We had a great time! Jonathan was terrific as our server and really made things fun. Food was very good and reasonably priced. LOVED the famous RoosTart dessert! We will go back again!
As always a great breakfast! My only comment would be to have options to add or substitute fresh fruit for the included home fries. I saw no sides of fresh fruit anywhere on the menu.
Eh not the best. Been there before and it was really good. Guess they just had an off day.
My husband and I just got into town for a weekend get away. We hit traffic and we’re 15 min late to our reservation but we were met with smiles and seated promptly regardless.
Food was delish. I’d skip the apple crisp next time. But no complaints otherwise!
Me and my wife enjoyed our 1st experience at the Iron Rooster. Service was great and the food was really good. They have things your traditional breakfast place does not.
Went for breakfast. Everyone liked their food. The breakfast quesadilla was really good. Had the dessert bacon as an appetizer- definitely the way to go. Only problem was that it took a long time to get our food.
It was good but the server forgot to bring us part of our order then made a comment about how much we ate -I don’t appreciate that. When we asked for water for our six year old she acted like it was an inconvenience.
Service was ok. The dining area was a bit cold but always love the food and drinks at iron rooster.
Tables were far enough apart from other guests. Food was good - we ordered breakfast, and the eggs seemed a little cold and the turkey bacon was a little rubbery. The french toast was great.
Absolutely wonderful dining experience!!! My family’s favorite.
Our breakfast was hot and delicious. There was a delay on one item from the kitchen, and a mistake on another. Our server, Chelsea, was fantastic and took care of everything smoothly. We’ll be back again soon!
We went for breakfast and it was filling. Started off with the Roo Tart (mixed berry) to apply for 2. We each ordered a dish (chicken/waffles, chicken/pancakes) and it was a loooooot of food. I bet we could have split an entree and had a “side”.
The service was nice and our server Chelsea told my soon to be midshipmen that if he ever needed a meal, come on by. We will definitely be back over the next 4 years.
We really like Iron Rooster and I've been here many times. We are big fan of the roostarts, this time we chose the brown sugar one. It is probably our least favorite. The mixed berry is much better. The icing on the brown sugar tart was too much and the filling was too grainy. I got the basic breakfast and ask for the upgrade to the biscuit which I usually love here. But the biscuit was undercooked and kind of doughy ...really disappointed about that because I was looking forward to it. But overall we really like this place and they have really good food and we will be back again.
Loved our waiter Cali and loved the chicken and waffles.
Excellent food served by a lovely waitress, Jess. Cute and cozy ambiance. The fried chicken is incredibly good! I’ve tried to make fried chicken in the past and haven’t had much success. From now on I plan on eating all my fried chicken at the Iron Rooster. 😁
I had high hopes for the Iron Rooster. We were there for brunch a couple of years ago and it was good. This time, I was not happy with my orders at all. I got the fried chicken with pancakes. The chicken is dry with an overly thick batter. The pancakes are ok but definitely not of homemade quality. I thought the homefries came with bacon. It turns out, the brown stuff is the overcooked potatoes stuck to the grill. Maybe some people like that, but I don't. Did I mention, they have no flavor? I could have had better fried chicken at Popeye's. My husband got the chicken parm, which is really just fried chicken with a piece of cheese on top and sauce. He skipped the pasta altogether. It used to be so hard to get a reservation at this place. I thought it was just my luck, I got one right away. I should have known. When we don't get to go out as much as we do, it's just not right when the experience falls way short of the expectations.
A friend and I decided to have lunch. I had an Impossible Burger and Brussel Sprouts... the Brussel Sprouts weren’t cooked and very oily (forgot to take a photo) and my Impossible Burger was dry and not well seasoned. Our waiter however was very nice.
Celebrating daughters birthday! Great welcome upon entering, food was flavorful and filling. Waitress was personable and friendly, but too chatty, enough to not get your request in before she walked away. Manager B. Furrow was also a great host. He answered questions and gave a mini tour for a future private gathering. Overall, we’ll be returning!
