Joule, the first restaurant from celebrated husband and wife cooking team Rachel Yang and Seif Chirchi, is re-located in October, 2012 to the innovative, newly developed the Fremont Collective in Seattle’s Wallingford/Fremont neighborhood. From its original opening in 2007, Joule has cultivated a loyal dining fan base and captured the attention of an admiring local and national media captivated by the couple’s unique, modern perspective on Korean cuisine. Joule, the mature sibling to Yang and Chirchi’s restaurant, Revel, highlights Korea’s love of beef featuring unconventional cuts accompanied by distinctive and shareable side dishes.

Joule takes reservations for 1.75-3 hour time slots (depending on party size). We do our best to accommodate as many guests as possible and ask that you are considerate of other diners at the end of your meal. If you feel that your party requires more time, please let us know in the notes and we will get back to you with our available accommodations.

One of the best places I have eaten in Seattle (or anywhere!). Everything we ordered was inventive and delicious, and the service was wonderful. The building it is in is so cool, too. It was a little cold, but that’s the only thing close to a downside. Highly recommend! P

Apart from having what must be one of the world’s best interpretations of a mackerel dish, if not the best, Joule really goes far and beyond in taking care of their customers. Be assured that when things go less than ideal, they will try to do everything they can to ensure a great dining experience. Greeting you is a lively boutique ambience of chic and sophisticated fun. All of their dishes focus on the freshest ingredients and a complexity of flavors that are guaranteed to make your palate dance. If there’s a must try in Seattle or something that’s worth coming back regularly, Joule would be one of them.

Joule is simply wonderful. The spicy rice cakes are to die for, and I would drink the bone marrow through a draw if allowed. I’ve never had a bad dish at Joule, and the service is lovely—attentive without being overbearing.

Very creative menu. With exception of the kimchi, we enjoyed everything. It wasn’t that the kimchi was bad, it just seemed “Normal” where everything else was unique. Service was great. attentive without overbearing. Indulged our questions. Would recommend, and would come back.

Two of us had great dinners--really. interesting dishes, well-flavored, not at all ordinary. I particularly liked the scallion pancake. Great, warm and friendly service. If I lived in Seattle, I'd surely be going back.

My friends & I thoroughly enjoyed our evening at Joule. The manager was most helpful w/ menu choices and was friendly but not intrusive. The two birthday gals were recognized w/ a dessert treat! Your menu items are creative, tasty and exciting to try out. All around great time!

All the plates are meant to be shared so we chose a variety of food for 4 people, we were pleased with all of them, our favs were the spicy rice cakes and the short ribs steak. The cocktails were also pretty good! We will go back!

This was one of the absolute best culinary experiences we have had in a very long time. Half way through our third course my wife paused and said "this is the best meal we've had in so ling I can't remember". We are total foodies - eating out often at all types of restaurants. We tend to go the route of sharable plates and mix it up. Joule is the perfect spot for this...all the plates are designed to share. Only thing that can be improved (from our experience) is table service. Don't get me wrong...our server was one of the best! and I tipped extremely well - close to 100% (yes it was that good). To improve the experience, clearing the plates as the courses change...likewise, the flatware/utensils should be changed out more often. I say this because the flavors with each dish are antique to that dish, used utensils and plates tend to mix the flavors too much and the table gets messy. Outside of that - our server was amazing...our host was amazing...food runners were amazing. Thank you Joule for helping us celebrate our night out with an unforgettable experience. WE WILL BE BACK.

This is my first time returning after they first opened. I really wanted to like this place but after the second try, it’s a no for me. Ordered the beef tar-tare (3/5), Dan Dan noodles (3/5), Chinese broccoli (4/5), and the cod for an entree (0/5). The cod was undercooked. I knew immediately as it was placed on the table because of the pungent fishy odor. I bit into it and it was incredibly soft in the middle which caused me to spit it out immediately. I sent it back to the kitchen and my date was so embarrassed that I had to do this that he got up and went into the restroom when I asked for it to be sent back. I felt like such a jerk for doing this. The server was very kind and offered a dessert in the house. We went with the chocolate cheesecake (4/5). Sadly I would not return. I really wanted to like this place but this last experience really did it for me.

We really enjoyed our meal overall, and the ambience is perfect for a nice, but not stuffy, night out. Oddly, the steak entree we ordered was the least impressive part of the meal, but it was a new item, and l wouldn't call it bad- but it was overcooked and not on the level with the rest of the meal flavor wise. The other four dishes were crave-ably good.
