Hawksmoor Seven Dials
Great meat, sides are very small, service was slow but friendly.
I've previously dined in the Air Street Hawksmoor and on both occasions the steaks were filling and well cooked. The service was friendly and competent. One of my guests asked if we could move tables as it was exceptionally noisy in the main area and our waiter agreed to this without fuss, swiftly finding us an alternative in a quieter place. An enjoyable meal.
Some of the staff were very helpful and polite but others were completely oblivious and unhelpful. I think they work on a basis of one server per area which didn't work well and meant other servers were not willing to help us which was odd. The ambiance is nice and the food was good and desserts were nice (not too sweet) but I'm not in a hurry to return.
Great set menu & great service
Had a fantastic meal on a Monday night here, the BYO Mondays are great. The staff in the circumstances were brilliant too - the place was heaving and our waiter was on great form all night.
Staff were wonderful
Incredibly attentive service cannot wait to come back
Great service, amazing food.
Great service, but not stuck up. High quality, but not snobbish. Great location, fun staff. I will definitely visit next time I'm in London.
Food good, but very noisy, no real ambiance. Service good, but not excellent as quite slow at times. Too dark and quite expensive. Have had food as good or better for less.
Slightly disappointed with the whole experience, we were seated between two other couples but we seemed to be invisible. Our food kept going to other people and our drinks came so much later when we were seated first. Not sure if I would want to come back here again, as the bill came fast enough...
Our first visit to Hawksmoor (but not our last). The staff were simply outstanding, very pleasant and helpful and nothing was too much trouble. The food was fabulous and plentiful. The steaks were huge! We arrived early so took the opportunity to sit by the bar and the drinks were wonderful. The staff assisted us in recommending particular wine to us which was very helpful. Although the main restaurant is surprising large (apparently an old brewery cellar) it was not too noisy and the ambience was nice and relaxed. Although the restaurant is not cheap, you get what you pay for and dare I say it, there is a better class of clientele that frequent the premises. I would highly recommend this restaurant if you want to have an unhurried relaxing meal in a great atmosphere.
One of the best steaks I have ever had. All the food was superb and the service was great. Quite expensive but worth it. Quite noisy.
The steak as you would expect was great, but it was let down by the sides which were very wet and verging on cold. If you charge a premium everything should be superb.
Excellent food, service and a great evening out. The Mezcal is a must have to finish the evening off.
Slight criticism is that it’s just a little noisy; but all part of the experience.
Relaxed good fun
Food was excellent for the most part. Brussels Sprouts were hard though and chef agreed. Tables could have been a little further apart as a colleague got elbowed in the back of the head by a waiter at the table behind him.
Very loud, not possible to speak. Food was ok. Not valuable thow.
Our previous visit was a much better experience. This time we wanted to repeat the great shared Chateaubriand we'd had before, but there was none available. We settled instead for separate steaks, which were ok rather than superb. Service was attentive.
We have been several times over the summer and it has always been fantastic BUT this time was not good.
I know we were late turning up – the traffic was particularly bad, but there were tables available in the main dining hall and we were placed at the bottom of the stairs.
We ordered several steaks, especially prime rib, to share with esteemed guests from the RFU and the waiter changed these and delivered porterhouse without even informing us. He also forgot to ask about sauces so I had to order these after the steak was on the table.
The waiter was particularly disdainful telling us we had too much food and not ordering the drinks we asked for – he also changed the wine we were drinking without informing us.
It was Christmas and we were rather merry so I did not notice the ‘optional’ service charge but if I had I would not have paid it.
As always great food quality drink and a fantastic ambiance
So I’ve eaten here plenty of times over the years and the food is consistently good. It was a busy night and so the service wasn’t quite up to its usual standards. Most disappointingly the bone marrow gravy and peppercorn sauce lacked their usual depth of flavour. When you spend £85 on a 900g porterhouse it’s reasonable to expect decent gravy and sauce. Both seemed watered down on this occasion.
