    My wife and I ordered the same petite filet mignon, medium. Hers was as expected, melt in your mouth tender. Mine was chewy and tough. We made this reservation for a special event as we’ve done each year so complaining about a bad steak and having them replace it was not an option without ruining the evening. We’ve stopped going to other steak houses due to bad steaks. We will add this to the list to avoid.

    Our waitress Monica had us feel welcomed. Better than Fleming’s or Morton’s in my opinion. Everything was truly amazing. My partner got a free dessert for her birthday and I highly recommend going and trying the crème brûlée

    I have dined at J. Gilbert’s on many occasions, and my experiences have always been pleasant, with excellent food and service. Unfortunately, my most recent visit was disappointing and did not meet the standards I have come to expect. The steak I ordered was tough and tasteless, unlike the flavorful and tender steaks I have enjoyed in the past. Additionally, the smoked Old Fashioned, which I always look forward to, lacked its signature smoky flavor and was subpar. The service was equally disappointing. My husband and I experienced an unusually long wait for our food. Approximately 20 minutes after we placed our order, a party of four arrived and was seated. Even though they ordered well after us, they received their meals about 10 minutes before we received ours. What made this particularly frustrating was that we had the same server, and no explanation was offered for the delay. As longtime customers, we have always considered J. Gilbert’s a restaurant where we could expect quality food and excellent service. Unfortunately, this experience fell far short of those expectations. The lengthy wait, the noticeable decline in food quality, and the fact that a party arriving considerably later was served before us left us feeling disregarded. I am extremely disappointed and, at this point, do not anticipate returning anytime soon, if at all.

    Had the 6oz filet with sea scallops. Delicious! Filet was like butter! Only recommendation I would suggest is to go a little easier on the salt. Joey, our server was attentive without being intrusive. Had a lovely evening with friends. Highly recommend J Gilberts!

    My experience for my Birthday dinner at J. Gilbert’s was amazing as usual. Our server Raven was super friendly and very knowledgeable about the menu and specials. The center cut filet was so delicious with the truffle butter that Raven recommended. The star of evening was the 24 layer chocolate cake.
