Restaurants near Newcastle Arts Centre

We have been to the French Quarter on a number of occasions and it is consistently good. The food is in a traditional French style but not at all stuffy. The wine list is impressive and the staff are excellent

We received a voucher for Blackfriars for Christmas. Booking was easy online. We arrived slightly early but our table was ready. The restaurant was not busy when we arrived and enjoyed the background music. Service was very good and we asked if we could mix and match between the menu’s and they said it was fine to do that. We ordered the fish platter to share which was really nice. I ordered the fillet steak, it was perfectly cooked to the way I like it and the chips were amazing, I ordered the beef dripping jus which was delicious. My husband ordered the corn fed chicken, again this was delicious. We had no room for desert so can’t comment on that. My husband also had the larger brewed onsite which he said was very nice. Only fault I would say is they put a service charge of 10% on your bill but it is explained it is not mandatory. Definitely will be back.

Excellent night with friends at Hibou Blanc. Lovely busy atmosphere with friendly attentive staff - the restaurant manager was brilliant and she found us a table in the bar when we moved from the restaurant. The food was delicious - we ordered prawn cocktail, cheese soufflé, soup starters and sea bass & veggie option mains Great wine list and a throughly enjoyable evening

Grad dinner with my 2 teenage children would have been nice if the peppered sauce was not a butter cube put correct sauce steak was tough certainly a thin cheap sirloin but hey boy staff were reasonable polite certainly didn’t want to be more friendly but hey ho other than that reasonably enjoyable

Fab menu £15 for 2 course or £20 for 3 courses Service was perfect attentive but not intrusive Food v tasty Lovely choice of gin. Was quiet but the restaurant is beautiful place to sit Will go again
