    Food great. Service inconsistent - at times excellent and attentive; but at other times long waits; server forgot my wine order - ended up passing as it would have arrived too late to be part of the meal.

    The new Parklet "outdoor" dining areas at Octavia are lovely! Very well-done, great atmosphere, and much less hectic than the indoor space. And the food was just FANTASTIC. We literally would have enjoyed every single item on the menu. We will be back!

    Amazing food and service! Loved the outdoor patio. Must order the sourdough levaine starter and the dark chocolate crème brûlée tart. They also have a great selection of hot tea. Highly, highly recommend. Will definitely be going back there.

    This was our third visit to Octavia and the first post lockdown. I don’t remember the menu being this limited. Too many dishes with green fava beans or peas. Waiter was attentive but confused our order. Best part was the desserts - we tried all three.

    Good ideas, poorly executed. The late season citrus either had tons of seasoning or none. The agnolotti filling was dry. The king salmon was good. Their bread was ready good. Asked if they could accommodate a dairy allergy for the tasting menu, the waitress didn’t check and just said no. Appreciate that this can be quite common, but also been to numerous places where the chef was happy to do this. Really loud environment, but mainly due to the 21st birthday party that they sat next to us. Have no plans to go back.

    We had good food and wine. It was a Mother’s Day celebration and we all had the tasting and wine pairing. We spent a fair amount on this. The waiter barely explained the wines and how they paired with the food. When we asked for coffee we were told we were at our time limit and had to go. Typically your offered coffee with dessert. When spending this much on a meal I do not want to be rushed. The service is the only reason I don’t know think I’ll be going back.

    This was a RIP OFF We ordered the tasting menu for $95--having been told by the waiter chef will make things and suprise us. Well we were surpsired that everything but on dessert came off the menu. And it would have been CHEAPER to order off the menu by at least $10. Second the chef cannot do vegetarian. The vegetarian entree was 8 spears of asparagus with peas--basically a side dish. And when my partner said she was disappointed the chef said "I fulfilled my duty according to the menu." Not exactly service or care.

    The food and service as amazing, one of the best meals we have had in years. The waiter was very knowledgeable helped us select the dishes and paired the wines. Let us not forget the desserts We sat out side so it was a little noisy but quite comfortable and warm

    I think for the prix fix, and the coast of the meal, the experience felt a bit rushed. And while I appreciate the care that goes into the entire experience, there was that still that SF sense of inflexibility and curation that isn't always very welcoming. I also sat next to some industry people and overheard their feedback on some of the food, like the pasta, with the large fava beans and agreed with some of their critiques. Spending almost 400 dollars for 2, I would have thought it would have been a more exceptional dining experience. Loved the first tasters on the prix fix. Unfortunately, this feels more like a one and done than someplace I'd be inclined to go to again. Very different than say the experience of a Gary Danko, which definitely draws you back.

    Starting with the host, everyone was welcoming and attentive. We chose the Chef’s selection and shared a wine tasting. There were four courses and a dessert course. Each was unique, tasted excellent and served with a flourish! I highly recommend this restaurant, it far exceeded expectations for our anniversary dinner!

    Have been many times and usually love the experience. Uni pasta special was so small. Most portions really small. Halibut overdone. Lamb ribletss and bread excellent. Bread always good. A few items were misleading. Artichokes said roasted but we're house pickled. Smoked custard not smokey. Bottom line for 200 I want more than one or two items to stand out.

    Best dining experience I’ve had in SF since COVID. One of the only places that’s properly staffed with amazing front-of-house and cooks, and the ever-changing menu never disappoints. Wine list is great and they have a top notch selection by-the-glass. Overall better than some 2-3 Michelin star places I’ve been.
