Old Hickory Steakhouse
We had a table overlooking the Atrium. Service was wonderful with our courses times perfectly. Mark and others were very attentive with water and drink refills.
The food was delicious, the view was beautiful, and wait staff was very attentive. Overall, a great experience!
Happy was GREAT!
Would definitely return. We had an early dinner so it was quiet and not terribly crowded although there was a large part through and open doorway. The noise from that party did not spillover. The tables are nicely spaced for privacy and conversation. Tomahawk steak for two—on point and sides were perfectly executed. Wine recommendation was appropriate and reasonable priced. Service outstanding from checking in and throughout the entire experience.
Great service and server. Would definitely come back.
Let me start by saying that we are from New Jersey and often eat at the top steakhouses in New York/New Jersey. The manager and our waiter were outstanding. They were both very nice and accommodating to our needs. After that I don’t have much positive to say about the rest of our experience. The restaurant itself was empty so there was no need to be rushed through our dinner but for some reason the appetizers and entrees were brought out in record time!!! We sat down at 7:00 pm and by 7:59 pm they were bringing the check! I never felt so rushed through a meal; especially at an expensive steak house. The food was mediocre at best. My filet was okay but my husband’s lobster was runny and undercooked.
As I mentioned earlier, maybe our standards are at a higher level since we often dine in NYC. I was expecting a nice relaxing dinner and was totally disappointed. I would not return.
Well, I had a table the was moving side to side I couldn’t even put my glass on table because it was moving ,the broccoli I order was cold and cover with to much butter or whatever they put on, but way to much did not eat they were to long hard to even cut.i ask well done I got a blot you steck.them trying to cut stoke table moving bad legs on table I was sitting by the window.them my Birthday I waited more the 30 min. For a cake and after a wild I got like a brownie hard couldn’t cut whith my fork.and had to be careful with table so it didn’t move.them I had to wait for some time to pay.if it was up to me I would got my money back.never again.i try to have a nice diner for my birthday but didn’t happen the table needs to go.and the fish it was a little cold.so no I can’t recommend no one.but I do tell you the steck taste good but I can’t see blood on steck. The broccoli a little hard and to long and to much what ever they put on .i guess it was not my night.
Had an amazing time on my cery first visit. Food was delicious, Customer service outstanding. Perfect location to celebrate a special occasion or Just because.
Wagyu steak was poor quality meat. Had little flavor and was not tender. Service was very good.
Tonight was my fiancée and i's first time ever going to old hickory steakhouse and we both agreed that we will go there again on another date night. Also our waiter Stephen was fantastic will definitely be requesting him again the next time we go.
Food, as always, was delicious. Service fantastic. I just wish, and I did ask, for them in the future to have gentlemen remove their hats in the dining room.
We ordered the tomahawk steak and it was very chewy, greasy and fatty. The corn wasn’t good either. Very expensive for a sub-par steak.
We enjoyed having our 30th Anniversary dinner at Old Hickory. We had the place to ourselves practically. Our Waiter, Marc was very friendly and helpful. Our steaks were Perfect! Everything was
just right for the occasion!
Wonderful restaurant and ambiance - very cozy and calm. My only complaint is the pricing, it’s a bit high- but the food is very good. We have always loved the fresh oysters, and the Tomahawk steak is truly amazing and wonderful presentation. I love the roasted garlic and bone marrow included - and we actually came here after our spa day just to have that steak again! The wedge salad is also wonderful. Our waiter was great and very personable. It is never very crowded and we have enjoyed coming here and hope to try more of their menu! The sunset views are awesome and the hotel itself is lively - but this restaurant takes you into an entirely different atmosphere.
My husband and I truly enjoy date night at Old Hickory.
Steak was good, added lobster tail not good at all. Loved the mushrooms. Good wine. Ordered ice cream and sorbet. Ice Cream was very good but the sorbet had ice and I did point that out to the sever but he was indifferent. Ambience was very nice, good for conversation...nice views,
Burn steak completley ruin the Birthday event. Manager should have compt the entire meal with apology.
First time diners of this wonderful establishment. Besides having the most wonderful ambiance it had the most cordial staff we’ve ever encountered. Service was impeccable. Food was divine. Most tender New York strip steak I’ve ever had the pleasure of eating. Words can’t express how delicious it was. The service was second to none. We were taken care of so well. I would recommend to anyone who’s looking for a wonderful meal and great service in a beautiful setting.
