Great Food. Crab soup A-Mazing! Server very friendly.

I have seen this place for years coming off the Bridge. I finally decided to go. Of course during a pandemic in the winter time LOL. But it was well worth it

A terrific and relaxing evening......great food, beautiful view. Our party of four all had something different--crab cakes, fish and chips, meatloaf and salmon. We all commented on much we enjoyed our meals. The Gorgonzola meatloaf, by the way, was the star of the show but the other entrees were also exceptional. The drinks are very generous, as a matter of note. My Manhattan was extraordinary.

Perfect situation in these Covid times. We sat outside and happily enjoyed a safe family gathering. I don’t know how much longer the outdoor deck will be available but while it is it’s a great time to be able to get together with others. You feel safe and comfortable. The service was great, the food was delicious, and the prices were more than fair. It was a little cool but we enjoyed hot drinks and delicious hot soup.

Slow service.

Went here impromptu suggested by a friend. Although we couldn't get seated outside the view was still amazing from our table inside. Food is spectacular and will not disappoint. Service was great. Did I mention the fabulous view of the bay? Boardwalk as well! A must go while in Maryland.

First date night out during COVID. The ambiance was beautiful, sitting outside you can see the water and the Bay Bridge. The restaurant was clean and outside everyone was socially distanced (not sure about inside). All staff was wearing face masks and patrons are required to do the same when not sitting at the table.

Food: The food was mediocre at best. Cream of crab soup was watery, crab cake was more cake than crab and just wasn’t good. We ordered appetizers, two entrees, one alcoholic beverage and the bill was $130. It was a good deal of food for that price but the problem is the food wasn’t good.

Service: Whoa, not good. Not sure what was happening, there was plenty of staff on site so it didn’t appear that they were understaffed. Our waitress would come by to “check on us” and leave the dirty dishes on the table. It took 15 minutes for her to remember to bring 1 beer, long stretches of time would pass and we didn’t hear anything about our food. Once it came it was luke warm.

By far the best time ever...wonderful menu besides who doesn’t love happy hour including the prices. Date Night again soon

I remember coming here 10 years ago and they food and service were always amazing. It was a serious let down this time. We will not be coming back. Their half and half soup was amazing but entrees were both lacking. Tasted reheated. Also, we ordered a Smith Island cake the slice was barely visible for the price we paid. We asked the waitress to put it in a box for dessert to go and were surprised to have such a small dessert for $8.00. She also took forever to bring it to us. The atmosphere is the only thing that is fabulous. Wish the food quality had stayed the same.

The food was ok , the drink weren’t good at all . Our server Matt really worked hard and gave us quality service but he could only do but so much . I don’t know if they scaled back on servers because of covid but there is no reason why we waited almost an hour to even get our order taken . One server for 6 tables is ridiculous! They need some work . Asap

Cranky server. Substandard food, but a great location. If the food matched the ambiance, this place would kill.

Loved the Rockfish Reuben!!!

Met my sister and her husband here, with my wife, cause it’s halfway between our homes. It was a beautiful day on the Bay, the server - Drew? - was excellent and the views from the top deck were outstanding. Two bald eagles flying around 200 meters from our table added to the perfect experience.

We always love coming to Hemmingways. Although it is an hour ride for us, we always enjoy

outstanding dinner. No complaints. I will geturn back

View was great. Some food was great some over cooked. Service was lacking.

Great food and location.
We wanted to sit outside but they were not very helpful (they didn't offer to open the patio's umbrellas nor allow us to switch locations once sited).
The food was excellent and our waitress was great.

Incredible views and building. I wanted to love the food so much but the crab soup was ice cold and the chili naan crab dip was also cold and it was pita bread not naan. I didn’t feel comfortable trying the entrees because of the first courses so we just watched the view and went home. I wanted to love it. The ambience is incredible.

The food was delicious but a tad pricy. The server didn’t know the menu (which is limited but lush with seafood options) and wasn’t super attentive. We did feel safe with everyone spread out and wearing masks. Wonderful view and lots of outdoor seating and photo ops.

Ridiculous rules about groups dining together. You can inside but not outside??? Makes zero sense!

First time out since the pandemic started, had a great meal, great time. Suggestion-figure out a way to keep the heat of the sun from impacting the room temp in the late afternoon, or raise the AC in the dining room. Waiter was great, can't remember his name but he was wearing a mask with a face on it.

Amazing service and food was incredible. Beautiful and peaceful location on the waterfront.

Beautiful resturant, good staff, but the food was bad. The seared tuna was so water logged and the creme brulee was more pudding then a thick creamy texture.

Jason was great! Very attentive to our needs. The food was fabulous -- as always!

Valentines Day

The food and service were excellent. Menu provided many great choices to choose from.

I was not impressed with the food. The soup was watery with very little crab and the rockfish was dry with very little sauce. I will not be returning to this restaurant in the future.

Romantic experience, sunset dinner with fabulous views of the Chesapeake Bay. Service was attentive and top notch, food was flavorful and delicious!

We went for lunch on a Saturday and it was very quiet. We got a table next to the window with a beautiful view. Service was quick and our food was delicious!

We will go again . Very good in all seasons! The atmosphere was great, food delicios and the views fantastic, we were fortunate to see a glorious sunset.

Not entire comfortable for disabled people. Outside elevator initially go stuck going to dining floor. Bathroom was fine for accessibility

I couldn’t eat the chicken on the Caesar salad-it was nothing but grizzle and the dressing didn’t seem like a Caesar dressing. The meatloaf my daughter in law had apparently wasn’t tasty either. We won’t be back until summer...

Dec 14th Sat evening, around 6pm. No sunset views this late, but views of the lights of the bridges. A lot of reflection keeps you from just looking out into the night, but you can see serenity outdoors. A light crowd for what was a rainy, cool day. Low key but comfortable. We will love to be back before sunset to see what is an incredible view of the Chesapeake Bay looking west.

Our service was very attentive, food selections right up my alley because of so many offerings. Our selected foods were as described, tasted very good and looked great.
We will definitely visit again soon to explore other meal selections. No desserts attempted since we were definitely satiated after our selections.

We went for the Thanksgiving meal. Seafood was very good but the scallops and crab cakes could be just as good elsewhere. Turkey was dry, stringbeans were overdone and mushy. Service was great, food came out faster than we could eat. Ambience was great. I'm making the food sound worse than it was. Good place to impress a date.
