Lovely restaurant. Delicious food. Excellent service. Can’t wait to return.
The entire experience from beginning to end was simply delightful. Service was friendly, warm, efficient. Food tickled my palate with exquisiteness. Chef Scott Bacon nailed every bite. The halibut and lamb and mixed vegetables- perfection. All the accents just added to the unique flavors!!! Lovely!! Music so refreshing while dining and created memories and conversation. Awesome experience. Thank you The Ivy. Next experience a room and spa!!! Can't wait!!!
The food was cooked to perfection.and the service was stellar! I'm looking forward to my next visit.
Everything was wonderful! From fried oyster appetizer, halibut and lamb dinner through dessert…Smith Island Cake and chocolate cake…all outstanding!
Dotty was a terrific server. She guided us through the menu and took great care of us.
I can't really get what this place is trying to be. The decor, food, and music, all feel like a mishmash of ideas with no real focus or theme. The staff were great the cocktails were great, but the food was average and unmemorable for the price point.
Left nothing wanting for a magical anniversary dinner. Staff is incredibly knowledgeable & happy to share with you the art of their skill. All around fantastic!
Food and ambience was great. Our server Andrew was attentive and polite. The music during dinner was all classic tunes. Great place.
A wonderful place for a latish (8:30) Friday date night. Terrific food, warm service, attractive ambiemce.
Except for slow service, it was great.
Awesome croquettes, Halibut, and Sangria! Smith Island cake was divine as well
The best meal I've had in the city for the past two years. Everything was terrific- cocktails, food, service, ambience. I wholeheartedly recommend!
Lovely romantic restaurant with beautiful decor and phenomenal food. 5 stars all around! Looking forward to dining there again.
My friends from out-of-state and I were thoroughly impressed with the whole dining experience at Magdalena's. We were still talking about it long after the meal was over. This will be a memory we will cherish in the years to come. Thank you for your excellencent service.
First time I have returned since the pandemic. The overall quality remains the same.
Our meal at Magdalena was extraordinary. My partner and I are both restaurant industry professionals and we were blown away by the quality of the food and service. The atmosphere was warm and elegant, our server was knowledgeable and followed steps of service impeccably, the menu offerings were complex but approachable. Magdalena is Baltimore fine dining at its best. No overblown glitz or glam necessary - the experience speaks for itself.
This was our third visit to Magdalena in the past three years- we really should be going much more frequently. The food is always amazing- fresh, creative, portioned properly, balanced and delicate flavors and sauces intertwined with the food but not overpowering. The wine list is one of the best- I have to think of a special occasion to sample their large award-winning 100 point offerings. The service is impeccable- anticipating your every need and question. Truly a gem for Baltimore!
Once more Magdalena offers beautiful food with impeccable service.
This was the best meal that I have enjoyed in a long time. Everything was very original and absolutely delicious. Our waiter was great; very courteous and efficient. It was a wonderful experience all around!
Hands down best in Baltimore. Food, Ambience & Service. Highest recommendation!
This is a place where you can dress up or opt for more casual. The food was exceptional but the gem of the evening was our server Dominick. Personable, well versed with the wine list as well as the history of the property. Ambiance was intimate, sophisticated and elegant. Their crafted cocktails were refreshingly original. We’ll be back for certain.
Fantastic food and excellent service at Magdalena.
The staff was so welcoming and accommodating. All of the items on the menu were top-notch, perfect summertime food. I think it might be a new menu for them. Either way, I highly recommended it.
Consistently delicious and varied menu; top notch service; interesting and comfortable venue with personal touch.
My husband and I came here to celebrate our anniversary. We really enjoyed our scallops and strip steak with a side of parmesan and truffle frites. Both dishes were phenomenal! We were surprised by the anniversary cake that was brought out. The service was also impeccable. We’ll be back soon!
Overall lovely experience. We had a wonderful time with our family. My husband and father-in-law really enjoyed their scotch tasting. Thank you!
Everything was amazing! My only comment would be there was a smell from the trash in the alley. But it was only when we first got out there. The food, ambiance and service were all 10/10.
Great food that is creative and unique. Great service as well.
It was the perfect place to celebrate a special occasion.
Magdalena is a lovely, elegant, and delicious spot for a quiet, romantic dinner or festive celebration. It's a lovely setting ( we sat outside), the food is upscale and delicious, and the wait staff is friendly but professional. It is expensive, but we thought worth it.
Highly recommend it for a special occasion.
While dining at Magdalena, our server, completely forgot about us. We waited for more than 25 minutes after we received our drinks before he approached us to take our dinner orders. There were couples that arrived after us that were served beforehand and received their meals while we were still having our drinks. Thankfully, the food at Magdelena was incredible and we were very pleased with every item we ordered for our meal.
My girlfriend and I dined here for a belated birthday celebration and had a wonderful meal! The waiter was just the right balance of being helpful and knowledgeable with no stuffiness which, if you ask me, is a very dated and silly restaurant trend. The breads there are my favorite and the creative butter pairings. The food was delicious we had scallops and halibut respectively…both got clean plate club honors.
This is a great restaurant because it’s fancy without feeling fancy or stuffy. Every single person from the doormen to the other staff are so friendly and it made for a great overall experience.
Absolutely worth it! We had visited Charleston the night before and Magdalena was similarly impressive, beautiful, and delicious. A must for a Baltimore visit.
The food is so very tasty, and presented in a beautiful style. Every dining room has a personality of its own, and the courtyard is so lovely for out door dining. The lighted bar is so welcoming and the wine room is particularly handsome. Dining at Magdalena is a treat for all the senses.
We had a really nice dinner here for my boyfriend’s birthday! Very attentive service, great food, and knowledgeable staff. He particularly enjoyed their extensive whiskey list and selection of whiskey flights!
This was our first visit to Magdalena and we look forward to returning. The food and service were excellent and the ambiance (low noise level and 60's music was relaxing).
This is a high end restaurant for Baltimore, where good ambiance, service and food should be expected with commensurate high prices. With a 5:30 PM seating we had no competition for the staff''s attention, and as such were very well served. We began with ceviche, which, to my taste lacked good, full fish flavors. Our fish entrees were well prepared, mine with a tasty, properly tart lemon butter sauce for my halibut, which, however, did not have have as much taste of the fish as I would have wished. My two companions said their salmon dishes were excellent. I agreed with one companion that the rhubarb & apple crisp had little rhubarb in the taste and with my other companion that there should have been more of the ice cream accompanying that dish. By and large our dinner, a return after two or three experiences in this restaurant before the covid epidemic, was a enjoyable experience for the three of us and gives us reason to return in the future and continue to recommend the restaurant to others.
First time at this fine dining restaurant. Great food, service and atmosphere. Great palce for a special occassion. Steak was great as was the bronzini. I recoomend the burrata appetizer, neat touch with cherry tomatos and strawberries.
Such a intimate space that we would love to add as one of our frequent places.
Magdalena's has never disappointed. It is the best restaurant in Baltimore. The creativity of the dishes, the merging of flavors, the quality of the ingredients and the quality of the service is unmatched. Every dish we had was beyond superb. We are already looking forward to our next visit.
Magdalena's is truly a fine place to dine!!!! My husband and I celebrated our 19th wedding anniversary there. The food was delicious and the ambiance was awesome!!!! We will be returning soon and highly recommend Magdalena's for fine dining in a relaxed upscale setting.
