This would a 5 star review but the service was slower than we would prefer
My wife and I went there around 8 on a Tuesday and found the restaurant very quiet -- not TOO quiet -- but enough so that we could hear each other. The service was attentive and friendly, the crab cakes were delightful (even to my wife who hails from the Tidewater). The vegetable slaw was original and flavorful.( My only reservation was that the slaw was tough chewing but that says more about my teeth than the slaw.) Dessert was a delicious strawberry tart with homemade ice cream. With drinks and a generous glass of wine, it came to $132. Very reasonable for a delightful evening out!
We had a lovely time at Henrietta’s Table. My partner got the duck and I got the lamb - both were delicious, flavorful, and very filling.
Great food, great service and nice atmosphere. Except for being a bit on the noisy side I highly recommend this restaurant.
We had what you could call “ the bums rush”. Had an early reservation for dinner & it was not really busy . Sat down & ordered salad & soup & drinks. Had to ask for bread when we saw other tables had it. Then our meals came immediately after a last bite of soup & salad & we felt very rushed . Told them to take the food back we were not in a rush .. of course then our meals were barely warm when they came . Brought the check as soon as we ate. Again we felt rushed. Did order coffee but no dessert as we did not want to be rushed again . Wanted a second cup of coffee & no one came back . Sat at 6:10 pm & were in the car by barely an a hour later.
Hennrieta’s Table Saturday Brunch was delicious and pleasing to all 5 at our table. I had reviewed the menu and prices before we booked the reservation and it was a bit difficult to locate in the street. The menu was varied but enough breakfast entrees to satisfy us. The food was prepared as stated and delivered hot and all at the same time. A bread basket arrives before your meal with a selection of scrumptious assortments of slices. I asked the waiter for a refill on the basket as we ate our meal and we consumed it all again. Service was non invasive and attentive . My family was very happy with my choice of this restaurant and will return.
Yes I would recommend but with reservations. The food was of good quality, but portions were varied. Two of the men who have big appetites ordered the skillet breakfast and were underwhelmed with the size of their meal. For $19 it seems like they should have been satisfied. None of us had been to HT before and looked around at the tables of other diners. Not many around us had been served yet so we had nothing to guage our expectations. A couple of us ordered the fish and had to reluctantly eat the bread on the table because it simply was not enough. Further, the sear was so hard on one side of it that we had trouble cutting through it with a knife. The orange flavored sauce was very nice and helped but it was still a disappointment. The sauce in the chili was way too sweet as was the sauce in the pulled pork and grits dish. We had two tables of 16 and one entire table was served and finished with their meal before the second table was served which was pretty awkward. Skim milk was provided for coffee instead of half and half, cream or at the very least whole milk. These small details make the difference especially since the coffee temperature cooled too much to be enjoyed. The server seemed a bit scattered with our large party. The line to approach the hostess caused a traffic jam between seats at the tall table and the seats at the bar which was difficult for the elderly members of our party. The noise level was difficult for those who have hearing problems. We were thankful for the staff to take the time to sing happy birthday to our mom. And the decor was cheerful.
Good but overpriced
Excellent food; moderate noise level. Not a romantic place but pleasant.
Already have recommended it to folks. Everything was wonderful. I’ll be back.
Quaint and lovely. An excellent spot in the heart of Harvard Square.
Good food and service - it was a little noisy but that would be true at any busy restaurant.
We had a wonderful lunch yesterday. The food was outstanding. We especially enjoyed the pate, which was HUGE. Service was great, atmosphere was great, and we loved that everything was locally sourced and farm to table, especially all of the wines being from the US. Will definitely be back!
Hi, I come to HT regularly and generally don't have any complaints--the food is always outstanding! However, I ordered the wilted greens, which I thought seemed a bit dry. An additional complaint was that my co-worker and I only had one hour for lunch, and after arriving for a 1:00PM reservation, we did not get our food until about 1:40, so we had to eat really fast! This generally doesn't happen at your restaurant, so I really don't like complaining. My co-workers Yankee pot roast was stellar, as usual. Thank you.
The food was delicious! A couple tiny missteps with service, i.e. drinks took a while to come out and there was an error on the bill, but those small things pale in comparison to the delicious food and overall great experience.
I have always had mixed feelings about Henrietta's Table and find the food uneven, but it's generally a comfortable and enjoyable place. I would recommend it, with some reservations. We got there for dinner on a Sunday a few minutes before it was officially open. We were seated right away and were brought drink menus, and water was poured. The waitress explained that it was Restaurant Week, and that we could get a great $33 deal that included a starter, entree and dessert, all chosen by us. Sounded great to us! It was a very good deal, but we had mixed reviews on the food: a starter of crab and corn soup tasted flat. A chicken liver pate was delicious, but the serving portion was enough for several meals. Entrees: a striped bass from the specials menu was tasty, but its creamy sauce was sweet--an odd combination with the fish. Prime rib was good. Desserts (chocolate bread pudding, mixed berry pie, Taza chocolate ice cream) were the best part of the meal; hats off to the pastry chef for the pie. Ambiance: for about 15-20 minutes, bread was being sliced on a very noisy slicing machine in an open kitchen area, making conversation challenging. Overall thumbs up.
