My filet was horrible, it was over cooked and tough
Great vibe, service & food!
My wife and I enjoyed our anniversary at Marsha Brown's. Jack our server was a complete professional. Attentive without being overbearing, Great conversation and recommendations. The bacon slab app is a must. My wife raved over chelmette scallops (I didn't get a taste). I had an Oscar style Filet. Filet was done just how I like it; a little more than rare. Jack suggested rare on a 500 degree plate (perfect). It did not come with the bearnaise; it was there quickly after I pointed it out. However, the crabmeat was described as colossal lump. Since I eat dozens of crabs each summer I knew it was not. It was special ( a much lower quality). While disappointing, It did not spoil our time. I still highly recommend.
Hostesses lovely, food excellent , service very good but would have like acknowledgement of gratuity or appreciation of visit-( thank you for coming).
Absolutely perfect. Food was excellent. All of the staff were very accommodating and professional which speaks to excellent management and training. All in all, a perfect dining experience. Can’t wait to do it again.
Very good ... a couple of mistakes with ordering, and fineness I’d steak, but otherwise very good!
We are so glad we dined at Marsha Brown's ! You do need to know some things before you visit this restaurant: it is very loud and it is pricey as everything is a' la carte, if you order a steak - that is all you are getting! We started with appetizers, my husband had the gumbo and I had the crab cheesecake, which is delicious, but incredibly rich and maybe needed some crackers, (definitely an appetizer that needs to be shared). My husband ordered the Etouffee and thought is was wonderful but mentioned it was different than others he had had. more brothy. I had the scallops and they were outstanding and served over a bed of veggies. Finally, dessert - the bread pudding was amazing! Our waiter was Adrian, he absolutely made the evening complete! He answered questions before we asked them and he made the perfect suggestions. If it is your first time I would ask for him! Not sure if I would return for dinner, (due to cost and the fact that there are so many options in New Hope), but would love to return for lunch.
everything was just about perfect. The wait staff are excellent
Fabulous food and wonderful service. Our waiter Mick was funny and very attentive. He explained the menu well, and made wonderful suggestions.
We requested the bar area because we wanted oysters and appetizers. It was great.
I rarely do 5 star reviews...I tend to be more cynical. We visited MB's last year around the holidays on a Saturday. I just remember the visit being good. Nothing wrong, but nothing spectacular. We went again last night (Friday). Spectacular is all I can say. Service (thanks Mick!!) outstanding. Food from warm bread to appetizer (a MUST get is the Crab Cheesecake!), to main dishes (Crawfish Etouffe and special Sea Bass) amazing. A-MAH-ZING. Go. Go. Go.
Food was awesome, however the service was horrible. We had to ask three times for the wine we orderd. Never came back to check onus to see if we need anything,
Always, always amazing
We have been going to Marsha Brown's for several years and this time the food quality has decreased in taste and appearance. I had the Catfish which was served with a seafood "infused" rice. The menu did not include the rice in the description and i can see why. Who would mix a really fishy seafood taste in the first place, but let alone with a fresh water catfish!! Also the appearance of the seafood infused rice screamed don't eat me! The rice was awful and the catfish was extremely salty and the sauce that came with it was watery and tasteless. Also, the coconut shrimp appetizer was deep fried beyond it's time so much that the shrimp were dry and tasteless. The ravioli were nothing to write home about either. Finally, my wife's scallop dish was ok. Actually, the vegetable medley under the scallops were the best tasting all night. One more thing, the twice baked potatoes were hard on top like they were baked 6 times before we got them. Sorry, it was a really bad choice to celebrate with our son!! WE actually travelled about 90 minutes from our home to the restaurant.
My husband and I have been coming to Marsha Browns since we first started dating over 5 years ago. We usually are only able to get there twice a year, once during restaurant week in the spring which happens to fall on the week of both our birthdays and in November for our dating anniversary. We were gifted a gift card for Christmas this year and went for dinner this past weekend. We had a lovely time as always! The food was exceptional and the service impeccable! We have had the same waiter a few times over the past 5 years (I wish I could remember his name!) and he was nice enough to come by and say hi to us even though he wasn't waiting on us that night! He was so excited to hear that we were now married and had a new anniversary to celebrate at Marsha Browns! I can't recommend this restaurant enough!!!
PS the Lobster and Shrimp bisque is literally the best food I have ever eaten :)
I sent my parents here for dinner as a gift before a show at the Bucks County Playhouse and they loved it! Would definitely recommend.
Very nice environment, food and service was great!
