King + Duke
Our managing partner, Ford Fry, named the restaurant after two characters in Huckleberry Finn, “The King” and “The Duke," a pair of grifters who ‘put on airs’ and pretended to be royalty, when in fact they were a couple of hillbillies who lived in the woods. With our slightly mischievous ways ☺, a huge focus on quality, yet a primitive cooking style and down-to earth atmosphere, Chef Fry felt like it was the perfect name for our newest restaurant.
I took my husband here for Father’s Day. We had a very good time. The host was great, the atmosphere was great and the food was awesome. We will definitely return.
This restaurant was beyond what I had expected. Everything was beautiful! The greeters, wait staff, waiter and everyone was superb. I truly appreciate this restaurant.
Our first time here for dinner. (We usually come for brunch)
Our server was excellent - he even made me PERFECT sweet tea as they only have “unsweetened” 😩
The food was impeccable.
Love this place
Drey was our waitress. She was fabulous. The food, especially the peaches, the tomatoes and the halibut were amazing. Loved the energy. We will be back
What an amazing experience. We came to celebrate my son and daughter’s birthday. We were pleasantly surprised when our server Rinaldo and manager (?) treated us like royalty! They went above and beyond for us and we cannot wait to return!
The server was pleasant
Well done. Great business lunch.
Excellent experience... had a small snafu but general manager (a true professional) did an outstanding recovery and more than compensated for the hiccup. Overall, great food, service, and ambiance.
Tried lots of things on the menu. Donuts and cinnamon rolls were great. Followed it with these entrres: steak and eggs with potatoes, Eggs Benedict, short rib hash and chicken biscuit. I would highly recommend all of them! Ambiance is nice and our waitress was very friendly. I'll be back!
High quality food and a great environment! The steaks were cooked to perfection and the starters were all delicious! Make sure to try the toffee dessert, it is something my taste buds will remember for a long time!
Use to like it here but simply poor food quality. Tomahawk steak served completely underdone ...twice. Squash blossoms weren’t really squash blossoms but rather a few shavings of squash blossoms but on top of bread.
The food was really good, and the service was excellent...
Our server was fantastic- and the food was delicious! Loved every minute!
We LOVE this establishment! This was the first time we had brunch at King +Duke and from cocktails to entree, it didn’t disappoint. I had Eggs Benedict and my husband had Quiche. By far, THIS was THE BEST Eggs Benedict that I’ve eaten. The biscuit and the prosciutto made it supreme. The quiche looked like a giant slice of cake and my husband said it was delicious. Callie our server was BEYOND sweet and knowledgeable. She has such a smooth and subtle sense of humor.
The day and dining were splendid!
Brunch - great food (we ate too much). Will go back
The food and outdoor patio were incredible. Our server, Toki, was very knowledgeable and offered great recommendations.
Both my husband and I have loved this restaurant since it opened its doors. Each time we visit we fall in love all over again with the food and vibe of the restaurant. I don’t think I have ever gotten the same meal 2x and have loved everything I have ever ordered, including the cocktails.
We came here to celebrate our engagement with a private dinner just for us two. Food was delicious as always with unique flavors and combinations. But a little pricey too.
The snap peas appetizer was amazing! We will return just for that dish alone. However, everything else was also delicious. We had the Alaskan haddock. We will be back!
Get back to the way you once were!!!
The waiter was just not attempted. We had to ask when we needed him versus himself by the table and checking on us.
Incredibly slow service
The food was excellent. The service was great. Our waitress was friendly and experienced. She knew a lot about the restaurant and told us all about it. The look of the place was fun and upbeat. Will definitely be back.
King + Duke was so lovely and honestly perfect for date night. Our server, Sophie, was so kind and knowledgable on the menu and gave us amazing recommendations. Definitely want to go back and try their brunch menu!
Food was good (though one of the dishes was not very hot when served). Service was very slow. Took longer to get our drinks then to get our appetizers.
My server probably was over booked with tables but we definitely felt overlooked
They waited 2 hours to tell us that they ran out of our food. It was Mother’s Day and we had a two year old. It was completely unacceptable and unprofessional
Mother's Day dinner
We wish our experience had been better. We were there in the early afternoon on Mother's Day so we expected it to be busy, but it was actually only about two-thirds full. We ordered drinks and appetizers and got them right away (a giant cinnamon roll, which was good but would have been great hot) and warm donuts. The problem was with the entrees. We ordered basics off a simplified brunch menu....cheese omelette, French toast, french fries, bacon. The server put our order in at 2:19, but at 3:04 we still didn't have our meal. By that time, we needed to leave for the airport and had to ask for our items to be boxed. Again, we expected Mother's Day to be busy. But 45 minutes is a long time to wait for a meal. What we ate from the box in the car was pretty good, although only mildly warm, so we'd like to try again when they're on a regular menu and maybe running a more efficient kitchen. The servers were apologetic, kind and informative.....we were all on the same team wanting a great experience.
Food was amazing. The service was great. Drinks was great too.
Great spot for Mother’s day brunch. Only problem was my sister hated the strawberry yogurt item. Once she requested honey she could eat more of it but she still only ate half. I suggest serving it with a small amount of honey for those who expect the yogurt to be sweet.
He was a dick
We went for Mother’s Day Brunch and it was the perfect ambiance. The noise level was great for my grandmother and we had a wonderful server!
We went on a busy Sunday morning for brunch. The service suffered because of it. I would not recommend. We were also seated a good 30 minutes after reservation time. Very frustrating.
Went for brunch. Everything was great except for the steak and eggs, specifically the steak. The flavor profile they were going for was either a failure in design or execution. Also, some of the what seemed to be intentionally ‘charred’ sections of the meat were more burnt that I would have liked. I came in really excited about this meal and my first K&D brunch but left feeling ‘meh’. I’ll come back given other experiences I’ve had here but will steer well clear of this dish.
Excellent food and drink. Our sever was knowledgeable and engaging.
Had a great time as always! Took my Mom in for an early Mother’s Day celebration and could not have been more pleased. Our server Catena was awesome, exceptionally known and kind. Ryan, the manager, stopped by our table and made sure that our experience was everything we wanted it to be and more. Definitely would recommend this place to everyone!!!!
Overall, this just wasn't what we would expect out of a fine dining restaurant. We ordered the muscles to share and had to send them back because they were simply tasteless. They were beautiful, but neither my husband nor I could eat them and when our server noticed we weren't eating them we just couldn't lie. (We've never once sent anything back so they were really that bad.) The staff was very nice and did bring us an order of shrimp instead- which were pretty good. I ordered the Scallops as my entree- they had more taste but were incredibly salty to the point that I just couldn't finish them. My husband ordered the short ribs, which were excellent. However, for a dinner that was $200 (including drinks) we just expected better.
Also, despite the fact that there were plenty of open tables, they seated everyone right next to each other (like 20 inches away) so that we were basically having dinner with the people next to us. Not a huge deal but also not what we had in mind for celebrating our anniversary.
The small plates are they way to go. I had the Pork Porterhouse for an entree and it was just mediocre and a little tough but the sauce was good. The other people at the table had the halibut and really enjoyed it. The Chocolate Ice Cream cake is worth the calories.
Entrees and most appetizers at K with apps and drinks.