Love this place!
I went to Iron Rooster with my wife and two small babies for an early dinner, the service was amazing and quick. The food was amazing to say the least, I had the Crab hash, it left me wanting more of it...my wife had the chicken and pancakes which were better then you could imagine. We both said we’d bring our house guests there, our new favorite local restaurant.
Delicious food and great service from Miles! Would definitely go back!
Due to covid, iron rooster is pretty quiet in the mornings. The service was friendly and excellent. Food is 4/5, and the pop tarts are the star of the show.
We were able to sit outside in February with propane heaters close to the table. Food was good and the service was really good. It’s right by the city dock so it’s also a great location and during the week, it’s not crowded.
Menu is great and food well prepared and served with a smile. Crab hash is excellent, a lot of food and my guest had the chicken Parmasen sub with fries. Looked good! Finally, everyone was taking COVID precautions seriously and truly appreciate it. Will be back
Our food was delicious! Wine was great, great price. Everything was clean and socially distanced. I would highly recommend!
I loved the manager, we were running late. No problem he said. Our waitress amazing. My daughters 32nd bday so poptarts and mimosas. Perfect Morning. Thank you. The Zimmermans
they accommodated well given the current circumstances
The RoosTart was great but chicken pot pie and salmon were very bland. The host and hostess were incredibly kind and funny! When we got there the restaurant was practically empty. Our server was nice but seemed like she didn’t want to serve us and only got us refills when we specifically asked her for them. She didn’t prebuss our table until we pushed it all the way to the side. Overall it was good but it definitely wasn’t what everyone makes it out to be.
Perfect date afternoon. We sat early for our reservation and were treated with care and attention by Amber. She is a great server and gave us the right suggestions and guided us perfect through our experience.
We had quite a bit of space to ourselves. We got wonderful service and fantastic food. 5 stars!
I have been to brunch, which is very good, but had never visited for dinner. The "supper" selections were very creative, the server was attentive, and social distancing was sufficient. I was on a first date, and we were impressed!
Only reservation available was at 715pm and we felt very rushed as the server kept reminding us they were closing at 8pm. If I would have known they closed at 8pm, I would have never made a reservation for 715pm.
Lighting was too bright and not as I remember the restaurant was from visits from a few years ago. T
Also, the crust on the chicken pot pie was very tough. Again I have had this pie at least 5 times in the past, and it was always excellent.
I was super excited to have breakfast for dinner here and was UNDERWHELMED. The waitress was great and attentive but the food was the issue. Me & my son ordered the Chicken & French Toast. Lackluster is the best way to describe it, the toast was similar to what I make at home and there was like a bare dusting of powdered sugar on top. I opted for roasted Brussels Sprouts as my side. Horrible, soggy and cold. I should have sent it back but I didn’t. The only thing that saved our experience was the Waffle Churros! They were a hit!!!
A great place to eat breakfast / brunch. Awesome dishes. I had the crab hash, never had such an amazing dish. Full of flavors. Highly recommend it.
Perfect hidden gem that services delicious food and personable service!
Funky spot with good food and service.
We were there for a late dinner. Outside dining can get chilly with the breeze at night (bring a sweater/jacket!), but the ambiance was lively, and there was music and lots of energy. We made a reservation and our table was ready on time, and we were not rushed by the staff at all. I've eaten here several times and highly recommend ordering anything on the menu that includes fried chicken. I generally don't eat fried food, but it is worth it!!
It was very nice, however our waiter was a little persistent at first. We had only order drinks and I kept saying it will be a while. My friend and I were catching up on life. She just wanted us to order and after we did she left us alone. When I went to the bathroom I saw mice. Not something I want to see after eating. They ran back to the kitchen. Food and drinks were amazing
Mimosas very good, slightly over priced food
Waiter service was a bit sketchy....took along time to first come to the table, then forgot to bring sweetner as requested until reminded. Also took a long time to bring the check. Other than that it was a nice experience.
