Making the reservation was easy on open table. We arrived ahead of time and let the host know we were checking in. We came back 5 minutes ahead of our reservation and were quickly seated at a wonderful outdoor table for two near the grassy area with a view of the ocean. Our waiter was quick to greet us and took our drink and appetizer order. The drinks and appetizer arrived quickly and then we ordered our salads and main course. Main course was shrimp Longhorn and the fresh fish of the day. Both were excellent. We had no issues at all at it was just what I was hoping for. Highly recommended.
Great waiter. Food was good, it was better than we expected. They sat us right next to the beach outside. I would have been unhappy inside. The music was loud and not my taste. We liked all the food. We had the seared ahi tuna and the boneless short rib with two salads. We shared and it was great. Drinks were yummy. Again, the waiter was very good.
We were not guest at the resort, but had to walk through it to get to the restaurant.
The Fish Hopper is our “go to” restaurant in Kona town. The staff is fabulous, both in the bar and restaurant. As busy as it was on the 4th of July, they were friendly & efficient. The location is great, directly across from Kona Bay. It’s the perfect place to people watch or view an amazing Hawaii sunset. The food is consistently good, great presentation and nice dessert selection. Every time we dine here it’s like coming home. Kudos to The Fish Hopper.
