Friends is nestled in a 500 year old Tudor building on historic Pinner High Street. Our house may be old but our culinary heart is very much of today. We serve the very best of British and French cuisine
Seared scallops, parsnip puree, black pudding crumble, crispy bacon, truffle foam
Citrus cured salmon with avocado puree, red radish, caviar and dill
Scottish Haggis Cake
Pan-fried haggis cake, soft poached duck egg, whiskey sauce, pancetta
Ambiance is great with excellent service and the food!!!!! —— the quality is fantastic and maintains a level unsurpassed
Excellent venue for a 102 octogenarian birthday celebration. Due to covid it was quiet which was perfect so hearing was no issue . Food was delicious , service excellent
this is a great Restaurant for both couples and larger parties food great service great as well
This was a special French sampling menu including a separate wine for each course, and was excellent -- food, presentation, wine selection and service.
Lovely restaurant where the food is fantastic. A little bit cosy downstairs with a large table of guests behind so a bit of a squeeze to get past with the food. I kept getting knocked. But would still totally recommend it.
Lovely restaurant with delicious food and very attentive service ! Would definitely come again
We deliberately chose day prior to Valentines day.
Very wise choice! Great atmosphere, attentive service, fine food, in a Restaurant we recommend for a super evening out. Look forward to telling our friends of 'nice Restaurant in a special village - Pinner.
Stelian cooks exceptional and lovely looking dishes, which taste great. I certainly recommend his food.
Great food as always but its a little awkward here because the food is lovely and worthy of a rosette but the service does not match up. Shame
This was a birthday meal for my girlfriend. Couldn’t fault any of the food so let’s just say there was nothing left on the plates! Excellent service too
A beautiful little restaurant with delicious food and excellent service. Highly recommended for a special lunch!
Had a lovely time in a lovely unique restaurant, the waitress kept bugging us a little too often, other than that, all good, really enjoyed it!
Excellent meal. Food very good and interesting menu. Only small complaint , service was not as it should be. We had to ask for our wine several times before it arrived as did other tables . Otherwise a lovely evening.
Fantastic Christmas Day and new year - lovely food, lovely staff - overall excellent
15 of us went to Friends last Sunday for a lunch for my mums 80th birthday. We were lucky enough to have the room upstairs to ourselves and the tables were laid out in a U so we could all see each other. From start to finish our experience was wonderful, Maria and her staff were so friendly and welcoming and Maria had gone to the trouble of getting a helium balloon and 80 sparkles on the table. The food and service were amazing and we couldn’t fault anything. Thank you Maria for everything including mums birthday plate we all thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.
Friendly service, the food was outstanding and the atmosphere was superb. I will be visiting again and soon.
The staff were all charming, Maria was particularly helpful. There were just not enough staff serving. And those who were had to go up and down those steep steps for every course, every drink, every extra request
Excellent food and excellent service. Staff very accommodating during a busy Christmas lunch service. Thoroughly enjoyed the experience.
I wanted to book for Christmas Eve, thinking that the £65 cost would be justified by the Christmas ambience, as I have been to Friends before and expect good food. I tried to book - through Open Table - for dinner, but the latest I could get was 5pm. It turned out that the absence of later bookings was because 5pm was a last sitting for the day, a sort of very late lunch. There were two tables occupied out of around five in the downstairs room, and the atmosphere was not really Christmassy at all.
The food was pretty good overall, the highlight being the bread and butter pudding, but the chocolate dessert was very heavy, and one starter contained a very undercooked duck egg that had to be sent back (and returned with minimal apology). So even the addition of a glass of prosecco, a small amuse-bouche, and pretty rubbish crackers couldn't really justify the price tag for me.
So I will go to Friends again, because I think it has generally high standards, but will be a bit more circumspect about booking over the holiday period.
Service very slow, not very good, never asked if we needed anything, we had to keep calling them. The fact we were charged £10 for service was not worth it. Food was very good, drinks expensive, £10 for a glass of merlot!!
The second time I’ve been to this restaurant, having lived in the area since the 80’s.
I can’t actually say that anything was poor or badly presented but it just wasn’t terribly exciting or innovative.
As far as ambience is concerned ... it’s a pleasant enough setting filled, mainly, with ladies who lunch.
Haven't been to this place for over a year because of poor service and average food but we decided to give it another go thinking it might have improved. It hasn't! Service extremely slow. No matching wine glasses on the table. Plates not cleared away between courses. Also, normally you are asked at the end of the meal if you enjoyed it - no-one said anything. I did complain about overcooked food but they didn't seem to be interested. We will not be returning which is a shame as it used to be good a few years ago.
We had a lovely evening and it was good to see a good English wine on the menu
We haven’t been to Friends for quite a long time. And we’ve missed out - it was superb. Good service and great food - and a nice little touch when they bought out a lovely birthday slate...we definite won’t leave it as long next time
Friends is a hidden gem. Definitely fine dining and perfect for a special occasion. The service and atmosphere was great. As a vegatrrian it was great to have multiple starter options. The mains was limited to 1 option but a filling portion. My partner really enjoyed the non veg options.
A great little restaurant - what you call a 'real' restaurant - located in a lovely village. We thoroughly enjoyed our lunch and will be revisting when able.
Good staff and service, however very stingy on the bread rolls. For these high end prices you do expect to be asked if you would like more bread. Similarly, there were no petit fours at the end of the meal which is usually given by most highly priced restaurants. Portion sizes were good, and the quality of the food and presentation was very good. Dessert was exceptional. I personally wouldn't go back as they didn't go far enough with the little extras to make you feel happy enough to pay those prices. Prefer to stick to places that go the extra mile. I would recommend if you want something a little special but don't fancy travelling into central London... otherwise better off sticking to London.
Food excellent, service also excellent. There were one or two items not available but otherwise a very enjoyable experience.
This restaurant used to be wonderful...if I was the previous owner I would be so disappointed that I gave the name away. The food is terrible and should not have any awards. When my food arrived cold the chef said he would put it back in the oven. Time seemed to have been spent on the aesthetics of the starter that all skills to deliver good food was lost. Shocking downfall!
Perfect local restaurant for special occasion get togethers or family meals.
One downside is they don't seem to have a children's menu - so full price for 2 course meals for kids
However quality of food is great, getting the balance right over quality and quantity.
If you want a pile them high carvery, this is not for you, but if you want a delicious Sunday roast where the portion size is just right then this place is spot on.
It was my first time at Friends restaurant, we saw it a few times walking past and it looked really nice. We went for our anniversary, the food was exceptional. The wine selection was also great. The atmosphere is cosy and romantic. Highly recommend.
Really good local restaurant. Food is excellent, and great value./ Highly recommended.
Lovely small restaurant with attentive staff and delicious, good quality food. Will be back!
Quaint little restaurant, my wife and I had a lovely meal and received attentive service throughout.
Fantastic evening. Exquisite food, really nice Romanian wine, the best Irish coffee I have ever had( and I have had quite a few all over the world). The service was excellent, the staff very helpful and friendly and I really enjoyed the evening. The scallops were absolutely gorgeous, melt in the mouth with amazing delicate foam and the red mullet and octopus was equally delicious.
We were a table four celebrating an anniversary and had a very enjoyable evening. The food was very good and could not be faulted. We did have to wait quite a while before our drinks were served which is why the service was not rated 'outstanding'. Other than that the waitresses were all very professional and helpful.
Exceptional food on 2 occasions now , having tried different dishes from the menu which was also not identical 2 weeks in a row. Highly recommended.
Dimitri and Catherine
Food looked and tasted fantastic. I would recommend Friends Restaurant to anyone who appreciates good food.
