It’s Italia opened in 1997 as a San Francisco style trattoria and pizzeria serving gourmet pizzas, house pastas, and creative salads, always with a California Italian flavor.Thirteen years later, having moved into the beautiful Half Moon Bay Inn on Main Street Half Moon Bay, our menu has expanded to include seafood and meat selections from our rotisserie and mesquite grill, artful pastas and award winning pizza, creative salads and antipasti, and an array of house desserts. A Tuscan style courtyard patio with fireplaces and a fountain is ideal for large parties and receptions. Our full bar and locally famous bartenders create a lively social ambience nightly. Well! I don't know where to start! Just chaos! - Wrong order -The food wasn't good at all! -Lack of proper lighting outside! -They ruined a surprise before bringing the candle, etc! -Weak service compared to other Italian restaurants. I had more expectations! I do not recommend this place.

Everything about it’s Italia was fantastic yesterday! We went when they opened at 4pm, so it was very nice and quiet. The food and the service were fantastic and I will definitely go again and again!

Hadn’t been to this restaurant ever but it turned out to be great. The service was impeccable. The food and drinks were delicious. Would definitely go there again on my next visit to Half Moon Bay.

We visited It's Italia twice while staying at the Ritz in Half Moon Bay. Great value and great food. We love the decor. You feel like you walked into Italy and the pasta tastes like you really are in Italy. You won't be disappointed!

The food is other worldly. This place is a discovery in HMB. The house music soundtrack loop is fantastic. The service is superb. A bit pricey but the food taste is worth it. We come all the way from the east bay for date night just to experience the ambience, service, and food at its Italia! You will not be disappointed. They also have Pliney the Elder on tap. I mean come on!!

Service is great everyone very friendly. I ordered the artichoke ravioli it was delicious. My husband ordered a rib eye steak with bone in it was cooked med rare like he wanted but it was way over salted which overpowered the flavor of his stake the side that came with it was Swiss chard it was bitter and way undercooked. also came with small new potatoes very disappointing especially when the price was $59.00 for his order. you would think a baked potato and a nice veg would come with that dish. We had gone to Its Italia about a month ago I ordered the same dish (artichoke ravioli) my husband ordered the lasagna it had no layers of cheese or anything else he could taste just very spicey. our salad was delicious very fresh. Don't think we will be going .

It's Italia is one of the best Italian restaurants we've been to in a long time. The drinks were great, wine blended with our food perfectly, our meals were delicious, servers and host treated us like family and ambience was romantic. Beautiful interior and great looking bar. Can't wait to return.

Excellent fresh fish entrees especially the halibut. Cauliflower and pepper dish before dinner was yummy. Waitress and servers (water, servings bar drinks) was also excellent. Will come back again soon.

We had a great experience. We started with some interesting cocktails. We shared the beet salad and risotto and they were perfectly prepared. Finished off with Key Lime pie, also delicious. Great service and outside ambience as well. A keeper.

We have been going to It's Italia for a number of years and always enjoyed it, which is why we were so surprised at our experience for brunch on 8/13. As we were seated, my husband left to go to the restroom. He came back in less than 5 minutes, and we waited another 10-15 minutes for our order to be taken. We were surprised to see a waiter take the order of a large group next to us, who were just seated. My husband asked the busboy who our waiter was, and he pointed to the waiter taking the order (Eduardo). My husband also said we were seated before this group. Eduardo, who was in the middle of taking the large group order, yelled over at my husband and said he'd get to us, but that my husband was in the restroom. My husband said yes, but he's been seated now for at least 10 minutes, and Eduardo had come out to the patio (where we were seated) at least twice after and not taken our order. He also was taking the order of the large group where two members were also in the restroom. We were shocked that Eduardo rudely yelled at us from the other table and it caused many diners to stare in our direction. We were not treated very kindly and will not be back. We also were not happy to pay the 18 percent gratuity automatically added to our check when the server did not deserve that.

We started out with the free focaccia -- a nice touch. Then we shared orders of seafood risotto and osso buco. The risotto was in an excellently flavored sauce, but with overcooked shrimp. The osso buco was wonderfully tender, nicely sauced, served over delicate polenta, but too salty. The wine list was not huge, but after a couple of taste samples, gladly offered by our server, we found a good white and red to accompany our differing main dishes. Overall, a very enjoyable experience.

We were there 30 mins early and waited at the bar. When the table was ready, the hostess did not come to inform us but we gotta go back to the entrance to ask, while the 2 hostesses were just chitchatting… Servers and bartenders provided amazing services. The clams and mussels are real good, but the meatball spaghetti and mushroom chicken pasta are disappointing…

I love this restaurant but tonight was just a bad night. Unfortunately the service was poor. Although my waiter was nice, he was not attentive at all. After waiting 20 min for my salad, he stopped by to tell me they are still working on it. 20 min later.. still nothing he has not checked on me, or given me more water. What really upset me was he was attentive to others. My assumption is I was eating alone and well just not a priority. Another waiter came out, and I asked what was going on. He said let me get your waiter. Waiter comes out and says sorry they were packing it to go. This made no sense, I have a table , water, bread, and have been waiting 40 min for a simple salad. He brings me my salad and the pasta I order . He did ask if I wanted the pasta to be kept warm, so that was good, but i was already frustrated due to the wait and lack of attentiveness. To top all this off… 3 people come and sat right near me. I was on the patio, so pretty, and peaceful. The man had a cough and kept snorting like he had mucus caught in his throat. It was so disgusting. This went on throughout my meal. I couldn’t wait to get out of there. This was definitely the worst experience I have had here. I have never felt the waitresses/waiters were friendly and fun, but not rude either, just overall ok. I have been to It’s Italia dozens of times as it’s one of my favorite restaurant in HMB, as I love the food and patio seating. I’m not giving up on it, but I am definitely going to start checking out some other restaurants.

Food was authentic and delicious, with a menu that satisfied everyone. Nice ambience and decor. We were having a reunion of sorts, and the waitstaff gave us lots of time and space while still taking good care of us. I would go again!

We were outside and there were lots of empty tables so it was nice and quiet. It can get noisier inside. They had no iced tea which I found to be quite unusual. They could do something clever with it. It really is a staple when dining out. Otherwise, I live It's Italia! It is a local favorite.
