Overall good. I ordered from vegetarian menu and the dish came with the wrong pasta sauce and no protein shreds. I brought this to attention of server and received a second plate with correct sauce and still no protein shreds.
We had really good service and it was quiet (Wednesday early evening before the theater). We ate in the bar and ordered food off the bar menu. Very reasonable prices. I had the bay shrimp with lettuce wedge and the jalapeno poppers. My wife had the shrimp tacos. Our companions both had the corkscrew shrimp which turned out to be a huge plate of food like nachos! We will be back.
Pretty ok. For some reason I was thinking this was a fancy place, it’s pretty casual. There was debris on the food as we were led to our table. My friend’s sea bass was “heavy”, my husband’s halibut was a bit dry, I got the 1.5 lb Maine lobster for $32 and it was excellent as was the Thai calamari.
We had a great time dining outside.
The hostesses were warm and friendly upon our entrance and genuinely projected a sense of welcome.
Our server Julianne was courteous, attentive, knowledgeable yet able to perfectly “read” our intentions of 4 friends reaffirming connections via a meal. She appeared at all the right moments but otherwise, provided us the space to talk and laugh.
The food was superb. The macadamia crusted mahi mahi, the swordfish and the calamari were works of art this evening. The sushi rolls were fresh and well put together.
All in all, a most pleasant meal which hit all the right notes.
Gladstone’s Long Beach has performed well once again.
Beautiful Sunday sitting out on the patio and with live music from a one man band. Food was very delicious.
View was outstanding. Food was fine. Menu is varied. Special weekend brunch menu was appealing. Service was slow...took a while to get beverages. Then had to ask someone to find our waitress as she was nowhere to be seen and had apparently forgotten us. It was lunch and we had a small child with us and were not there for a long drawn out meal,. Value OK as you should expect to pay more for a water view. If the service had been better I would give it 4 stars. I see from other reviews which I read after going that service us a recurring issue. Management needs to work on this...
It was my birthday, I had five guest. The waitress was accommodating and friendly. The food was good, but the flies were a bit aggressive inside, other than that it was a great afternoon celebration.
Server was polite. The appetizers were served along with our dinner. Halibut did not taste good. We asked to be seated in the patio hoping for a quiet dinner but it instead it was extremely loud. Nice view but we will not be returning.
The clam chowder could have been hotter temperature wise. I did not get the entree I ordered. However the entree I received was fair....a very mild curry I prefer hotter both spicy and temperature.
It was entertaining watching the little mice running around outside in the planted area
Good food. Good ambiance. Good service. Been here a few times during the week. It’s a huge restaurant, never crowded. The patio has a nice view. My favorite is the lobster, crab, & shrimp linguine.
Great seafood and service.
Our server Jaden was awesome. Patient and accommodating with a smile. She was helpful and efficient.
The overall experience was average, food was okay, and it took awhile to get our food. The view was great, but I’ve had a lot better experiences and the food was better at other places I’ve been to for the amount of money.
Disappointed. There were very few customers on Friday @ 730pm and yet we experienced very slow service.
Food was very good as was the service. The setting is absolute lovely, making it my favorite place to dine in Long Beach!
Beautiful view of Long Beach and Queen Mary, attentive service. Would have like to seen a more extensive menu but happy with my lobster special. Surprised to be asked to pose for a pic by a polite staffer. The pics were $10 each which was strange but the pic came out nice with a sunset view.
The food is overpriced. My grilled shrimp was way overcooked and not peeled properly and I didnt like the sides. Definitely not worth $31. Our waiter disappeared near end of meal and we had to flag down another one so we could pay and leave. The linguini, calamari, and chowder are good. Overall my group enjoyed the free appetizer and and the view and not much else. Our bill was outrageous. Would never recommend.
Our server Peter made us feel like we knew him for years
Loved the clam chowder.
This is not Gladstone’s. What a joke. Service couldn’t have been worse. We actually had to get up from our chair twice to chase down our waitress.
Our entries were cold and blah. They forgot our appetizer and when we asked about it the waitress told us that she had forgotten it. When it was finally delivered it was cold and not as described by the menu.
As a final insult we got hit by a $10 parking fee.
For was fantastic! The service was very quick and friendly.
The restaurant was fine, but the parking situation is horrible.
We were on the patio so it wasn't too loud. Would have preferred the steel drum player to start earlier so we could hear it longer but the music they were playing before was fine too. Our server James was wonderful and very attentive. Food came quickly and was plentiful. Beautiful view, wonderful weather. Perfect location & weather for Sunday brunch.
We came at lunch and they weren't super busy but it took SO LONG to get our food. We gave ourselves 2 hours for lunch and had to rush out of there because the food and service was so slow. We were actually late for our next appointment. Horrible service. Empty waters. Not good.
Great ambiance for sure. Staff was super friendly and professional. And food was good!!! Yes, their clam chowder is amazing!!!
Not sure whether our expectations were set too high for a tourist area restaurant - but everything was mediocre. Server was pleasant and appeared on the ball but getting drinks and food and setups were all a challenge.
We love this spot, and have always loved Gladstone's food. This time, we were disappointed that the new menu did not include the fish tacos, as they were a favorite. Otherwise, the additions were good.
Sea bass entree and salmon caesar salad were superb. Excellent service by Jada.
Your poor bartender had to wait tables and bartend. This created a back-up on drink orders. Not good when it is a brunch crowd.
James our waiter was great!
Although not as good as its Malibu location the food was excellent but the service was a little slow and and spotty. Interesting that they made nothing of the fact that it was an anniversary despite my having noted that on the reservation with you.
We were celebrating a special occasion and we were treated wonderfully. The staffs treatment of our group added to the festive air and was much appreciated.
The only think disappointing is that our server did not acknowledge our anniversary even though I made a note of it. We’re not blaming her though. She’s still very sweet and accommodating.
Great location, but no self parking.
Nice location, well decorated and clean restaurant. Food good. Service was average at best.
Food was not up to the quality of prior visits. For example, the halibut was over cooked and dry, the mashed potatoes were hard and gummy
The service was underwhelming. Although the server was charming, she seemed to not be very interested in if everything was all right with us. For example, there was a salad order that never showed up and she didn't recognize that, she never checked if everything was ok after it was served and we wanted to ask for a couple of additional things
The noise level was very high when we arrived - about 6:30 pm, but by 7:30 pm it seemed that the noise level was much reduced because by then, there were almost no other customers inside
Restaurant was pretty empty on a Sunday evening and the service was horrible. Daughters simple hamburger order of ketchup and mustard came with mayo and ketchup and what was suppose to be medium well but was well and tough and dried out. All at the tune of $17.00. The sword fish was so so, nothing to rave about. Halibut pretty good. I have had way better Calamari appetizer, these were so tough and chewy that my jaw actually hurt after.
The waitress was not on her A game at all. Delivered a warm beer first time around then completely forgot for 15 minutes when we ordered another one and realized it after she asked if there was anything else she can get for us. She then said, "oh, your beer, could not find that one anywhere", so we ordered a different one and she came 7 minutes later with the original one we ordered. What?? She also forgot to order the shrimp rolls my daughter had ordered so we had to wait for that also.
Poor service and quality of food for the amount they charge. Luckily the view from the window was pleasant.
Excellent location, especially sitting in patio area with nice sea breeze and enjoying harbor sites. Food is very good, especially for a tourist location! Server was very friendly and all staff accommodating.
Go & enjoy! Love OpenTable and making reservations online!
