Hawksmoor Air Street
Our new bar menu is now available and you can book a table over the phone on 0207 406 3981. Dishes include Langoustine scampi, Ox cheek & roasted bone marrow and house pickles and Bacon Double Cheeseburger. But you don’t need to eat to come to Air Street bar. A stone’s throw from Piccadilly Circus, it’s a perfect spot for some drinks pre or post other West End fun.
Given that it us a specialist steak restaurant it was disappointing that two steaks had to be sent back because they were not cooked as they had been ordered. The staff handled it very well but it shouldn't have happened.
Went out for dinner here for my brother’s birthday. Having eaten at Goodman many times I thought we’d try London’s other top steakhouse. I must say I was decidedly disappointed. Service was ok, we paid the discretionary 12.5% but it wasn’t worth it. Starters disappointed. The chips were cold (which to be fair they replaced, and gave us complimentary) at £5 for a something which cost them less than 30p to make were poor. The mac & cheese tasted like it came from a microwave. The steak, the main attraction was good. But when you’re paying £35-£60 a steak you want it to be better than good, don’t you? Overall I’d rather Goodman, or Gauncho or even my local steak restaurant in Kent (The Butcher’s Block, look it up). But really go to a decent butcher, buy a nice t-bone and grill it yourself for 10% of the price and better quality.
The steak was so delicious and the service was fantastic. Thanks so much
Amazing food, amazing drinks, lovely staff who guided us through the menu.
Eszter was lovely and really helpful. Made us feel very welcome
The restaurant and the ambiance were just perfect for a date/catch up with friends/business meetings/drinks/but specially SUNDAY ROAST LUNCH. The food was just perfect! The service was amazing as well, they were so friendly. I love the decoration of the restaurant. I can't wait to go there again.
Excellent Sunday Lunch as always. The value is simply outstanding for what you get. I would highly recommend this restaurant for Sunday lunch.
Went for a Sunday roast at Hawksmoor Air Street and had a fabulous time. The staff were all lovely, and the Sunday roast tasted amazing - we had to get second helpings of the bone marrow gravy as it was so good! Will definitely be returning.
Well, food was nice enough just very loud and disrupted ambiance. The price tag definitely doesnt fit the experience. Very much overpriced. And the waiters look quite scruffy I'm sorry to say. They seemed to be all over the place, not managing specific areas. All running around but similarly doing nothing. Never preempting any of your needs. We had to ask for everything and I mean EVERYTHING twice. Wouldn’t go again, definitely wouldn’t advise friends.
Amazing steak, great service and a brilliant selection of unique cocktails in the bar
Those of you that haven't been to Hawksmoor before may want to take note before you plan to visit for the first time. My partner and I were very disappointed with the limited selection of steaks. The MOQ of sharing steaks is set at 700g, but only if they have any left that day. We sat down at 7pm on Saturday and the smallest cut of sharing steak they had was 950g! This is way too much to share between a couple. We were very surprised and disappointed that even as early as 7pm they had ran out of smaller cuts.
Added to this they had also ran out of a side dish and one of the steaks we chose was very dry (cooked medium rare). I would have to say it was the worst I have experienced. I didn't want to say anything at the time as I didn't want to make a fuss on our anniversary.
I must say the other steak we had was lovely and the service was excellent. Plus it was a nice touch to be presented with a chocolate gift for our anniversary after our main course.
Not as good as usual, but still good! Both of our steaks were either over or under cooked. My husbands peppercorn sauce didn’t arrive with the steaks and sides so he had to wait for that. My fries also made a late appearance. Would have been fine if the waitress appeared to understand the frustration but unfortunately she was neither apologetic or prompt with resolving either matter. The steaks both also had a bitter aftertaste which is not usually the case but we were so hungry and therefore ate it. Not up to the usual, high Air St standard.
Great for families and babies I'm glad to report! Come on the weekends, and we brought our baby in pram and the staff are all so accommodating to help young families.
Lovely meal, wonderful service, as always. One of my favourite places to eat.
Never disappoints! Fantastic food, great ambience and outstanding service.
Very busy and bustling restaurant. Outstanding food, I have had one of the best porterhouse steaks ever in this place. Very good wine selection as well. I will come back to this place.
Service was good. The waiter serving us was brilliant as my meat was overlooked. He saw this through to the end - new dish and sides and a free dessert. He was very apologetic.
Overall, an ok experience, but nothing special. Despite claims on its website to the contrary, it is a generic steak n fish brasserie-style venue, like you can find across London and other capital cities these days. Dark wood, subdued lighting and banquettes abound. Simple selection of steaks and fish. Slightly inflated prices to take account of location just off Regent's St. Service was attentive and steak was nicely cooked and of good quality. Bottom line: as I sat there, I realised I could have been in Dubai, Vegas or even Dublin. It lacks its own personality, while there are so many other restaurants nearby in Soho bubbling with energy and verve.
