La Collina specializes in fresh seafood and veal dishes. Its signature dish, Dover Sole, is a delicate, tasty fish that is uniquely grilled, and served tableside. In addition to our Dover Sole, our daily fresh-fish specials include Branzino, Norwegian Salmon, Pompano, Orata, soft-shell crabs, Langostina, and other delights from the sea, depending upon availability. Food was outstanding! Everyone had a different veal dish. Not a morsel was left on any plate. Only one issue — online menu shows a fixed-price lunch menu, but this menu does not exist for most people. It is only for large parties. Once we realized we would have to order a la carte, everything was fine.

The experience would have been nice if there wasn't a fruit fly infestation. We had to change seats but the problem still existed. The staff was very aware, but seemed not to be bothered as much as my husband and I.

La Collina is a treasure hidden in plain sight. You see this lovely restaurant perched on a cliff high above the Schuylkill Expressway as you are westbound, leaving the city. I have been wanting to try it for years and finally got there this past Saturday night. I could kick myself for taking so long to try it. Last time I was there was as a little kind when it was under prior ownership and name. We simply LOVED the awesome Italian cuisine and amazing views. Slight negatives were the need for valet parking and the noise level of this very popular spot and the prime time of our visit, but both were easily manageable. The positives were the quality and selection of the genuine Italian dishes and excellent service by our server, Ilvana, who made the evening special. Highly recommend!

We enjoyed our appetizers & drinks the most! The gilled octopus was delicious, it was flavorful and tender. The burrata salad was vey nice as well. For main we had the dover sole filler at table side, it was fresh & good & nothing to brag about. The spaghetti carbonara was over cooked & soggy. I expected the pancetta to have some crunch and the spaghetti al dente, I didn’t get that from this dish. :( Overall is enjoyable experience.

First time dining here, and our server never even told us they had specials. We had placed our order, and overheard another server giving their table the special. Also we were just served our dessert, and the server immediately dropped our check. Atleast give the guests some time to eat. I felt rushed with that.

11.1.23: A special birthday, we had a lovely dinner in the same place that we had our Christmas dinner, with the same two servers. Nelson, A very sweet guy who took our pictures, and Errol… The server from the Philippines who made some great suggestions. We ate all of his favorites! The arugula octopus carpaccio salad, the grilled octopus appetizer, we shared the light blush sauce lobster of the Oli with the black and white stripes, and the seafood dish with linguine, calamari, clams, shrimp and mussels. We ended with a little light lemon sorbet! Thank you for a fabulous green themed birthday dinner! Wonderful service! Fantastic, quiet, relaxing dinner in a private space! We loved it! Always so special!

Excellent steak with gorgonzola, pasta was excellent. Caesar salad was underdressed and underwhelming, however. The calamari were not edible, but they credited us. Also need to work on cocktails-- asked for a Manhattan but got a vodka martini. Also credited (to their credit).

We’ve been here about every 6 weeks or so. Always had a good experience. It seems all of a sudden the older, long time wait staff has been replaced or don’t work Mondays. Our very nice waitress tried to filet a Bronzino and clearly had no clue what she was doing. The fish was served with tons of bones and was not eatable. We sent it back. No management came over, no offer of a replacement meal, nothing. We weren’t charged, but went home hungry. Not a good experience.

We were showing off this beautiful restaurant to my Aunt and she was totally impressed with the entire venue & dinner. She commented on how beautiful the restaurant looked. She loved all the orchids and flowers. She, as well as us, appreciated getting our table by the window so thank you for that. Special thanks to Bayram and Jonathan because they were extremely attentive and catered to our every request throughout dinner. My aunt even commented on how nice, polite and friendly they were to all of us. They both made the evening even more enjoyable. As far as the dinner was concerned, she loved the Oysters appetizer and was raving about them all evening. She also loved the Scallop and Pasta special which she said was extremely tasty and delicious. She wanted to save some to take home, but she was enjoying it so much that she finished the entire entree :) I absolutely loved the Veal Piccata, which was so good- I actually managed to save some to take home. She thought the Bomb desert was one of the best she’s ever had. And we loved the Ricotta and Pistachio cake which was so moist & delicious. So THANKS to the chef for all of these “special” creations. It’s these special creations that makes the menu here so unique. La Collina has truly become one of our favorite restaurants and we absolutely love showing it off to all our friends and family.

First time dining here and upon arrival we were told they did not have a table for us. A bit disappointing as we had a reservation. We were offered a pub table but decided to eat at the bar. The quality of the food was very good but the portions small for the price. Thank goodness for valet parking and the person was extremely nice! Not sure we will dine here again but glad we tried it!

