Thank you for visiting Kenichi Izakaya Carbondale. An Izakaya is a type of informal Japanese pub. At sake breweries during the late 18th century, people in Japan began using sake kegs as stools, and snacks were served. This small plate menu was designed to encourage sharing amongst friends and family. Food is prepared in multiple kitchens and arrives as it is ready to ensure freshness. We make most of our menu in-house, from scratch, and use locally sourced ingredients whenever possible.If no reservations are available, please note that we do have walk in apcae at our bar and sushi bar.     I so want to give more stars. The food was very good - so good they we ordered dessert. The bread pudding was doused in Hershey’s syrup. Really? A fat-free solution if low-quality cocoa and sugar. I cannot respect any restaurant that uses Hershey’s syrup. It’s better to put nothing on top than that junk.

    I flew in from Phoenix AZ for the holidays at the very last minute. I was worried about what would be open in this beautiful mountain town having several friends meeting from steamboat and Grand Junction. NONE and none of us were disappointed with ANYTHING. From the bottle of wine too the family style entrees we shared. The ambience was amazing and so was the walk back to the townhouse. 5 stars all the way.
