Enjoyed meal immensely
Consistently lovely - and the lunch deal is a steal.
Great service. Even better space in which to eat. Very friendly staff. Great value food.
An exceptional restaurant with high level service. A lovely bar to enjoy a drink whilst waiting for your party to arrive with knowledgeable staff. Incredible food choices served impeccably by attentive staff who are happy to help (or not if you like quieter privacy) the surroundings are comfortable and modern with clean fresh rest rooms. The pricing is fair and refreshing. I can't recommend this place enough great for any catch up or event. I've never had a bad experience here.
The food was good enough, but nothing I couldn't cook at home quite easily (Egg en crocotte starter, Seafood risotto) - the risotto had lots of small pieces of crunchy shell in it. Menu pris fixe. Service was good; the jewel in their crown is the beautiful, large, airy dining room
The service here is very friendly, particularly the sommelier. Spoilt for choice - wanted to order lots of things from the menu. The sea bream was very flavourful and the truffles with coffee were exceptional.
This was our third visit to Fredericks and it didn't disappoint. Staff were attentive, friendly, competent and welcoming, food was excellent all round, the salmon and avocado tartare was amazing! Sommelier was fantastic, friendly and attentive, the atmosphere was lovely, enough noise to keep the restaurant humming but not too loud. The whole evening was great and I would thoroughly recommend it to anyone who hasn't had the experience yet.
My first visit to Frederick's and definitely not my last. A 6pm booking enabled us to have the pre theatre menu which is fantastic value. First impressions were excellent, the bar area is classy and welcoming. The restaurant area is beautiful, tables generously spaced from one another too. The service was absolutely top notch, the best I can recall receiving in a long time, super polite, ever attentive, friendly and efficient. Water topped up throughout, wine topped up when needed, extra bread offered. Ambience was lovely and classy. Food was fantastic too. It's a huge recommend from me.
An amazing experience. Food was fabulous. Staff were outstanding. Would highly recommend and will be returning.
Wonderful service as usual. Food was great. Was a bit chilly in there but that didn’t stop us having a nice time
Great service and wonderful menu, high quality and worked well for a business lunch for 8.
Lovely pre-theatre dinner earlier this week. Staff were great and especially kind in helping my 90-year-old mum with mobility. The food was lovely. Great vibe.
This is absolutely my most favourite restaurant in Islington. The menu is always varied and the food is fresh and delicious. The choice of wines is also excellent, and the sommeller very knowledgeable.
I love the garden dining room, the tables are well spaced and beautifully appointed.
The service is invariably attentive and immaculate. I am very impressed that the staff remembered my gluten sensitivity.
The short lunch/early dinner menu is very impressive and the suggested wines always reliable.
Super place for lunch date celebrations. Service exemplary. Food consistently high standards and good wine selection. Always feels a bit special. Highly recommended.
We had an absolutely wonderful evening everything was perfect from the food to the service. Would throughly recommend Fredericks to anyone
Perfect destination for a pre-theatre lunch. The set menu was great value for money and everything we had was delicious, fresh and beautifully cooked. The staff were attentive without being intrusive. Complimentary bread was freshly baked and generously offered.
When we were sat down at the table, the waitress handed us the menu with no hello or welcome and the staff pretty much ignored us for the rest of the evening. The parfait was fridge cold which wasn’t too pleasant. The interior and atmosphere were great and the barman very friendly- such a shame to be let down by the waiting staff.
We were very pleased last week, service very good but not too' in your face' food excellent
As we had the set menu it was very good vfm, thought the usual menu was a bit expensive so pleased to see the other option.
Perfect atmosphere and food as good as it was 20 years ago never disappoints - highly recommend
Great good, lovely location, and awesome staff. Such a lovely place to have just down the road!
Food as usual was excellent and service was faultless
Simply sensational! Great service, free, welcoming and knowledgeable. Stunning food at a fair price. Lovely ambience and setting.
good value as ever, hake for lunch again, too good not to repeat! lovely staff
Great place for a peaceful lunch with very helpful staff and very well presented food
An oasis of calm and professional cool, Fredericks never disappoints. Our lunch for five friends enjoyed superbly unobtrusive and expert service, incredibly priced (£20 a bottle) fine Gaillac well-chilled white wine from a prize-winning vigneron, and delightful food that arrived at always just the right time. We are SO fortunate to have this superb restaurant still absolutely committed to its first ideals.
Food was good but not spectacular, I'm very happy to eat there again and will do. Their wine suggestions were excellent.
Had the pre theatre menu. All of us enjoyed our choices of the2 course menu. Our friends had never been before and they were delighted to make the discovery.
All was perfect especially the coq au vin. Such a great staff team - always so welcoming.
I love this place! It was a quiet early monday lunch time and only few tables were occupied in the beginning. My friend decided to pause before the meal to prey (which was a silent pause without any movements). So we seated quietly for a minute without touching food. Then I notice that three waiters froze staring at us... If personnel could be a little bit more discreet and not stare at people that would help!
Great space, excellent quiet acoustics and good food
Came to fredericks for a special celebration and were treated really well by friendly helpful staff. The menu was varied and interesting and food was incredibly tasty. Wine selection was spot on! When my main course came to the table cold it was replaced without any fuss. However it wasn’t properly hot second time around but at that stage I was too hungry to complain again!!! Not sure why this happened but not the end of the world. Overall we had a very enjoyable evening. We will definitely be back in the future.
We were returning to Frederick's for our wedding anniversary, having celebrated a dinner there with friends two years ago. If anything, our experience this year was better than it was then, with a proper vegetarian menu on offer and sufficient space between the tables that we didn't feel the all-too-common sense these days of being crammed in to maximise the cover count. The staff were clearly busy but knew how to optimise their time at individual tables, and the work of the kitchen in setting out a most enjoyable meal was extremely impressive.
After meeting my friend in London for many years we came upon Fredericks by accident. We loved it for the ambience, food & service & have kept going back over the years. It never disappoints it’s a little gem that I hope will keep going. I highly recommend.
Great service and lovely restaurant and bar.......
I am a regular visitor to Frederick's and have a consistently fabulous experience. Staff are warm, friendly and professional. The food is delicious and good value. The ambience in the restaurant is buzzy but tables are at a distance such that you still feel that you have privacy. It's a family run restaurant and this is reflected in their approach to customers: always with energy and interest and lots of staff who have been there for a while and who haven't lost their enthusiasm to get it right!! I would highly recommend.
