We had a wonderful dinner with our family here on Saturday. Only downside was that despite having made a 5:30pm reservation for 7 (including 3 kids under-6), they had overbooked that night and we didn't get seated until past 6pm. Everything else, though, from the food to the waitstaff to the awesome kids menu, we were very happy with.
Guapos drinks and dinner were perfect. Enjoyed a relaxing time. Wait staff were very conscientious and nice
Best Mexican food ever!
The food was salty and not tasty at all. Even the margaritas were bad. I won’t ever go back.
After a long hiatus, I returned to Guapo's based on a positive review in the paper. Although I had been disappointed in the past, my recent meal of chile rellenos was delicious. The poblano pepper was fresh and not overcooked; the cheese was flavorful and generous. The usual sides - rice, beans, guacamole - were all standard and not disappointing. Service was prompt. Only an unhappy child crying detracted from an otherwise good lunch.
Service was good as was the food but towards the end of the night they bought us our check without us asking and wanted us to pay the bill however we weren’t done consuming our food, drink and desserts.
Fantastic evening at Guapos on the waterfront! We received great service, enjoyed delicious food and cocktails! The mango sorbet was refreshing on a hot evening! Looking forward to going back soon!
Everything has cilantro!!! They should have cilantro-less salsas! Mexican salsas don’t even have any cilantro!
Just met up with a friend for good food
The food is great! The service is nice. The drinks are weak-- definitely not much bang for the buck.
Delicious Mexican food. Pina colada was to die for. Loud and packed but worth it!
Great food and love the guacamole 😍
Guapo's is beginning to go down, showing signs of carelessness. The chicken fajitas came with dried out chicken (it was succulent in the past) and curiously, they brought the rice & beans plate separately but placed the cold-extras plate (guacamole, sour cream & pico-de-gallo) on top of the scorching platter so they all boiled - not tasty or pleasant. Asked a busser to bring a fresh cold-extras plate and got it, but when I mentioned this to our waiter he was not fazed at all.
Best authentic Mexican food. Great location and wait staff.
Our waiter was amazing and very accommodating!
Ordered the chicken fajitas. It came on a sizzling plate which sizzled for so long that it burnt all my food! My food was still cooking on the plate for at least 15 more minutes after the waiter gave it to me. All my chicken and vegetables were burnt & stuck to the plate.
My experience at Guapos was great. Hadn’t been there in many years and was pleased to see that not much had changed. The guacamole was delicious and each dish served was equally as delicious. The service was also very good. Our server was friendly and very attentive. We were celebrating my nieces birthday. Through conversation with him he picked up the occasion being her birthday, with that he surprised us all with desssert a sombrero and song. Thanks Guapos for another enjoyable evening!
Delicious Mexican meal and outstanding service! Will definitely be back next time I am in DC! Our server Walter was outstanding
Guapo's was a good place for a nice Mexican meal. It is also in a convenient location for a quick bite to nearby venues as well as the Metro station. They were very accommodating to the lesser number of guest that I had reserved for originally. Drinks were good too.
Better make reservations. Very crowded and tables are small. But overall a great Mexican restaurant.
Great place for something nice and quiet; however, not ideal for a brunch turn up!
Great for a group. The outdoor seating is nice and covered.
Our food was good. The shrimp tijuana appetizer was delicioso!! My margarita wasnt strong enough but still delish. Would definitely recommend.
The food is fine and the tequila shrimp is one of the tastiest menu items. We go often because the staff is friendly and the kids love it. Our kids love to watch the tortilla machine work and the staff often gives them a ball of dough to play with.