WE had a nice seat in a quieter space in the back section of the restaurant surrounding a paved courtyard.
The service was good and extremely accommodating.
Portions and wine are sizable with basic food choices.
Thank you for a nice experience.
We arrived at 5:30 (in fact a bit early) and our large table was complete by about 5:45. We needed to be done close to 7 PM to attend a jazz concert at the hotel. Wine came promptly but our order was NOT TAKEN until 6:30 PM and the food arrived at 6:50 PM. We were told that we could only order one course and/or both courses would come together in order to be one in time. Totally unacceptable.
Great food and fast service
We went for DineBoston and each of us could create our own prix-fixe menu of starter/entree/dessert from ALL the choices on the regular menu!!
Everything was perfectly prepared and even more delicious than the description.
The entire staff “colluded” in bringing us ideal service. A delightful meal and, even if we had paid full price, a great deal.
Dime Boston goes on this week and next. For $33, unbelievable!
I lunch at HT about once a month with my cousin--we have been patrons for years. The food is always outstanding (I hem and haw but always end up getting the yankee pot roast...) and the services is always friendly and very professional. I will continue to lunch at HT!
The food and service is consistently good at Henrietta's Table. I also like the delicious, healthy, vegetarian options.
Always a good spot for fresh food, competently served. The daily quiche is a treat and the salads are a meal in themselves.
They invented farm to fork. The only thing is that food arrived cold. Menu is diverse and uses well flavored quality ingedients
The best things about Henrietta's Table are that it is convenient to Harvard Square (pricey parking is right downstairs in the hotel), and it has very tasty bread. After that, there's not much to recommend it - the menu hasn't changed in years, and features uninspired, bland, overpriced dishes. Often the service is good, but this time it was slow and the servers seemed as tired as the menu. We've been coming here for years just because it's easy, but as we left we all made ourselves promise not to waste our money again. It's worth taking a little more trouble to explore the other much more interesting venues the Square has to offer.
What a lovely eating experience! Excellent menu and the quiche was the best i ever had! Delcious!
Excellent meal and service. Particularly value their organic food and simplicity. I have food restrictions and they do such a great job. Noise level could be lower but this pls e is one of our go-tos. Diverse crowd.
Excellent service! Food was on point as usual. Love coming to the Charles hotel and this restaurant makes the stay even better.
This is my go to place in Harvard Square. The are first rate on all dimensions and at reasonable prices.
Went to dinner here with my husband food was over all good. It’s nothing special but we like the location.
Henrietta's Table has been a staple for out family and I always enjoy it. We always look forward to it.
Excellent service; they got us in and out quickly so that we could go to the show that followed; the food was very good and well presented
i like the ambience . the food was ok - tho the poached eggs were a bit overdone. the wait stuff can be impatient when you;re ordering, which is off-putting. and the plate they brought me wasnt quite what i'd ordered! but i will go back - just hoping that this doesnt become the norm.
Excellent food. Great service. A Cambridge gem.
Just after work dinner, always a nice experience at Henrietta’s Table.
The were uniformly helpful and honored my request for a quiet table; I am hard of hearing.
Very accommodating for a group coming to celebrate a birthday. We had a comfortable table in the corner of the room. Service was attentive and gave us a good, relaxed pace for the meal, Including a pause for our gift giving before presenting, with candles and song, a custom cake we had brought for the guest of honor. The server then took the cake away and brought it back with slices and ice cream added for each member of our party. Of course the food was of the usual high quality for this restaurant.
Cozy place for breakfast or lunch in the heart of Harvard Square, Cambridge. Excellent service and delicious food. Will visit again.
The salmon was soggy. The side of roasted potatoes for $5 was very small in size. The amount of food you got for the price was not substantial. Very disappointing. We got there for an early 5:30 reservation on a Sunday night. The restaurant had only one table occupied which included a small toddler and cranky baby. To our surprise we were seated right beside the loud toddler . We asked to move to the other side of the room. It’s just common sense not to seat 3 adults beside loud kids when the restaurant is empty. Disappointing experience. I left still hungry.
Food was superb as was the service.
I think next time I will opt for a later time as it was pretty noisy at 1 PM.
I had been concerned about where to park. I called the garage under the hotel several times and got a recording that they would return my call, but never did. I would think that the garage would give you more than a $2 discount stamp, though. Also, there was no parking attendant at the cashier location. We had to wait a few minutes for her to return so that we could pay and leave the garage.
I enjoyed all the foods that I tried--there were so many. Although, I was pleased with so many, maybe if you had fewer items, you could lower the price of the buffet. I would come more often if it were less expensive.
Wonderful place to meet friends for a leisurely Saturday lunch. Attentive service and excellent food. One of our friends is in a wheelchair and it is accessible and comfortable place for her.
