Open Mon/Thurs/Fri/Sat/Sun, closed Tues/Wed. Muoi Tieu is a cozy family-run Vietnamese restaurant and market in the heart of Takoma Park, Maryland, with a small but carefully curated menu that offers a combination of popular Vietnamese dishes (e.g., pho, spring rolls) and less common home-style dishes (e.g., braised pork belly, pan-fried fish with ginger nuoc cham) with plenty of gluten-free and vegan options. Our small market also offers a variety of common Vietnamese condiments, pantry items, and Asian snacks. Like our name, which means "salt and pepper" in Vietnamese, our concept is simple: we want to bring classic, savory Vietnamese food to our community.

Food was superb. The hummus was incredible, tzatziki was super fresh and our salads and mains were all delicious. The only (slight) knock was that it took a while to get seated, despite having a reservation. And the service was slow to start. Because we had a tour booked, it made for a slight bit of stress. On the bright side, we’d come back for the food. And our server was friendly and things did move along more quickly after the crowd moved to the capitals game just before 7pm. Overall a great location and fun spot.

We had a great meal. We shared the veggie salad, the labneh (with amazing freshly baked and well-seasoned pita!), the cauliflower, and the lacquered chicken. The labneh was my favorite, but I would order each of the dishes again. The drinks were good too, the service was friendly and unobtrusive, and the atmosphere was lively. What’s not to like?

Fun spot! We had a great time at dinner with my family. Wayne was our server and he was fabulous! Went above and beyond. Everyone was pleased with their food and drinks. Would definitely recommend. This place is noisy, but also provides a great time.

My wife and I celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary here and overall I could not have been more pleased. I made a reservation for two and made a note stating we were celebrating our anniversary. Immediately upon checking, the staff congratulated us as well as the service staff. The restaurant complimented our deserts which was a nice touch. We visited at 4:00pm so it mid day/early afternoon crowds were there. I did not expect a overly romantic atmosphere at that time. I would absolutely recommend visiting. I know we will.

I have multiple food allergies and when I informed the waiter,Russ, he went to the kitchen to check which items I could safely order and eat. I was impressed. It made ordering easier. The fish tacos were delicious. My husband said the crab cake was fabulous. Our friend said the steak was perfect. We topped our meal with out of this world Key Lime Pie We are looking forward to a return dining experience
