Great vegan tasting menu, they made special gluten free dishes for my partner also.
We were a party of tree and had the vegan tasting menu. The food was mostly very good, but a little uneven. The truffle tortellini was fantastic, but some of the other courses felt a bit bland. The wine pairings was similarly uneven, with some highlights but others that felt odd and uninspiring. The service was very good and the pacing and presentation was impressive.
Food is exquisite and vegan options abound. The setting is lovely and quiet (though in the middle of buzzing soho). The food is excellent as is the service. It’s a respite in a busy city—always a welcome treat. We’ve never been disappointed and we’ve brought friends from every continent. All have become fans.
Lovely restaurant with attentive staff. The tasting menu is excellent value for money with a great range of dishes especially for us vegan’s, the pasta dish was delicious and easily my favourite. Highly recommended.
Comfortable dining room, attentive but discreet service. We had the vegan tasting menu and every dish was imaginative, perfectly executed and delicious.
Excellent flexible package for lunch and all dishes well presented and executed
Very good service and interesting wine offerings
The deluxe option presents good value for wine drinkers
We will return
A wonder meal by all. No loud music so we could actually have a conversation without shouting. The wine we had with our was exceptional. The staff was amazing and attentive.
As always excellent meal and service, first time we've had lunch, usually evening booking.
This is our favourite London restaurant and, over the years, every monthly visit has always proved to be a most delightful experience. The flavours packed into every beautifully presented dish are greedily savoured by the two of us and, in order not to miss out on anything presented at our table, we have decided (long ago!) to share every plate. Amazingly, even though neither of us is a vegetarian or vegan, the Faux Gras that begins the proceedings of the lunch "Deluxe" menu is always eagerly anticipated days in advance! My dream is that Monsieur Gauthier might be persuaded to allow it to be made for sale for a chosen commercial venue and, should it come to pass, I would become its most frequent customer! Dreams aside, it is a joy and a privilege to be able to indulge, on a fairly regular basis, in exquisitely cooked and magnificently presented food served in very agreeable surroundings by incredibly professional and attentive staff. Thank you all so much for looking after us - it is truly appreciated.
It was my husbands birthday
And they added a lovely birthday treat
Definitely one of the best lunch deal in London. Very good value for money.
Very nice atmosphere and amazing service as usual.
As ever, we had a lovely time at Gauthier. The only minor cavil is that, when I booked, I was asked if we were attending because of a special occasion. I replied that we were both celebrating birthdays. I assumed, therefore, that this fact would be marked in some way. Unfortunately, it wasn't. Perhaps I got the wrong end of the stick........
Great food as always and it's always a pleasure to go back, one of our favourite restaurants.
The food was wonderful but the ambience really let the experience down. The room was nearly empty, no music and the service a bit overly formal
I had a very bad start with this restaurant. I was meeting my son and my wife was with me. We asked if she could sit with us and have a drink while we started the meal as she had 30 minutes before she was lunching elsewhere. We were told that this was impossible as they only allowed people to eat in their restaurant. Now, this felt pretty inflexible and unhelpful to me immediately, and on sitting down it was clear that this was a "policy" decision rather than one based on the situation as there was an empty table that remained empty right next to us and my wife being there for a half hour would not have been an issue at all.
However, the food and service was great aside from that. The vegan menu was really good - and the different wine pairings both made sense and were sensible value. I will probably come back but if the service attitude remains as inflexible as the start of this mean I suspect there may be other issues - we will see. Initially my wife was quite upset that she'd been turned away without a good reason and once I saw the situation inside I was also a little annoyed by this. We noticed someone come and sit down at another table later on and there were no repurcussions so maybe this was a one-off...
First-class lunch in every way. We had the deluxe set lunch 3 courses, 3 glasses of wine, coffee petit fours plus amuse bouche and a pre-dessert! Excellent food wine and service must be the best quality/value for money in London.
This was a second visit for the lunch tasting menu. the occasion was a friends 70th birthday.
The whole experience was excellent, my friend thought it was amazing. Perhaps because I had tasted before I was slightly less impressed but couldn't fault. I suppose the saying is that a meal is only as good as the last course and the petit fours did let the meal down.
Favourite was the scallop dish closely followed by the duck.
This food is truly outstanding. The rest of the day I basically spent raving about it.
Bravo to the chef to show how wonderful vegan food can be.
Outstanding food and service at these prices is unknown in Soho. A real treat of a night out.
The Tasting menu is amazing!
The only con is, most waiters speak to fast with a very strong french accent what makes it hard to understand when explaining the dishes.
Wonderful, clever and memorable food and great front of house staff. We really felt looked after. Theatre and quality.
Admirable, perfect for a Special night out. Discreet location, casual but warm reception spirited one away from frenetic London
Gauthier Soho made our meal for our wedding anniversary a truly memorable occasion. The staff could not be more helpful, the sommeliers wine pairings were outstanding, and some wines I would never have considered previously. Very reasonably priced will definitely be return customers! 10/10 if I could give more I would, thank you!
Excellent service and even better food. Would visit again.
The vegan tasting menu was remarkable! Each course was delicious.
I am planning my next visit.
I would absolutely recommend it. I loved the dishes and the love and attention that went into making them and plating them. One tiny detail is the seabass was slightly overcooked in my opinion but perhaps this is to cater for British palates. The service was lovely and I would also recommend them to relax a bit, they seem a bit worried. Everything is wonderful and they could speak more slowly when they are explaining the dishes. Apologies for nitpicking!
A disappointing experience. Ambience is soulless, staff disconnected, not attentive to the progression of the meal. (Did not bring wine list, brought main before we’d finished starters..)
The main vegetarian course was bitter and plain.
As always great food. But a pretentious young head waiter tried his best to impose his humourless self on the proceedings. He verged on being rude when we made a simple enquiry about the vegan menu. Best ignored which is what we did. But, this young man has to be made aware that he’s got a lot to learn about his profession. Over to you, Gauthier.
Well, I was not happy at all this time. I think their service is rude sometimes especially for asians. Food quality is getteing worse too compaire to last a couple of years. Probably one of the reason is selling so many discount vouchars.
Excellent as ever. Can’t fault anything. Our favourite restaurant in London!
This was a great experience for my friends and I, where we attended for a birthday. We had the tasting menus which were delicious, the atmosphere was great and we will definitely be attending again!
Lovely vegan tasting menu, some fake meats would have gone down a treat as some courses (beetroot, onion) one we didn’t like and felt didn’t show great value for money.
Lovely champagne and delightful atmosphere. Thank you!
Wonderful as always. The best place in London in my opinion
We had the set lunch with wine. Great food, value, service and ambience. What more does one want?
If you want a relaxed environment with superb food and spot on service from the staff, this is the place.
From start to finish the evening was just perfect, highly recommend and will definitely be back.
Great food!! Could do with some wines by the glass via Coravin
Gauthier Soho is going from strength to strength. Here we have a chef at the very top of his game supported by professional and knowledgeable staff both in the kitchen and front of house. As I've said before, I don't understand why Alexis Gauthier doesn't have a Michelin star but, as I've also said before, he doesn't need one.
