Joe Theismann's Restaurant
Great food for a great price. Excellent service. We went twice in one week while at our conference.
We love Joe T’s...best restaurant at the Metro station-end of Old Town!
Great meal, great service, great atmosphere!
went for Brunch and the World Cup Finals - the service was very good considering the place was jammed - food was ok, my hash browns were dry, eggs were good - but they forgot the english muffins. Bloody Marys were fine and the beer was cold. the caramel glazed apple doughnuts are just little balls, but are very good, would recommend them just know they are small.
Excellent service and food!
Restaurant experience was excellent. Bartender was really loud and he could be heard throughout the establishment. Food was great.
Great place to eat. Wine was awesome and the people helping us was outstanding
Great food. Excellent service. Perfect atmosphere.
The service was great! The food was just... Eh. Probably won't come back.
Good dinner out in Alexandria.
This was our 3rd time at Theismann’s and will be our last. Our waiter took a long time to take our drink order, food order, and to bring our food. We had a party of 5, so it wasn’t and extremely large party and the dinner was on a Thursday night, so the restaurant wasn’t extremely busy. I ordered a portobello mushroom sandwich and the sandwich was filled. Two of us ordered fries and they were cold. Overall disappointed in the service and the food.
There were multiple available tables for two yet we were seated right next to the entrance. I felt like we were seated in the lobby. It was awful and loud and intrusive to have people standing next to us who were waiting to be seated. Ruined the experience for us.
If you're looking for nice size portions of food, I suggest one of the sandwiches or a steak meal. The burgers are awesome here!
Food was mediocre, my order was wrong and had to be redone and it took a long time. Servers were pleasant but slow service.
My wife and I went for our 20th Anniversary. I'm a Redskin fan so I had been wanting to go since 2012 when we moved to Maryland. It was worth the wait. We were seated right away. We had a reservation but either way it was not that busy when we got there. Our waiter Chad was great. He gave a warm welcome and made recommendations on both appetizers and entrees. He came to the table often to check on us. One of the managers came by to talk to us, as well and congratulated us on our anniversary. We talked for a few minutes. As a gift for our 20th we were given complimentary dessert. The food was outstanding! I got the prime ribeye and my wife got the overnight beef short ribs. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone. A great experience. We will be back!
Highly recommend! Excellent service! Food was great! We sat outside and really enjoyed the sights and sounds; even with metro renovations ongoing it was still very enjoyable. Only negative is we rode in our motorcycles and the parking garage sensor would not activate to let us in (probably due to the limited weight of the motorcycle), so we had to pay for parking along the street.
Excellent in all ways
A bit pricy for the quality and quantity of food.
Service was awful! Food was not great and I will not be returning.
Great waiter who gave us his recommendations which were very good. Nice atmosphere. Overall, great experience!
Need BIGGER STEAK options like a 40oz bone in ribeye.
We had a great time at Joe Theismann's Restaurant while visiting Alexandria. The food was great and our server, Selma, was absolutely fantastic!
Good, but I expected better. Service was very good as expected. Food was good, not great, warm, but not hot. Didn’t help that we were seating at one the 2 topper tables in a row along the wall, so missed the art, sports entertainment and decor. For this having Joe Theismann’s name and the menus pricing, I expected more.
Good food, nice atmosphere, little loud but great service. I'd go back.
Food has deteriorated since change of ownership. French Onion Soup has gone from really good to really bad. Others have mentioned changes in menu and food way below what it was previously. Sorry, we used to enjoy this place.
Great Sunday Brunch!
Food was good but server was a bit slow and not as friendly as could be
Was very disappointed for the menu changed as well as their wine list. The food choices were not as good as before. Will not be going back.
Loved it! Great food, location, and wait staff.
Full disclosure: in general, I don't like restaurants that feature multiple TVs. Theismann's does, all tuned to a sports event, which came as no surprise given the name of the restaurant. However, we were tired after a day of sightseeing, it was late, and it was the closest restaurant to our hotel other than the restaurant IN the hotel, which didn't appeal to us. And, the online menu looked varied, simple and understandable enough that we thought we could enjoy a light, basic meal. We did. I had Maryland crabcakes, which were excellent, my husband had a steak salad, also excellent. The service was good, the restaurant was nearly empty and thus quiet, and mercifully, although every TV was turned on, their sound was muted. All said, Theismann's was a pleasant surprise.
Business dinner two nights in a row (because it was so good the first night).
I would describe the environment as a more upscale sports bar environment. Very comfortable, great service and good food.
Ravonn, our server, was excellent! He had excellent suggestions and was a delight!
We were seated promptly. The wait staff were friendly without hovering to much. This was a late mother's day dinner since we were not able to Sunday. We ordered the crab dip for an app. The strip steak with a crabcake, the KC ribs, and the fish and chips. Crabcake was all meat, steak was cooked to perfection, and the ribs fall off the bone. The fish was not properly drained of the oil. The manager promptly bought a whole new plate. Everything was good. I've been here before and will return whenever I can.
Great food great atmosphere but the service was a bit slow. Maybe because it was Mother’s Day? Overall great experience though.
They were 45 minutes late seating us for a confirmed 12:30 pm brunch seating. We both ordered blueberry pancakes with bacon. Only one came and we were given a plate to share this one until the other order could arrive (approximately 20 minutes later). A horrible experience with the exception of the countenance of our waitress. Also, the food was terrible. We will not be back
This was a Mother's Day luncheon. The food as always was very good. Also, the table service provided by our server was excellent. However, the low rating for service is based on the fact that we waited over an hour to get seated and this was with a reservation. We were not given the courtesy I was being told that there was a problem when we checked in. After waiting an unreasonable amount of time I finally inquired from the hostess as to the problem. The reason provided for the long delay was that their ordering system to the kitchen was malfunctioning. It seems that for a high-end establishment such as this, they would have a backup system in place to ensure they can provide their customers with their ordinarily very good service. Is also terribly unprofessional to not advise us when we checked in of the delay.
Best filet ever!!! and the green beans...so good. I would have given overall a 5 but they inadvertently made my check for almost twice as much by charging me incorrectly. They were nice about correcting it though and if I hadn't had to leave the next day would have gone back for another filet. Absolutely wonderful.
