I took a friend to dinner for her birthday. We arrived at 7pm and the restaurant was still fairly empty which was nice but as it got later the restaurant became very busy. The noise level went up tremendously and so did the temperature inside. It was unpleasant hot.
The waiter was very attentive and did everything to make us welcomed and comfortable. I was a little disappointed of the food. It was good but not outstanding. But therefore the prices are also decent.
I was asked when making the reservation (on open table) about the occasion but it obviously didn’t get forwarded to the restaurant that it was a birthday dinner. No little candle😟
The food is always fresh and delicious, tonight did not disappoint. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal, topped off by berries and gelato. What a perfect ending to a wonderful dinner.
I had reservation. Went in and as soon as we sat we ordered dinner. It took way too long for the food to get to us and when I asked the waitress to check on the food because we were waiting for so long she said” oh you did not order appetizers and that is why it feels long” Are you kidding me?? From then on she gave us an attitude and did not check on us. The food was sub standard. Very disappointing
One of our favorite go-to spots. Delicious food and great service
Both food and service were fantastic!
We eat here a lot and it’s always good. However this time service was so bad we couldn’t really enjoy our dinner.
Ravioli with burrata, porcini and truffle sauace was fabulous! Tricolore salad excellent. Great special occasion place.
I wish they would add more vegan options to the menu. The chef is very good, but few choices for those who are vegan. Thanks.
My family and I come here all the time. The food and service are always incredible and it's usually fairly easy to get a table. One of my favorite restaurants in LA.
Great local Italian restaurant! We generally don’t eat a lot of pasta and found great fish to enjoy. For the special occasion we ordered the burrata ravioli and the pumpkin ravioli...Yum!
First time at this restaurant. Ordered Polenta with Porcini mushrooms. A bowl, filled to the top with hot polenta arrived, with a drizzling of what seemed like reconstituted porcini mushrooms. This for $23! Must have been ten mushroom slices. Next course Dover Sole. This could have been frozen and defrosted, if not tasted like it. It was very dry and disappointing. Again overprices at $40 something. Did not bother with dessert.
I brought nine of my family members for a lovely...delicious meal! We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.
So nice and charming restaurant, there are many Italians but this I found really special and really tasty food!
Great food and service. The employees are wonderfull and made it more fun to dine.
Food and service was excellent. We sat in the corner, which was just fine but there were all kinds of stains on the wall. So, I chose the seat with my back to it. Otherwise, it would have felt gross to eat there. I would go again, but sit away from the wall, bc the food and the service were terrific.
The service, the food, and the ambiance were wonderful. I ate there the week before and could not wait to get back to have the same dinner - the bread salad and the papardelle with porcini mushrooms.
Our party of six was squeezed into a table that was too small, pinning us against a back wall, and then discovered we were sitting on an entire broken bottle of olive oil with puddles of oil and broken glass at our feet. When we complained, the maitre d’ shrugged and suggested we were to blame even though we had an intact bottle on our table. Ruined shoes were the only reward for the dislocation and inconvenience of our party while the staff attempted to clean up the mess. The food was not good enough to make up for an over crowded restaurant, noisy ambiance and rude treatment.
Wonderful meal, very loud and the service was not great.
Delicious as always.
Great service, delicious food. I highly recommend. For some reason, my reservation was cancelled an hour before the reserved time, but I called and I was able to re reserve with now problems.
Way to loud. Ruined the evening. We will not return
Our favorite restaurant in Los Angeles! We were celebrating a birthday and had asked for a table upstairs (nicer tables and better acoustics than the main floor) they told us that unfortunately, two large parties had taken up a the tables upstairs and we were seated downstairs. We were still waiting for a fourth member of our party so we had some wine while we waited. When he finally arrived, I asked the server if anything had opened up upstairs. She told us they made room for a table for us upstairs and the staff brought all our things for us. The food, as always, was delicious but this extra service made us love this restaurant all the more!
We love this restaurant and always have a wonderful experience.
Mediocre food, very noisy, pricey for very average Italian food...good midway meeting place for valley/city friends to dine...just don't expect great food
This is a nice little restaurant in a pleasing warm location if you are looking for a small restaurant outside of the metropolitan busy Beverly Hills area. Sadly, as much as I wanted to like the restaurant everyone in our party thought the food was of lesser quality than we were expecting.
We arrive at 8:45 on Saturday night restaurant was full Salvatore was very polite and attentive he advised us it would be at most a 25 min wait we sat down in 15 the food was outstanding we live in BH this will be our new destination
Absolutely amazing. New favorite restaurant ever. Would recommend to anyone looking for a nice night out with amazing service and food.
Service & food was epic. My new go to spot. *
My all time favorite Italian Restaurant. It has never failed me. It is consistent, always tastes good, service is always on, the manager is always attentive and paying attention and the ambiance is perfect. I love this place.
Food was great! Service which is always most important was very attentive. I am going back for sure.
Always wonderful food; consistent. Pleasant atmosphere. Excellent OSSO BUCCA
Great neighborhood place. It's tucked away in the back of the Beverly Glen Center and offers a wide range of Italian dishes. Everything was terrific and very good value. It's my go to place for dinner.
Overall, Il Segreto did not meet our expectations. We were hoping for a unique dining experience with exceptional food. However, dining at Il Segreto is similar to dining at many of the trendy, upscale Italian restaurants around Los Angeles. The vibe is energetic, the food is good (not exceptional) and the staff is courteous, but obviously overworked.
Wow... now the restaurant is doing so well, it's always crowded and loud. Impossible to get any service... What happened to my quiet neighborhood restaurant?
We’re seated outside so not sure how the inside was. Surprised that I was never asked if I wanted more wine. Food was very goo though
We arrived on time with our guests. There were several tables inside that we not taken, however, the hostess was so nasty and wouldn't give us an inside table. We had had our reservation for a long time and I called to reconfirm that day. The food was good, but after being treated as we were, I just wanted to finish dinner and never come back. I even told them it was a birthday, but they never brought anything to sing to.
Marvelous food. Everything was delicious.
There is a few of real italian restaurants in town, and this one is part of them.
The ambiance, the deco, the food, the waiters .... felt like in Italy.
Would recommend it 100 times !
