Jackson Fillmore Trattoria
The food was VERY disappointing (inedible). My meal (pollo saltimbocca) did not resemble in any way my selection. The chicken was nothing more than a chicken tender beaten to rubber, the prosciutto was in fact burnt Canadian bacon. The chicken was not rolled or breaded or layered and there was no cheese - all the components of a pollo saltimbocca. Nothing else was served with the rubber chicken and it cost $23.75! I have never written a negative review in all the years of going to various SF restaurants, so the fact that I'm doing so now speaks volumes.
What a gem. Off the charts comfortable, delicious, authentic, unpretentious, accommodating. We had a birthday party with 7 people, and we felt like we were in Italy.
We have been there many times for different. Food is always consistently good. We highly recommend the stuffed artichoke with bread crumbs and prosciutto as well as the chicken and sausage plate....yum!!!
Homemade style yummy Italian Food
Super nice cozy meal. Love the neighborhood atmosphere. The food was good - simple/comfort.
Not the best time but still good. Would appreciate a vegan option for my daughter.
Great local restaurant with great food. Fish was fresh and well seasoned. Service was beyond great. Had a Chocolate Tartufo for desert. Probably the best I have ever had locally.
Great food and service as always.
Can't beat it! It's like stepping into a fabulous, authentic restaurant in Firenze.
Food was ok. Portion ok. Service ok. Too over 40 mins to get food and one entree didn’t come until we we were almost done
Great meal and ambience. Got the roasted chicken with the capers and the lemon. It was delicious.
Been coming here for 30 years. The food is still very good...good wine list, great atmosphere. Like coming home.
Always delish, especially the zucchini, Park, toasted almond app they serve. Service was great, will be back soon!
Amazing food, great service. Rely upon Casey’s knowledge of Italian Wines when picking them out to complement your food.
Very casual neighborhood gem. The Italian food was excellent and homemade.
The hostess was a bit kurt and unpleasant; however our waitstaff was great!
A little disappointed that we were there celebrating a college graduation /birthday and paid for own dessert even though it was noted in our Open-table reservation! 🤔😌
If you know, you know. Get there soon before the techies make it their staple.
Great to be back after 20 plus years- inadvertently made a reservation for 3 instead of 2 and were forced to wait for 45 minutes but it was worth it!!
Feels like a family run business—everyone very nice —fast service, good food—
This is one of my favorite restaurants, Great Every Time!
Friendly and fresh - attentive service and authentic flavors. Reminded me of being in Italy.
Jackson Fillmore used to be a lively, vibrant restaurant where the food was meticulously prepared. Unfortunately now it feels tired. A place where there are no surprises.
Horrible. Tasted like fast food Italian. There are many options in SF. This restaurant I'd avoid.
I live in the neighborhood, but I had never taken my boyfriend to dinner here. For his birthday, I made a reservation--I highly recommend making one. The food is very traditional Italian. I mean we started with fried mozzarella. It wasn't sticks, it was a plate of mozzarella.
For our main meals, my boyfriend had the spaghetti with cream sauce and prosciutto. I had the eggplant. Both were out of this world. I think my favorite part was the fudge torte. It was absolutely amazing. It is worth whatever splurge of a diet it requires. Or extra heart pills. worth it!
This is the best Italian in San Francisco. The spaghetti carbonara is outstanding. Love the ambiance, staff is very friendly. Highly recommend!!
Still great after all these years!
Wonderful Italian food in a cozy, neighborhood restaurant
Always solid and heartwarming
Lots of little issues with our meal. First, we arrived on time for our 8:45 reservation but weren't seated until after 9pm. Then we tried to order calamari but they were out. They also have a disappointingly small beer list — just two options. They also strangely had undercharged us for something — I think maybe initially charged us for 2 beers when we had ordered 3 — and awkwardly took the bill back to adjust it up.
Used to be my favorite restaurant in SF. I found the waiter to be pompous. The staff removed our dishes too fast so we couldn't even stop them and we couldn't finish our food. It felt extremely rushed and unrelaxing. We had reservations and were celebrating a 50th birthday.
We could see that they wanted to seat other guests. I will not recommend this restaurant to anyone any longer.
Yummy food. The zucchini appetizer is Devine. Tortellini is rich comfort goodness.
refreshing option for san franciscans -- jackson fillmore focuses on making great food, rather than building an instagrammable experience. this hole-in-the-wall neighborhood joint offers delicious italian fare at a reasonable price point. DO NOT leave without ordering at least one slice of their tiramisu -- it is heavenly!
Always a great evening there, never disappoints. Will visit again next time we’re in the city
From the warm welcome we received until the check was paid, our service could not have been better. The waiter was knowledgeable about the menu items, and had no problem with us bringing our own wine and opening and graciously pouring it for us. The food was delicious. I love this place.
yes but very noisy not for hearing aid waering people
not on tuesday s
Such a wonderful neighborhood gem - we are regulars and appreciate that this place has been here for such a long time, is always busy (booking needed) because the food and service are excellent, and everyone in the neighborhood is grateful to have an affordable place to dine at on Fillmore St.
Food was excellent... atmosphere was the perfect back in time experience of a neighborhood restaurant. Service was fast. All-in-all Superb... will always be a come-back place when I visit SF.
So authentic. So good.
