Restaurants near Paw Paw Tunnel

Went here for my anniversary with my wife just yesterday. We’d eaten here once before on Valentine’s Day earlier this year. From what I remember they had good food when we were last there in Feb. but they had a special Valentine’s Day menu that’s different from their normal one. I put in a reservation for us and we had a great time. The food was delicious, seasoned perfectly and didn’t taste undercooked. They have a small menu and it’s a little expensive, but it’s well worth it. The ambience was very quiet and relaxing, but when we went around 5pm on Wednesday there were only two other couples there. The music playing over the speakers wasn’t obnoxiously loud either, just right. Service was impeccable and our waiter was phenomenal with presentation, explanation of dishes, and professionalism. The choice of desserts and flavors was great too. Overall I highly recommend going here at least once to treat your palate to a delectable dish for yourself or your SO.

We had the roasted red pepper soup as a special and it was beyond divine! Then we ate the best thing ever: fried green tomatoes with pork belly and blacked shrimp on top. Next we had the chocolate terrine. I cannot say enough about the food quality and service. It was all perfect. And this is why my group drives 1 hr and 15 minutes each way to get there!

My husband and I celebrated our anniversary at 1796 - the food and atmosphere were excellent as was the service from our waiter James. Would definitely recommend as a place to go for any celebration or just a nice night out. The decorations at the hotel and on the grounds were also amazing this time of year (December).

When asking if coffee was fresh the server stated that it was same from lunch (3hrs prior,) She did not offer to make a new pot and had to settle for ice tea. Never asked to refill drinks. Good grief, how difficult would be to get a fresh cup of coffee. Ended up getting coffee later on casino floor.

We love our evenings at Regions, the food and staff are always so great.
