- SStevenWashington, D.C. Area •18 reviews5.0Dined 1 day agoThis was my first visit to this restaurant. I believe it was fashioned after a small chain of Parisian bistrots called Le Relais de entrecote. The format is exactly the same. Having eaten in the Parisian version several dozen times I was curious how this would compare. They did well. I thought Medium Rare’s beef was exceptionally good and it came out exactly as I ordered it. We split a piece of Carrot cake for dessert, it’s too much for one person. It was seriously good. There was an appropriate selection of wines by the glass and considering this was the People’s Republic of Montgomery County the wine price was reasonable. The service was friendly, competent and attentive. The overall pricing was not inexpensive but considering all you get I found it to be a bargain. We will be back!More infoMedium Rare - BethesdaPrice: Moderate• Steakhouse• Bethesda•4.6
- DDAVIDVIPWashington, D.C. Area •15 reviews5.0Dined 1 day agoIt's been a few years, and we had forgotten how great this restaurant is. The kitchen is impeccable: every dish is perfectly done. I had the crab cakes: The cakes were moist and tender with no filling; just totally crabby, as they should be. The mashed potatoes were creamy and fluffy; too often, they're over-pureed in restaurants and end up gloppy, but these were perfect. Other complements, spinach and a corn succotash, equally great. My wife's soup starter was a little not hot enough, but otherwise excellent in taste and texture. Her tuna tartare was a beautiful arrangement, well balanced and delicious. Apple pie-ish for dessert also excellent. This is a fine-dining level of restaurant, without any pretensions at all. Surprisingly busy on a very cold night. Service was great; fast, attentive and personable. A bit loud when we went at 7:15, but all tables were full and people do talk over dinner. Chairs are a bit hard on the old butt -- no cushions. But nobody's perfect.More infoPersimmonPrice: Moderate• American• Bethesda•4.8