Fantastic restaurant when you want a special night out! The food was authentically Creole, the atmosphere is gorgeous, and the service is outstanding. I brought my parents here as a Christmas gift and they were blown away... highly recommend!
Went on New Years night. Not a busy night and sat near the bar. Bartender was also the attentive waiter. Apps of coconut shrimp and oysters were very good. The filet mignon was not very tender and the crab cake was just ok. For the price I expected a better food experience.
New Years Eve with the love of my life. Simply an amazing experience.
My food was cold, and I do not food back. Never I go during holidays season. Service is always rushed
Had dinner here on NewYears Eve. Service and food were great. Will go back
I always get the sense Marsha Brown is very good but could be better.....this visit though was the best executed food to come out of the kitchen in many years. A little pricey but you pay for the ambience and the fact you can't get decent New Orleans style food in the area.
The food was terrific. Our servers were attentive and very helpful. An awesome meal over all.
Excellent service. They were great with our two kids. The food was delicious.
We love New Hope and the quaint fun vibe. We were looking for a restaurant that spoke to our desire for good food, ambience and relaxation. We found all of this and more when we dined on New Year's Eve at Marsha Brown. From the moment our waiter Carlos came over to our table with his hospitable personality to our luscious desserts the dining experience at Marsha Brown's restaurant was the best! We can't wait to come back!!
amazing table and service!! They kept asking us if was our anniversary and taking photos of us but it was not!!
It was a date night for my husband and I and we couln't have been more pleased. Everyone was welcoming and the food was amazing.
Will go back again!
Have been trying to visit since moving from St Louis. Finally tried it and it was worth the wait. Could not find a single negative. A wonderful experience.
The food is always excellent. Randy, the downstairs bartender is friendly and makes a great cocktail. The waiter, Adrian, was just ok. Service was not bad but he does not add to the experince
We invited family members (who had never been to Marsha Brown) to join us for a Birthday celebration. They drove 3 hours (each way) from the town of Catskill, NY . As world travelers, our son & his wife were impressed with the ambience, food, service, & decor...thanks for the memories!
Good food and drink in a beautiful old church, Good location .
Sooooo overrated I don’t know where to begin. Empty plates on the table. Half inch thick filet. Waiter who brags that marsha brown owns three Ruth Chris restaurants and that this steak quality is superior. Minuscule plates that left my entree (strip steak Oscar) hanging off the sides. Unmemorable catfish, limp shrimp, average gumbo, grossly overpriced salads, wife had to ask for extra dressing on the wedge salad three times. 20 dollar valet. It didn’t end. The only good thing was the martinis which were excellent. At least the bartender had some pride. Marsha needs to shut this place down, go away and find some inspiration, and let someone else create a restaurant in her location.
Had an amazing date night with my husband tonight with Mick as our server! Food was amazing and the atmosphere was very relaxing! Can’t wait to go back again! Xo
Device was attentive, but our meal was forced upon us as soon as we received our cocktails... not good. Food was great otherwise
Enjoyed celebrating my sons engagement here!! Special table decorations and photo memory.
It was great to take my wife for our anniversary to a quiet location with fantastic food plus it was pretty cool to see Jim Parsons dining with his family that night lol
We didn’t get seated and served our first cocktail until 1 hour past our reservation time.
When my daughter needed a spoon for her soup, the waiter pulled one out of his apron and handed it to her. This is a no-no.
We were a party of 5, and they seated us at a circular table for 8. Not everyone could speak to each other.
Staff was overworked and stressed out. Not something I want to experience in a place where entrees reach $85 without any sides. At those prices, I want the wait staff to be available to observe the table and anticipate needs - not come over to one of my guests and ask if they can clear their plate as they are raising their fork to their mouth, with yet more food on the plate.
I’ve eaten at MB multiple times over ten plus years. This will most likely be my last. Just too a amateur for the price (though the restaurant did offer to make adjustments to the bill).
Z2#hnWe have dined here for many years, and have not been disappointed, until this Christmas Eve. Despite being there 15 minutes earlier than our reservation, we still had to wait a half hour for our table. We were escorted upstairs, only to find that our table was still not ready. We watched the staff scurry to get the clean tablecloth and silverware on our table. We were seated within minutes, and while our waiter was good, the kitchen was not. The sweet potatoe casserole which is normally delicious, was dried out, and even hard to scoop out of the dish. The filet mignon was average, at best, and not the usual melt in your mouth cut that we have had there in the past. Not sure what the problem was, but it was not the same experience that we have had many times in the past.
First time here....bartenders were alittle slow at the bar to get a drink. All food from the appetizers to the deserts was fabulous. Not a quiet place and a little crowded but nice for a dinner out with friends.
