The word ‘Miijidaa’ is from the Ojibway language that loosely translates to “let’s eat”. It's a celebration of our roots, foods, wine + brews; a chance to showcase cuisines that influenced our culinary landscape and to show off our northern bounty.

There are many influences in what has come to define "Canadian" cuisine starting with the First Nations, followed by the influences of the French, English, Vikings, Portuguese and more. Our menu is a modern take on our northern gastronomic history with each cuisine and tradition inspiring the tapestry of our culinary landscape that we hope to celebrate on our menu.

    The service was friendly, the right speed for lunch, and the right level of attention (enough, without interrupting conversation or coming by our table too much or too little.) My food was only OK. I had dinner here once and the food was quite a bit better that time. I'll eat here again, but if it's only as good as this time, then I'll move on to another restaurant; if it's as good as dinner was the last time, then I'll be able to recommend it. Today I can only recommend it conditionally.

    Our server was apologetic and tried their best to rectify food quality problems. Both my partner and I on a date night had food so rock hard the fork bounced off it rather than being able to pick up the items. We were also unable to chew it. Also Iprefer soup that is warm not hot which worked well as the soup was served between tepid and warm. A table with very young boisterous children were seated in an area of couples looking for a date night experience although there were other more public areas

    Went for me and my partner’s anniversary. It was an exceptional time! The food was delicious and the service outstanding. They helped to make our date memorable and special. We will definitely be back again and again

    The group was very pleased with the professional service and the raved that the food was cooked perfectly and was delicious. Apparently one of the group said this was their favourite place to eat at and gets out to enjoy them a few times a month.

    great meal for 5 work colleagues- only issue was the table layout was a bit weird - 4 top with a chair at the end, so felt a bit cramped. otherwise a tasty meal and great wine options.

    We really enjoyed Miijidaa. This was our first time at the cafe/bistro and found the service, food and value for money excellent. Rating as we have given there was a small mess up with one of the guest orders, such that their meal came out quite delayed. The staff recognized this and provided a gift voucher for a subsequent visit.

    Dined at Miijidaa to celebrateca family birthday. We shared 3 appetizers between 6 people, followed by venison smash burger (x2), butternut squash risotto with fried sage & kale chips. The risotta had autumnal flavors textured with chestnuts, offset with a maple gastrique. Pork belly sandwich was "meaty and yummy". Chips and aoili were tasty, just the right portioning. Two wood fired pizzas (feature & chorizo) completed our choices. Peanut butter mousse pie was an indulgent ending, as was the flour less chocolate cake and sticky toffee pudding. Will happily return and highly recommend.

    Great locale for groups. Everything on the menu is intriguing. Don't be shy about trying something new. The servers explain the ingredients and the taste. We were all impressed with our selections and the choices pleased our palettes. From the braised beef cheeks to the sumptuous pumpkin bread, which one diner suggested should also be on the dessert menu. My butternut squash risotto was divine and the roasted chicken was cleaned off the plan. The apple crisp was comforting. Definitely going back and often!

    This was surprise find for us as we were just passing through town. Service was excellent, food spectacular. Very good value as well. Highly recommend stopping in at the bookstore on the way in or on the way out as well.

    Wonderful Saturday lunch. The butternut squash soup is a standout as is the Woolwich goat cheese. So many interesting choices on the menu. The service is lovely - friendly and attentive. A really great experience.

    We had a very good meal at Miijidaa last night. The food was excellent, the service was friendly and very good. Food came quickly and we were well looked after. All and all it was a very pleasant evening out at our favourite local restaurant.

    The menu was very intriguing; I love the experience of unusual flavour combinations. Since it was 15.99 pizza day, that's what we went for. I had the chorizo, which was delicious but spicier than some people might enjoy. My friend had the forager pizza which was unreservedly amazing, unless a person didn't like mushrooms. Coffee was very good. Hopefully I'll get back to Guelph some day to try other, more adventurous combinations.

    No longer fine dining. Over priced wines is the best thing on the menu. Servers are stuck trying to sell food they are not familiar with, they should be. Food served not matching description. We were placed at a table that caused me to block access to tables on either side. Decor has not been updated in at least the past 4 years. This is the best thing Guelph has for fine dining in downtown?

    Waited 15 minutes and stopped a server to ask if our server could come over. Was told she was not our server but "she guessed she could take our order". As an exserver no patience for poor service. Food was very average.

    Really lovely food. Never disappoints. My son is vegan, with a big appetite. He loves going to Miijidaa. I don't usually enjoy salads very much, but I loved the vertical salad I had with the heirloom tomato sandwich.

    Food was delicious. Venison burger and three different pizzas were all exactly as described. Not soggy but with plentiful toppings. Great complex flavour profiles. That’s about where the praise ends. Service was slow. They didn’t enter our order. Offered complimentary fries while we waited. Offered a round of drinks on the house when they finally brought entrees. All of which were on the bill. Good food but I’ll never be back.

    Restaurant was busy with energetic atmosphere but quite loud because of that. Consider some decoration - even fairy lights or some greenery along the full back window wall to the patio - felt cold sitting next to that but it may just have been that the patio looked bleak in November.
