King + Duke
Our managing partner, Ford Fry, named the restaurant after two characters in Huckleberry Finn, “The King” and “The Duke," a pair of grifters who ‘put on airs’ and pretended to be royalty, when in fact they were a couple of hillbillies who lived in the woods. With our slightly mischievous ways ☺, a huge focus on quality, yet a primitive cooking style and down-to earth atmosphere, Chef Fry felt like it was the perfect name for our newest restaurant.
The staff was amazing and accommodated our large group request (which was submitted with little notice). The food, as always, was a showstopper. I couldn't be happier with how this event turned out. Thank you King+Duke!
Whenever we come to Atlanta, visiting the King and Duke is on our must do list! The service is exceptional!!
We love this restaurant but this time the food wasn’t the best. My burger was completely burnt but I didn’t want to complain since we already sent back the two leg of lamb entrees. The meat was very tough to chew which isn’t how lamb should be. They also took off a very popular starter which was unfortunate. Our service was amazing though and the manager made it right.
Food was fantastic and the King & Duke Old Fashion with Rye was truly perfect
My waitress was the bomb, she was kind and she knows her stuff
Food was amazing, service was amazing. Can't wait to visit again.
Great dinner with Britney as our waitress. Fantastic food as always.
Excellent experience all around. We were warmly greeted by the hostess team and had a great seat in the restaurant. The cocktails were creative and more importantly, delicious. The dishes were well proportioned and flavors on point. We somehow haven't been to King and Duke but the service, food and environment make this an immediate new favorite! Well done!
Superb Dining Experience from top to bottom. Drinks were awesome. The food was divine. Service was great. I can’t wait to go back!
Excellent ambiance and amazing food. Service is spectacular as well!
Good was very good, menu I see pretty limited but good was tasty and good quality. I had the lamb shank as an entree and it was amazing. Scallops were delicious, perfectly cooked with a nice buttery finish. Beef carpaccio was probably my least favorite app and the lamb chop appetizer was fall off the bone delicious.
Service started off with a bang but after the appetizers came out it was hard to get our waiters attention. It did get crowded closer to 8 o clock, but overall a great experience. Spent three hours from start to finish. Pound cake was a great way to finish the meal.
Great menu and food.
Wooden bowl salad was too salty.
Had a great dinner there. The short ribs were fantastic and JP our waiter was very good.
Brunch with family
Thanks for a great birthday celebration!!
Trevor was great at accommodating us by upgrading us to a private room when we had reserved 2 tables, one for 10 and other for 5. When it was taking too long to have tables put together for my party to be seated together, he was kind to offer us the private room for nothing!!
Melody was also very patient and provided great service. Thanks again King and Duke!!
Excellent experience from the beginning. Staff was great and our waitress was outstanding. Food was awesome.
Molly was a sublime server who kept our rowdy party on task, and our dining experience on point. Sean Sullivan delighted our party with culinary insights and added to our experience in exponential ways.
It was birthday and my husband and I dined at King and Duke.
The ambiance, food, and our server was amazing.
We are looking forward to coming back very soon.
Jonathan loves food as much we love food. He is an amazing server!
Two thumbs up for this establishment!
I had a client dinner there with 6 guests. All of whom are well travelled and somewhat Foodies. Everyone in the party was impressed with the unique menu choices and the service. We will certainly return.
I already have recommended to my friends visiting Atlanta!
We had a great time the food was good and our waiter was nice friendly and had great stories on the restaurant. But the only reason I gave it a four was our waiter got the order wrong! I order fries and my friend order salad and we both got fries! All in all it was fun and loved the open fire cooking! Just wished the waiter had ask if eveything was right not just good!🙂
Salad was served without dressing on it
fish was fair
Fabulous waiter:) great chicken wing appetizer or shareable as they call it; horrible broccoli crown-could have made that myself (melted messy Velvetta cheese, limp oily broccoli just horrible), duck came out after my hubby ‘s meal( he was almost done eating) then duck was cold.. just won’t go again:(( won’t recommend.. was expecting 5* place but maybe they are not striving for a Canoe or Chops type of service and ambiance???
The food at King and Duke was excellent! We visited for our anniversary and the staff went out of their way to congratulate us and they kept bringing complimentary small samples to our table! I loved that it is fine dining without the stuffy atmosphere and that you can dress casual but still enjoy amazing food!
Order the cocktail “A Rose for Emily” — one of the best whiskey cocktails I’ve ever had. We had so much fun on a best friend date here. Beautiful restaurant and delicious food! Loved the popover bread service. YUM.
One thing that always makes the finding experience amazing at this restaurant, is the service. The food is consistent and creative. This particular evening we had a very large party (20 people) and everyone raves about how great everything was! Thank you for a fabulous night!
The only redeeming factor of our experience here was the bartender and his delicious drinks and interesting banter at the bar prior to dinner. Our server was ok but forgetful. The food was overpriced and average. When we walked in we had high hopes. Place is dope, aesthetically it's a winner but the quality of the food is lacking.
Ask for Ronnie’s section. You won’t be disappointed.
Wonderful dinner before a fantastic show at the Buckhead Theatre nearby. We had a lovely server named JP! He was new and very helpful and efficient. Our food was delicious. Making a reservation online was easy and our table was ready when we got there.
Wonderful restaurant! Service was prompt and friendly. The food was delicious! The menu changes frequently, but on this visit we had lamb ribs, scallops, and a shiitake mushroom dish. Everything was super yummy!
Nice place indeed. Pretty quiet and refined. Now it was a Monday night so crowd was rather limited. Meat was extremely good, irrespective of the dish we each took.
Great ambiance, Great service, and amazing pasta. Would definitely recommend and will make a point to revisit the next time I am in town.
Food was really good. We were rushed and it was really disappointing. They brought food out so fast and handed us a bill before we could even get half of a bottle of wine finished. Too expensive to feel like fast food service.
Food was great but took a while
Fantastic experience. Love the food, the staff is wonderful, and great atmosphere.
First time there. We had a terrific waitress, Nicole. My husband had the burger which was huge, but should be for the price tag. He said it was the best burger he ever had.
I had a Brussels salad and swordfish skewer. Was excellent.
Will definitely be back.
The staff from host, Marquise to everyone else was great!
I think the tapas and side portions are small and the prices are high. I enjoyed this place before they changed their menu. Not sure if I would go back.
Sea base was amazing, popovers were fantastic service excellent. A little too noisy and cramped but wonderful food.
Fantastic food and very friendly staff. Very comfortable setting for our table of 6.
