ST. JOHN Bread & Wine reflects the rhythms of its locale whilst observing the same respect for seasonal, indigenous ingredients and "the whole beast" as the bigger sister restaurant. Currently opening for dinner, Tuesday to Saturday, this branch very much beats its own drum with a menu structured towards a slightly less formal manner of dining, with guests actively encouraged to share dishes as they're ready from the kitchen. As well as selling goods to take home from our bakery, wines by the bottle or the case can be bought from our lists to take home with some delivery available. Bread & Wine has been voted Best British Restaurant by the Evening Standard and named as best value restaurant by The Observer Food Monthly.

I must admit to being uncertain about the idea of Mexican/Japanese fusion but my Japanese friend said he was willing to give it a go. I’m so glad I did. The food is exquisite. Snow crab guacamole was amazing. Super fresh and tasty. The octopus tacos had an amazing flavour and texture and the duck on spicy rice was a perfect combination of Japanese and Mexican. The location is gorgeous overlooking the City and the service was exemplary. Very attentive but friendly and discrete. I will definitely be going back.

My husband and I had an excellent meal at this place. We ordered a fillet each and they were cooked to perfection. The sides were equally nice, we had the creamed spinach, buttered greens, the Brussels sprouts with chestnuts and bacon and some fries. We also had the mini mince pies and a clotted cream ice cream which were both excellent. It’s not cheap but we ate well.

The foods were good but not to the expectation vs its hype! The portion size of the mains were smaller than I would expected for the price paid. Overall still nice restaurant and the staffs are friendly. Very good extensive wine list.
