Our History: Dating back to 1740, this stone building, formerly called the "Sign of the Spread Eagle", was a "Stage Tavern". It was one of the better inns along the 62 miles of turnpike stretching from Philadelphia to Lancaster, and catered to the more prosperous class of travelers, providing him with accommodations suited to his means. Fine liquors and fine foods were served in generous portions to satisfy the hearty appetites generated by a long day in a rocking, jolting stagecoach. We continue that tradition!
Through the generations, the Revere Tavern has preserved this tradition of quality and abundance. Our family, the Cosgroves, have owned the property for over 55 years and we thank you for your business!

September 22, 1990. We got married, had our reception there. The food was great.
31 years later to the day September 22, 2021. We returned to have one of the best meals, service and experiences. Its a great restaurant, tavern and a great place to stay. It is a rare thing to have a place to be around 30 years later. I am glad it is still there and doing well.

We weren’t all that hungry so ended up getting drinks and appetizers and a dessert to go. The entrees looked good Based on the appetizers, I’m sure they were very good. We had seared tuna and then the bruschetta. Both were fresh and had lots of flavor.

We were in a room that seemed very basic but did notice when we left another dining area that looked much nicer. So guess the ambience depends on where you are seated

This was our first time at the Historic Revere Tavern. We were delighted with everything. Our service was a little slow, but Travis was most apologetic about the wait for our food. I am assuming you were a little short staffed with the ongoing pandemic. We will be back!

I ordered the crab cakes & my husband ordered the prime rib. He was happy with the prime rib which he ordered rare & that's how he got it. But my crab cakes had so many little crab shells that I could not eat the second one. To the manager's credit, however, she comped me my whole entree & gave me a free dessert of my choice. I did eat the salad & the mashed potatoes & found the potatoes a bit on the salty side. It was a nice quiet atmosphere & the service was good, but the crab cake experience ruined it for me.

The crab cakes were not the best. I sent the snapper soup back. The texture was great but it was a beef gravy no snapper taste at all.

Great ambience Service was great and the food was excellent. My husband got the prime rib, and I got the scallops. We had boneless wings as an appetizer but only ate half. By the time we had finished out salad and dinner (my husband didn't finish the prime rib and took it home) we had no room for dessert!

We were seated in the historic part of the building. The food as delicious. The staff went out of their way to help us have a belated (due to Covid last year!) 50th anniversary dinner. One of the chef's even brought us out some flowers from the garden. The tomato bisque soup was the best we have ever had. My husbands prime rib was a perfect medium rare. My scallops served on spinach risotto were very good.

We enjoyed the tavern! Service was quick and the food was tasty! We liked the fried mozzarella and boneless wings appetizers. My husband said his chicken sandwich was very good! I got the tenderloin tips and they were okay. I asked for medium and it was, but it was drowned in gravy and mushrooms and onions. I wouldn’t order it again. But everything tasted good and the staff was all very friendly and good at their jobs. We would go back if we are in the area again!

Always looked like an interesting place to have dinner being a historical landmark. But I was disappointed with my meal and so were my guests. Food was less than average. Steak was over cooked and not a good restaurant quality. I would not return and suggest customers look elsewhere for a better meal. Not worth the the price.

Impeccable Service! The staff attending to us (waitress and bus lady) were perfect. Every time a glass of water was 1/4 full it was refilled, shorty after each drink/course was delivered, we were checked on; the check was available immediately on request. We wanted for nothing. This level of service was exceptional.

The food was fine, not great, but fine.

Spent a couple of days in Intercourse Pa. Saw an ad for this restaurant and read the positive reviews. Decided to give it a try. What a great choice!!! Great ambiance, super service and delicious food. The corn/crab chowder was outstanding, and their prime rib was the best we’ve ever had.

This restaurant was top notch in every way. Great atmosphere, wonderful service, and incredibly delicious food and drinks. We went with 3 couples during our visit to the Amish country. Every one of us was extremely pleased with our meals. Each item on the menu was tempting and it was difficult to make a choice. We ordered cocktails and sangria - all great. We started by sharing two orders of Bruschetta. My husband had the crab cake dinner which he really enjoyed. A few of us had the Beef Burgundy Tenderloin Tips which were amazing. The combination of the tender beef topped with frizzled onions, gravy, and mashed potatoes and green beans was so delicious. We all had the special Berry Cobbler with home-made whipped cream - yummy! I would highly recommend this establishment for anyone who enjoys a great meal.