Always a pleasure to go to The Hawksmoor and on this occasion it was its normal excellent self although there was a quality issue with the prime rib which meant it wasn't delivered to the table for an additional 10 minutes after the rest of the meal but the staff were very apologetic and treated us well to make up for it. Will I go again? Of course I will, I love it!
I have been in this establishment as solo diner on Monday evening. Comfortable and casual atmosphere, even though it was quite crowded, must assume food is lovely...
I had scallops, nice and meaty; prime rib on the bone that is a generous portion for 1,delicious! Good selection of wines decently priced, I had a very good ‘05 Pauillac. Staff is attentive and friendly, I would definitely recommend this place
fab place, food fantastic and staff
friendly and knoeledgeable
I have been here a few times, this time was not as good as all the others, probably because there was no Italian Pinot Grigio white wine which was very disappointing. We ordered our food and then a waitress came back to tell us there was no cauliflower cheese. Sometimes, the wine being poured for us took longer than we would have liked. The service as we came through the door upstairs was not on point as usual, very full and we had to engage the staff member to help us, asked whether we wanted our coats taken as we were walking down the stairs. Lost its beautiful detailed touches sadly on this occasion, but, I am back before Christmas, so we will see how this goes and if similar probably won't return given you are paying not just for the food but for the attention to detail in terms of service, attention and experience.
Compared to previous visits, food was not cooked properly. Asked for medium rare and steak was barely cooked rare. Everything else was good.
Our favourite place for a family get together
with a Sunday Roast
Wonderful Sunday roast complemented by unique cocktails, attentive and friendly service, topped off with fabulous sticky toffee pudding. In all, a great London experience! Be sure to book your table in advance.
Usual great service and delicious food.
We are visiting London from Texas, US. We wanted a traditional Sunday roast, and my research turned up Hawksmoor as one of the best roasts in London. It did not disappoint. The ambiance was great, and the food was delicious. My son has a shellfish and tree nut allergy, which I stated on the reservation. Our server was very attentive to this. We didn’t even have to bring it up—he saw it on the reservation and automatically brought us the allergen menu. We appreciated this attention to detail so much. This was our last day in London, and it was a great way to finish a wonderful week.
Sunday Roast was beyond amazing. As was sticky toffee pudding for dessert. Top notch all around. Service was also very good.
The waiter was great, the wine and dessert recommendation on point. A lovely evening indeed
Been comeing here for almost 8 years gets better everytime we eat here food and service 5 stars *
Fantastic food, amazing atmosphere, great service. One of my favourite places to eat in London. And great bar area for pre or post dinner drinks.
Such amazing food, service and atmosphere at Hawksmoor!
Good. Been a few times now. We were celebrating a birthday and I did make a note of this at the time of booking but it was not mentioned upon arrival or by any staff and there was no birthday candle after our dessert.
Not a big issue as the food was good as usual but these small attention to details really makes a difference to the customer's experience (we had this last year).
Went to Hawksmoor Seven Dials for an evening meal on my Birthday weekend (29/11). Started with a drink in the bar area, I can highly recommend their blended Malbec. Our cuts of fillet and ribeye were superb, cooked to perfection, every mouthful full of flavour, highly recommend and we'll be back for when we are next in London.
Very good steak as might be expected but beware portions were very large especially the starter, so if you're not overly hungry maybe choose wisely!
4 good friends stopped off for a late lunch. Started in the bar with Shaky Petes all round before moving through to the restaurant. Shared a decent size bone in rib and a fillet. Bunch of sides to accompany them. Macaroni cheese is a ‘must have’.
Steaks were perfectly cooked. Service at the table was spot on, attentive but in an unobtrusive and unfussy manner.
One of the party has the surname of Palmer, and there’s a wine on the list with Palmer following the word Chateau. Needless to say we ordered it, definitely a wine to savour. I wish he had a less expensive surname!!
We’ll be back again for sure.