I've booked a table for 15:00 and only when we arrived we were told that the kitchen is going to be closed so we need to order straight away. My friend has ordered his meat Medium Rare and I've asked for the same, but when the meat has arrived it was Medium Well. You can imagine what MW meat taste like.... I've asked the waitress about the meat and she mentioned that my friend (that just went to the toilet) asked for MW and that she repeated it twice. When my friend came back I've asked him what he asked for and he said MR. I even recall that when she repeated the order I've heard and understood MR and not MW.
Side dishes also weren't amazing. We took the potatoes , mushrooms and spinach. I would only recommend the spinach out of all.
Luckily the sticky toffee pudding saved the day...
The restaurant was empty so I can't give a real opinion about the noise and the ambiance.
We love dining at the Hawksmoor Air Street!
They simply cannot be beaten on service and quality! Fantastic!
On Sunday we visited specificilaly for a roast dinner but unfortunately the roast potatoes were not available however Laura and Laszlo both went way above and beyond to ensure we were not disappointed.
As ever,Hawksmoor delivered. Asked prior to our meal if a cornflake milkshake was back on the menu for my son...someone called me to explain why it wasn’t but said an alternative would be available. Indeed it was...free of charge. Thanks Hawksmoor!
Been here twice now for evening meal and most recently for Sunday dinner. Fantastic food great vibe and service can't be faulted. If I'm to be very picky a tad expensive for Sunday dinner.
Great food as always and perfect service. It was my wife's birthday and although we did not ask for anything the waiting staff arranged a small chocolate birthday treat, just to underline what great service they give.
Took my 6yo on a Sunday afternoon to meet with friends. It’s not really the of place you’d take your children but right from the entrance we were welcomed warmly and made to feel invited. Service was excellent, the food - roast beef with every trimming - was superb. Pink meat and lots of sides. We had a bottle of organic Australian Cabernet which improved as the meal progressed - if you order this one let it breath! Sticky toffee pudding, peanut butter cookie and a sticky toffee sundae all WOW! Overall a fantastic relaxed Sunday catchup with friends in excellent surroundings. 5*
Ambiance excellent, service excellent and as always the food was amazing.
Really attentive service and the usual great Hawksmoor food and ambiance that keeps us coming back.
Waiter not very attentive or informative and no uniform. A place like this should have a standard in attire. Food was nice although the chicken was so salty it was not pleasant
Great service, fantastic food, good relaxed atmosphere.
We will definitely be back
The decor is fab, staff enthusiastic, knowedgeable & attentive.
The menu selection was ok and the food delicious but there was just something missing but I just can't put my finger on what it is .... maybe ambience ..... do I think it's value for money ???? In truth I thought it was just a little pricey for what I got out of the evening .... but I'd give it another shot.
From the minute we walked in the front door every member of staff, we had contact with, made us feel welcome and special. Lovely surroundings and atmosphere, knowledgeable staff and beautiful food made the whole dining experience excellent. We will definitely be back.
Food was amazing, the only negative to the experience was the waiter being rude and obnoxious. Otherwise I would have given 5 stars.
Our 2nd visit and even better than I remember. The service was friendly, prompt and knowledgeable - happy to help with food and wine recommendations without being pushy. The steaks were cooked preferably and had excellent flavour. A little pricey but no more than similar restaurants. Great central location too.
Fantastic food with a fantastic people
We arrived after the theatre around 10.30pm the restaurant was quiet, we have previously fined at the seven dials restaurant and were looking forward to trying air street, however although the starter was excellent, I had ordered mashed potato and English greens with my smoked haddock main course, which was at best tepid, the vegetables and potato cold, waiter was very good and took them away to replace, by the time both were returned i had finished the haddock, to be fair we were not charged for the side dishes but it made the meal very disappointing
I always love going here. The food is always spot on, has an excellent cocktail bar with an impressive list of Whiskies and Gin's. Staff are always extremely helpful and polite, nothing is ever too much bother. Great place and wonderful art noveau style decor! Outstanding
Made very welcome friendly staff made to feel comfortable and relaxed. Changed part of my main which was know problem. Great decor over looking Regent Street beautiful windows.
Great food as always. Only disappointment was not sure when the mac and cheese is coming back and only asked for 2 glasses of wine but ended up being charged for the bottle. Besides that everything is spectacular.
Great place as always and amazing food. Sadly no mac n cheese and had to ask twice couple of times for a drink but otherwise great place
We took the evening special at 5.00pm as it was perfect for our evening visit to the theatre area.
It was our 1st visit to this Air st branched restaurant group, the staff couldn’t of been more supportive and professional at all levels.
The food was all excellent and the South Africa Stellenbosch wine was to die fot
This restaurant is the default place for theatre and we have told all our friends and business links.
Visited Air Street for my daughters 10th birthday. We had 3 steaks between 4 (my daughter has quite a small appetite) and various starters, including the scallops, as well as desserts. All the food was delicious.
