delay in receiving our food when we asked for our bill which was decent of her,but if a restaurant cannot cope with the volume of customers then surely the management should have stepped in and perhaps put a cap on the amount of customers they would let in at a given point. I have used the Wine Bar on several occasions and have always found everything to be spot on. Not on this occasion. We were very disappointed.
Great atmosphere, lovely wine selection and the food is on point to compliment the wine. The smoked salmon is a must!
We have visited on several occasions and always like what is offered and the way in which it is done.
It was lovely in every way. The only thing that would have made it even better would have been much quieter, less insistent background music. Thank you to all staff involved.
Always a good stopping off place after a hard day. Wines are good quality and staff are friendly and knowledgeable.
Food was great and a really nice setting, but service was a bit lacking. We really didn’t like being told we were too early arriving at 11.57 for a 12.00 booking.
First time here. A nice bar to have a drink. Would go back.
This is the second time we have visited the wine bar for a birthday celebration. It didn't disappoint, it was fabulous. The service is excellent, the food is amazing. It's small ish so intimate but busy enough that it was a good atmosphere. I think the best thing we have learned form this second visit is that it isn't just a treat or celebration place, its reasonably priced enough that you can get amazing food and a glass of wine for not a lot at all - probably no more then you'd spend elsewhere. We love the style of small plates and just ordering 6/7 and sharing - its perfectly relaxed and casual but with a sense of decadence all wrapped in to one. We love it - you have to try it!
A great place to enjoy a fine bottle of wine and a charcuterie and cheese platter. Great service and a fine setting. Really enjoyed the time we spent here and will definitely return in the future. Will also make sure we're commend this place to our friends and family.
Power cut and closed so very inconvenient to find another venue for pre event drink. Why no back up generator?
Very disappointed travelled from the North West for 50th celebration. Arrived at Fortnums to be told it was shut due to power cut.
No telephone call to try and stop us traveling to the venue. I accept problems happen but when booking telephone number is given so at the very least you would expect someone to try and call you.
Always excellent. Superb food and wine. Ask for advice on wine and you will be treated to the best wines, with a full explanation of where they are produced. The staff may have the knowledge but it is shared in a friendly and unstuffy way. The best place in London to chill over a glass of wine. So good I visited the next day.
Excellent in all respects. Thoroughly enjoyable evening.
Very enjoyable hour and half with a wine flight each and a tray of cheese. Lovely!
We arrived 20 mins late, but our table was still available, staff were amazing and nothing was too much trouble
Excellent service and great quality food and drink as always.
Thoroughly enjoyable experience. Excellent service and food was delicious.
We ordered the mini cheeseburgers with artisan bread & olive tapenade plus a selection of cheeses.
Atmosphere early evening (17.30) was lively but not too noisy.
Good selection of drinks both alcoholic and non alcoholic . We especially liked the sparking tea.
Will definitely visit again. Highly recommended.
As always a great gem within Fortnum & Mason, the service and quality of choice was good.
Wonderful place to while away a couple of hours
Amazing wine list!
Perfect food xx
I would normally have given Fortnum's wine bar five stars but on my last visit it did not maintain the normal five star quality, which was a pity as I had a guest. The food was good but not excellent like previous times and the ambience was quiet rather than the buzzy atmosphere it usually enjoys. May be because we were there at lunchtime.
A great place on a good day when everything is operating at its best.
It was a treat for our wedding anniversary to visit the wine bar. The staff were friendly, polite and knowledgeable, they were the perfect hosts from the moment we arrived. Their recommendations for wine and food were superb, my wife thoroughly enjoyed her glass(es) of Muscadet. Great touch with the piece of cake too , made our visit very special. Thank you for looking after us do well.
I was touched by the kindness of the staff. The food was perfect. I want to come back.
My favourite spot in central London to grab a glass of wine. Vast selection by the glass and lovely atmosphere
