Fantastic outdoor dining on the UES! The food, wine and service were all outstanding! Their outdoor dining is really well done, plus that had a fun live singer. I highly recommend!

Closed early without notice literally leaving us out oh the cold. Did not answer the phone before we headed over and barely looked up when we knocked and waved at management through the locked glass door. This was not a close one. We arrived early and they had already cleaned out their plywood hot for street side dining. Clearly they had not served any food for at least an hour and a half before our open table reservation. Selfish and callous. I’ll never go back but I will be interested to walk by watching them smiling and pretending they care about their customers when it is convenient for them to be open. Hopefully the owners will read this and check in on their managers behavior.

Living nearby, and walking past often, I always thought that Nello would be one of those UES restaurants that has OK food and drinks for a price that would suggest one of the best in the city. While the prices were high, they definitely matched the quality of the food. We started off with vegetable-focused apps, that were delightful, flavorful, and not too filling. I had the Blass Cod with Miso sauce (I know, not Italian) and it was perfect. The proper preparation and the miso were delicate and accented the fish perfectly. My wife the chicken with prosciutto and asparagus (I think, I'm a bad husband and forget these details every now and then), and she devoured it. We then split the cheesecake and tiramisu for desert - both worth coming back for alone, and the berry topping on the cheesecake just made the dish.

While we were outside, the heat lamps made it feel as if we were inside. The singer that was there to serenade the tables was the perfect exclamation point to the evening.

I'm not giving the experience justice with my writing, and everyone working there was professional and made the experience that much more enjoyable.

Very nice set up outside, everyone was wearing a mask and hand sanitizers were in each table. Their red bears are fun, some even wearing masks :-). Food was good, service was good, even my teenager son was happy, which is not easy to do :-)

It’s just does NOT get any better!!!! Absolutely a top favorite! It’s so fresh and delicious! If you are looking for an amazing special occasion, order the truffle pasta! 😋

Must have changed ownership or something. I dine out 3-4 times a week. By far the biggest WASTE OF MONEY. So many other “high end” places to patron. Trust me save your money. Staff is nice though. But I pay to eat.

Very nice lunch here on Saturday, the food and service were both excellent. The prices are as you would expect for an Upper East Side restaurant, but wouldn't suggest this the right place if you are on a budget! Will definitely return

Manager was extremely rude to us. We were celebrating my wife’s pregnancy and I brought a special wine for me to drink. I asked if they would charge corkage fee and he said yes, US$45. We said ok, sat down on the table and then minutes later he came back and said that we no longer could open our wine bottle, because the rules had changed. I insisted and then he went to check with someone inside. Came back and said “ok, but now it will cost US$90”. Really?? Is this how they treat clients? I told him we should try to sort this out, my wife was pregnant and it was a special occasion for me. He then said “if she is pregnant, you should not have brought wine”. Really?????? We just stood up and left after this. We won’t come back ever again.

The menu is very pricey and in my opinion the food was not really worth it. The seating was outside so you are really close to a building that is for lease. Compared to other Italian restaurants in the area (food and seating) I was not impressed. I had noticed they would have live music which I was excited for however, it was there during our dinner.

Great place for a first date! The pasta was excellent, the drink menu was great and the desert was to die for! My date was impressed :) Also, the service was amazing, very attentive.

They stopped serving before the reservation . It was explained that because of the rules in NYC restaurants stopped serving at 10 pm.

This UES legend never disappoints. Sure, it's very expensive, but there is nothing like it and you invariably see a celebrity or two. Perfect for leisurely dining and people watching. (Think of it as dinner and a show.) The food is lovely and the service is consistently superb.

Our favorite place to dine in NYC. So happy they were able to make up for the loss of space inside by utilizing a large part of the sidewalk. They did an awesome job as always.

Nello’s sidewalk service was by NYC lock-down terms all OK. As expected the food/service was not up to incident standards but they did what they could. Expensive yes/ worth the price ?

one of my most memorable dining experiences during covid 19. so much fun being on madison avenue with great food, great service and seeing sky. Nello did not disappoint.