Very peaceful and elegant, perfect finish to a long hard day, to have such peacefulness. We enjoyed the special of the day salad, a lovely arugula, burata, and watermelon salad. The seasoned mussels are delicious! Dipped in the broth, with the crusty bread!! They have a lovely creamery spread for the complementary bread, as well. The grilled octopus appetizer is wonderful, with a little bit of arugula and seasoned tomatoes and onion rings and capers, flavorful! We enjoyed the $49 Sacchetti creamy blush, pasta pockets filled with cheese, and topped with Lobster, and scallops, another menu special of the day. We finished with a little bit of raspberry sorbet and pistachio gelato… A very nice meal for two people.

We haven’t been back since pre-Covid. And decided on this because it was my husband’s birthday. The restaurant is small, but very pretty. And we’re seated quickly and served immediately. The ambience would have been better had the music not been Spanish techno reggae and as loud as it was. We asked the waiter if he could turn the music down as we would have to raise our voices to be heard, which we thought was ridiculous in an Italian slightly upscale restaurant, he chuckled and then I reiterated no we’re serious. We need the music turned down. (If it wasn’t, we were going to leave.) So the music was turned down a notch, but it was still annoying. Our waiter was prompt and pleasant. The wine was delicious. We ordered a cheeseboard. It was served in a timely manner. It was very large chunks of very hard cheese. Nothing that you could cut with a knife selections of meat were OK but there was no soft cheese, no crackers nothing spreadable no jams, no honey basically not an average cheeseboard would have. So I was very disappointed about that. My husband ordered the gnocchi and I ordered the fettuccine Alfredo with chicken. It was delicious so for dinner, dessert and gelato and tiramisu. My husband had four drinks came out to roughly $190. Factor in the gratuity for the waiter and the valet ( you don’t have a choice you have to use the valet parking) sidenote, it is a very tight squeeze in the parking lot so I see why they have valet, the night came in just under $250. Would I go back again to spend another 250 for dinner? No absolutely not, so good luck to La Collina it has it’s good points but the bad points outweigh the good.

Overall an AMAZING dinner! I was disappointed that the grilled octopus was very over cooked but everything else was perfect! Our reservation was for 4pm. The tables are a bit close together so it started to get loud as we were leaving. Tip: order lots of apps and the specials!

Chicken entree was served on a plate with just the chicken, no garnish whatsoever, not even a piece of lettuce or slice of tomatoe. not very pleasing or appetizing, although the chicken was good. I guess they need you to buy a vegetable.

Was very expensive for what it was. Menu did not match what was online which was disappointing because we came for a particular item no longer offered. Desserts tasted like they were not fresh/made there. Bill was 50% more than the quality warranted.

Having returned to La Collina, after years of not going, we were very happy with the quality of the food. Everything came out perfect and both of our meals were delicious. However, the first time back the waiter simply forgot about us. I had to go up to the bar and get myself another glass of wine. (He was even unaware that I did this!) We had to constantly look for him to get any type of service. Took us over 20 minutes to pay our check. Second time around it wasn't much better. In fact, it was worse. Waiter was not going to tell us the specials until I asked. While telling us the specials he acted aloof and barely got them out to us. Took a long time to get our food. Service was terrible. We had to ask for everything. Meals second time was just as good as the first time. BUT rather than going back week after week I'm not sure we would go back due to the terrible service. During the week we want to get in and out and it took us forever to get our food and get out of there. If service improves we would make this a weekly place. Main dining room needs some type of light music in the background. Otherwise you hear everyone's conversations. I would recommend La Collina to a friend but I would warn them about the lousy service,

The moment we arrived at the restaurant, Roberta greeted us in such a warm & friendly way, that it set the tone for the entire evening. We were entertaining our neighbors as dinner guests- it was the very first time they had been to this awesome restaurant. They just could not get over how beautiful the view was, how beautiful the restaurant was, the vast array of menu choices and the A+ quality of the food. The BEST part of the evening was that we got our favorite server Errol. As usual, he was so friendly, very attentive & he had a great sense of humor which kept all of us entertained all evening. What our guests really noted was that the word no didn’t seem to exist in Errol’s vocabulary, because whatever we wanted, and no matter how we wanted anything prepared all evening, we got. Kudos to the chef because our appetizers, veal and seafood entrées were not only plated beautifully, but prepared to perfection & super delicious. The chocolate soufflé that we all ordered for dessert was a perfect ending to a “phenomenal” meal. Thanks to Roberta, Errol and the chef for making this another evening to remember !!!
