Proudly situated in the Hampstead Village community, with its quaint alleyways and perfectly preserved Georgian buildings, Gaucho Hampstead is a neighbourhood retreat in North London.

A stone’s throw from Hampstead Heath, our welcoming and contemporary interiors are the perfect place to enjoy a relaxed lunch, an after school treat or you can join us with the whole family on a Sunday for one of our legendary roasts.

One of our favourite features of the restaurant is our stunning, courtyard terrace with a traditional ‘Asado’ fire pit – where we barbeque in the summer and snuggle with blankets in the winter.

For all you Hampstead dog walkers, four-legged friends are always welcome for when you are snout and about.

    Being asked how is your meal is nice, twice acceptable, but 5 times is intrusive not counting the 2 or 3 times a move was taken then realising we were deep in conversation.

    I had the tiro de ancho and the colita de lomo. The tiro de ancho was very tasty but a little too chewy in places due to too much fat which was a shame. The colita de lomo was very tender and a great piece of meat though lacks in flavour vs the ancho. Overall excellent meat. We only had the meat with 2 sides so not much more to comment.

    I love Gaucho - the food (I always order a steak for the main course) is delicious and even the lower priced wine is very good. The only thing that is rather a pity is that prices seem to have risen a great deal, more so than some other restos - so difficult to afford and only go for a special treat.

    went all the way to gauchos for Father’s Day and the vegan options were all cooked in a dairy fryer so we had to leave because my son has a dairy allergy.

    Hi there, our meal came to £240 for a 500ml carafe of wine, two starters and two steaks and 3 small sides. Every element except the empanadas to start was disappointing. I was looking forward to something special and I was wholly underwhelmed.

    This is my second time at Gaucho Hampstead The first time was absolutely great and I provided a 5 star review This second time was terrible service The table we were given was extremely small for 2 adults let alone with a toddler also needing space to eat We were provided a toddler high seat which we placed on our side of the table. This semi blocked a table for 4 as the overall space was very small We asked for another seat but we were not given however we note that when another group came and declined the table for 4 next to us they were immediately moved After our meal my toddler wanted to sit on his father a bit, as soon as the manager saw this he came and removed the high seat and took it for another family - we had more time there and we were considering having dessert. I thought this was not a sensible thing to do, my son was in the seat and no circumstances should this be taken from him, he is as important as the other child Lastly the restaurant was busy yesterday with loud background music and people eating and talking The manager cane over to our table to ask my son to turn off his ipad This was rude considering the sound from the ipad blended in with the background noise and music being played in the restaurant There were no person’s sat on the table of 4 adjacent to us so who exactly was the sound disturbing There were other people at other tables having loud discussions Overall was not pleased about the service yesterday and we felt from the actions of the managers and staff we were not welcomed! I did not pay for the service charge this time. Please know how to be gentle with your customers who come there to eat and stop being abrupt and entitled!!

    Booked on line. Service was a little slow even though the time we had booked to eat wasn’t a busy time. I ordered a Sunday roast, whilst it was very nicely cooked and presented it wasn’t hot.

    This restaurant has gone down hill, newly done up looks lovely but that's it! everything else is not all that. They no longer bring out the steaks to show you, no longer give you bread on the table, drinks are full of ice hardley any drink inside, our waiter was extremely sarcastic, we were charged £50 service charge for four people! food was good but deffinalty not for the price, there are alot more restaurants around that serve the same if not better food for much less.

    Service was really slow, waitress wasn’t very attentive. Main courses came out as our bread starter did. Table next to us wasn’t cleaned up for an hour. Tap water wasn’t topped up. Had to keep asking for attention.

    I love Gaucho. The Steaks are always delicious, the Service was fab, polite and friendly. Only one thing is that the chips arrived cold but with no fuss they were taken away and a new bowl was bought quickly.

    The makeover, of the Hampstead Gaucho, gives it a fresh look. Our steaks were enjoyable however, unfortunately, one had a bit of excessive fat on it - the remainder of the steaks were excellent and very enjoyable. Service was a bit slow (the restaurant was busy) but the waiter was excellent.

    A sunny Saturday afternoon sitting outside on the covered terrace. Our server Daniela was attentive and informed and very friendly. The food and wine were great and the recent refurbishment was a positive one.

    I've been a Gaucho fan for more than 10years, tried many of their restaurants in London and have been accustomed to nothing short of 5* service/food/experience. You pay a premium price because you expect premium dining. However this time I was very much a below par experience. Although the steak was cooked to order (medium-medium), the quality of the meat and of the side orders were well below what they used to offer. The chimichurri sauce was mostly oil, there was no salt on the table, the waiter kept hitting our table and glassware every time something was brought to us/empty dishes were taken away, the steaks arrived before we were done with the starters, the wine glass was served short of the 175ml that was ordered... Quite a number of things that can be improved... Not sure I'll be back to this particular Gaucho.

    I sent my burger back as it was lukewarm,the chef didn’t look pleased He put back on the grill after feeling it with his hands then used a blowtorch to heat it up.This is unacceptable, I was sitting opposite the kitchen so I witnessed it.I didn’t make a fuss as our waitress was excellent and the Sunday roast was faultless.

    Considering it was so busy and they had so many staff, drinks took a very long time. They are so keen to sell water, I’m sure they are on commission to do so, then we only ordered sparking, but still charged for still. Bread basket at £5 is poor value!! Starters and steaks were sublime - you get what you pay for and they were excellent. Service was tentative and professional Not cheap but where is these days - up market up scale and worthwhile to go back!!
