Perfect in every way. Long may the quality of the food and attentive service continue. I’ll be visiting again for sure.
Lovely place and great service, however we were disappointed with the food. Mincing the boiled carrot at the table was good theatre but taste wise was a poor alternative to steak tartare , the faux grois again looked the part but was rather tasteless. They made an effort for my boyfriends birthday and the wine was really nice, I’d recommend the restaurant but not the vegan tasting menu.
Great night out and food and wine match was outstanding. Thank you very much for a memorable night. Somelier was fantastic and wine matched to the vegan degustation was simply outstanding. We struggled to isolate which dish was the best for us given they all were exceptional and each dish brought something else to wow us. The only comment I would make is for some of the other service staff to relax a bit and reduce the "formality" and slightly aloof approach of service. Again this may be just us and your Somelier bridged this brilliantly and made it a very warm engaging environment/experience. Thank you all again and we are already planning a return with our two adult children (also vegan).
We love Gauthier and this time didn’t fail to disappoint. Service is always so good and friendly. Food delicious ( we’ll forgive them that they forgot our petits fours)
Spectacular meal as ever. Deluxe lunch menu is incredibly good value.
I had the worst service and it was a huge let down. The waiters didn't make eye contact at all and never asked us if we needed anything. We had to wait up to 10 minutes to get anyone's attention. Not a welcoming ambiance at all. The startes and main course were delicious but the dessert was overly sweet. I had the souffle for dessert which was under cooked as well but they kindly changed it with another dessert. I chose the mille feuille which my friend had but my dessert didn't have all the elements as ny friend's plate!!!
We were a party of four at lunchtime. We had the tasting menu (two vegan) with a champagne aperitif and wine. The food was delicious, service was excellent. The staff were lovely and ambiance was perfect. We will definitely return and highly recommend. We found it great value.
This was our second visit to gauthier and the food didn’t disappoint, you couldn’t fault it. Unfortunately service wasn’t as good and we preferred the first floor seating area.
Only feedback was the wine glasses were left empty on one occasion.
Other than that superb food snd ambience.
We all had the vegan tasting menu and it was old fashioned and heavy
To celebrate my husband’s birthday we came with our family for dinner. We all decided on the Tasting Menu, and the food was delicious. So well balanced, and packed with flavour. Lovely atmosphere, and the staff looked after us very well. Would definitely recommend.
Incredible food and service. The ambience was perfect.
Ordered the tasting Vegan menu. A bit disapointed. Nice looking plates. But overall nothing special. Only the ravioli with the truffle was standing out. Desserts where fine as well. Other courses where flat with no character, had the idea they forgot to spice it with herbs or something, a bit dull.
Not convinced about the wines choices. Very very subtle changes in the white wine choices Except the dessert wine.(which was to sweet). For that price (130pond) it has to be much much better.
So this time i wont recommend this to my friends. Visited this instead Vanilla Black for a change. Will go back to Vanilla Black when visiting London for an upgrade vegan/vegetarian dinner.
Sorry Gauthier, that is my opinion.
Food was very beautiful but lacked the wow factor on taste
Amazing experience. Amazing food. We got the vegan taste menu. There was a lot of food.
INCREDIBLE food. Vegan without sacrificing any flavour. Just amazing. And, if you can, do the vegan tasting menu WITH the wine pairings - perfect!!
We experienced extraordinary service at our NYE dinner, especially by our Sommelier. The pacing of the meal and the environment were outstanding. The food on both standard and vegan menus was varied, exciting, and expertly crafted. The price though, at nearly £400, is hard to rationalize no matter how brilliant the experience. While I would consider returning, it cannot be a regular stop for most anyone.
Gauthier was an absolutely incredible culinary experience. The vegan menu went beyond our highest expectations. The flavours exemplified a perfect storyline from the beginning through to the very end. Excellent service or rather excellent experience.
