We stopped in for an anniversary dinner on our way back home and had a great meal at Corinne. The Calamari was light, the included tempura veg was a nice touch, especially the pickled carrot. Sauces were good but not exceptional. The Burrata is a generous size with three toasted baguette pieces that were still soft and pliable, but had some nice char on the edges. The apricot mostarda was a partner in flavor and did not upstage the delicate Burrata and chopped Marconas added a welcome textural addition. Not to be upstaged, the Heirloom tomatoes were nicely dressed, and the croutons flavorful and not overly hard. The tomato and cucumber wedges are large and required additional disassembly. Feta crumbles and a small number of watercress leaves rounded out the presentation. The by-the-glass Malbec is a good food wine, it did well with all of the above. I would've liked to see a by-the-glass Rioja or Cote du Rhone, as those are my jams these days, but I'll certainly take a good Malbec. The Pikes Peak sour was good, but I think would've been better served with a whiskey base. I ordered the belly-on pork chop, which turns out, was the correct choice. It is an absolutely massive one-bone chop with the pork belly attached, but in addition, there is also a section of what I believe is rib and ribeye on the other side of the rib bone from the chop. The pork belly was slit every half-inch and nicely charred, and the main section of the chop was cooked a good medium. I was not asked for a doneness preference, but I understand why after seeing the complexity of this piece of meat. It was presented under a pile of heavily fried shaved brussels atop a pile of very flavorful roasted baby carrots. My only gripe is that I would've appreciated a mashed potato to pair with the abundant pork belly fat. My wife got the scallops, preparation was good, but the scallop quality is above average. There are 4 scallops, which would be my only gripe on this dish. All in all, excellent!

This was a special tea for my three grandchildren, son and daughter-in-law who live in Hawaii and hardly ever get to visit. The children were so excited, anticipating picking out their own tea and before the waitress even came to the table, we had all decided which ones we wanted. I have been going to the BROWN PALACE for high tea and bringing my children and other friends and family since 1982. That was when my oldest child was just barely elder enough to go. Paying $65 a person was not at all a problem for me. But it was a problem that because there were five of us, we were required to make 3 tea selections for all of us to share, which came in 3 pitchers for and each child was not able to choose their own. So what we adults did was, we let the children pick the teas and we just drank what they wanted to drink. I did ask if Coffee could be provided as that is what my daughter-in-law law and I wanted and she made an exception and did that but my son was really looking forward to trying BROWN PALACE black tea, I forgot what it was called on the menu. Paying this amount of money, it seems to me for tea, that each person should have been able to have what they wanted at their side. This has never happened before and I have brought larger parties. I’m thinking this is a fairly new thing and it was frustrating that it was done this way. we decided not to push this issue for the sake of politeness and cordiality and keeping it a happy time. But I don’t think this is a good rule.

We had a family reunion group reservation of 17 at 6:00pm on a Friday. The place was very busy, yet we got great service. Everyone thought the food was excellent Italian. I have experienced the Maggiano's in Chicago, IL and Woodland Hills, CA, and this one is just as great.