The restaurant should make it clear on its website which menus are on offer on which dates. We had a very restricted choice - an 8 course tasting menu. It was delicious but of course it took a long time - we just wanted a nice 3 course dinner over a couple of hours. If we had known this in advance we would have gone elsewhere. The staff were not particularly friendly. The restaurant was far too hot.
Limited menu different to one advertised
A bit of a mixed experience, I'd heard only good things before booking for dinner. Ringing the doorbell was a lovely touch it was like being welcomed into a beautiful regency home. We were disappointed to find the only menu available was the taster one we spoke to the front of house staff saying we should have been told that when the booking was confirmed to be met with "I don't have anything to do with confirmations" that was disappointing. The food was great, beautifully presented as with taster menus you don't always like everything but overall delicious and the chocolate dessert is to die for. The staff were mixed, some excellent but one I found quite rude and did feel like an inconvenience to their night. Won't be going back but if you can overlook some of my experience, for an intimate dinner it may be ideal place.
We had the 5 course deluxe luncheon tasting menu during the holidays. We added the wine pairing and the wines were well selected. While in London we had several wine pairings and most were good with high end wines. What Gauthier does so well is select moderately priced wines to accompany very well prepared courses. In particular the scallops and venison were excellent. Our servers were attentive but not bothersome and the atmosphere was pleasant and conducive to conversation. A lovely experience.
Incredible meal. The food was delicious, the staff so knowlegeable and accommodating. We loved it.
I booked a table for 3 for a Christmas lunch get together.
We were seated on the first floor in a corner on a nice round table. There was a seasonal fixed 5 course menu, which included Scallops, Salmon, glass of bubbly, Truffle, Venison and a Chocolate praline pudding with a gold leaf!
Service is outstanding and friendly, food is so delicious and beautifully presented without being overly large as there are 5 courses. Plus, we were given amuse bouche and bread and petit fours to finish. For the experience and London I think at £50pp is good value. The only negative was the two larger groups who were quite noisy.
Will be back soon, thanks.
Always a great evening in a wonderful environment. The staff were exceptional.
Service was not quite what you would expect at a Michelin star restaurant.
Lovely lunch to celebrate my father’s retirement.
One of the best value lunches I’ve had in a London. The venison was to die for and the staff were lovely.
Thank you for making it a memorable occasion.
Fabulous Vegan tasting menu. Gautier is a must visit for any Vegan visiting London. Service and overall experiencing amazing!
Gauthier is one of my favourite restaurants. My recent visit was with a work colleague and we had the deluxe lunch deal. The service was impeccable and the wonderful food was matched with appropriate wines chosen by an expert sommelier. All of this plus a glass of champagne on arrival and coffee and petit fours at the end cost just 50 pounds a head. This restaurant offers the best value in all of London and is easily of one Michelin star level. I don't understand why it hasn't got one star but it probably doesn't need one.
A must visit place for delicious food, very good service, good value for money and the freedom for diners to ask particular dishes to be tweaked to their personal palates and tastes.
we had the deluxe set lunch which is 3 courses plus matching wines and amuse-bouche plus pre-dessert and coffee, the quality was first class as was the service. This must be the best value fine dining lunch in London. Well worth a visit
Service incroyable, cuisine inventive parfaitement maîtrisée.
Absolutely amazing food and second to none service.
I had the tasting menu and my boyfriend had the vegan tasting menu - each course was well thought out and the journey through the dishes felt really beautifully curated. Two stand outs were the truffle tortellini and the halibut.
The waiters were excellent and kept our wine topped up and explained all of our dishes throughout.
The restaurant was slightly too hot which made main courses a touch uncomfortable but other than that I can't fault the place.
We had a birthday plate at the end of the meal which was personalised and such a great extra touch for the end of the evening.
Thanks so much everyone at Gauthier!
Loved it again, food delicious and such good value will definitely return to try the vegan menu
Thank you all at gauthier
We had the vegan tasting Lunch menu. Fantastic experience for the tastebuds!!!
Just the best meal I’ve ever eaten. There you go, that’s my review.