We had made a reservation several days in advance. When we got the restaurant there was almost nobody there and after the receptionist looked at her computer for a few minutes she gave us a table with nobody else around sitting in a hallway! Then another waiter came by and says this didn't make any sense and took us to the end of the restaurant with a view and with more people. Here it was extremely noisy and very hard to communicate. We then ordered dinner.
It became worse. First they serve my wife's first corse without bringing my first course - hers was soupe and mine, after about 10 minutes were oystersr oysters. The oysters were so-so but overpriced. Then came the main dinner. My wife had ordered crabcakes mainly cake and very little crab. Quite a difference from the crab cake we had a small restaurant in town the next night which was all crab and almost nocake, Phony baloney tourdt trap establihent -- Marriot you sould be ashamed of your self!.
I did not feel like having steak so I ordered duckconfit - this was mainly somewhat overcooked.with a little crispy skin. I feel it's the worst confit I have eaten in seven decades.
The glass of water I had was so so certainly not worth $19 a glass !
The service was extremely slow – it took us about an hour and 1/2 just to get through what we had. By this time we were not in the mood to try to desert or who knows what would've come may be by morning!
Overall this is a grossly overrated restaurant, poor food, poor service, and a place to avoid at all cost.
Staff was excellent. Chef was amazing as was our waiter and staff. My husband is vegetarian and the made him and excellent veggie dish with pasta! I was afraid he was only going to eat the bread, cheese and side dishes. EXTREMELY pleased with our service. Thanks!
The food was adequate at best. Not a value at all for the $$$.
The steak was excellent. I would like a larger selection for vegetables.
This place is absolutely amazing!! Our server Andrew absolutely knows his “Stuff”
We had a lovely and delicious meal. The service was outstanding along with a beautiful view of the sunset. Highly recommend!
This was our 39th wedding anniversary dinner and we were brought a champagne toast to celebrate on the house!! Just a lovely gesture! We ate the Best steaks we ever had!! Our waiter was wonderful and very knowledgeable on the steaks, restaurant background and history. The service was great! Took dessert home which was amazing! Will definitely go back and recommend to our friends.
I ordered the NY Strip and was largely disappointed with the favor and toughness.
Excellent service and delicious food.
The resturant is located in a quiet part of Gaylord hotel and very nice inside
Expectations were high....not met. Very expensive, good and service average
Everything was great except my Cod was dry and I told my sister inlay how good it was and her's was also dry. My favorite the wedge salad was awesome and my niece totally enjoyed her French fries,
This was our 2nd time dining at Old Hickory, first time was 9 years ago when the restaurant was busy and lively. The place is huge now and has hardly any people. The food and drinks are way overpriced. The drinks were not great but the food was tasty. Everything on the menus is overpriced and I wont be returning.
Salad would be appropriate with a $50 plus price steak
Service was very good. Its pricey. Crabcakes was very good as well as creme brulee
Was better than I expected. My husband and I stayed at the Gaylord and wanted to go to a restaurant that was close by. Food was excellent. Service was incredible. Very nice dining atmosphere. My husband and I agreed that we would come back even if we weren’t staying at the hotel. Definitely would recommend to family and friends.
The food was highly average (tomahawk steak not worth it....just get a filet and a side). Way overpriced. The place was almost empty and we still couldn't get water glasses and wine refills. The sides were supposed to be family style but there was barely enough in the dishes for two to share. This place needs new management or something. They are trying to be Ruths Chris and are failing. Nothing was really impressive except the view.
My husband and I spent our first anniversary here ! The waiter was amazing, steak was delicious and the setting was outstanding !
My wife and I really like the atmosphere of this place. We arrived around 6:30 for a 7:15 reservation but the place was pretty much empty and we were seated immediately. We requested a window seat. We were given a window seat in an empty room of a brick patio when their were plenty of empty seats (all of them) with a river view. The waiter was nice but anytime we asked about something on the menu he pulled out his cell phone to give us the answer from Wikipedia?? He was attentive but I guess not confident in his answers to menu questions. They have a $90.00 steak on the menu which I asked about. I ordered this just to try a $90.00 steak. It was not worth the money and actually preferred the $50.00 filet my wife had much better. The sides we were told feed 3 to 4 people but that is not the case. I would go with 1.5 people tops. Overall we will eat here again. I definitely will not be getting the $90.00 steak.
The crab cakes were not fresh. They had a slight freezer taste to them. The sauteed spinach was delicious. Filet mignon was not cooked as desired. I could have sent my food back but chose not to because of past experiences with sending food back. Great views, the service was good. Ambiance was great. So, this place may work for others but I wouldn't recommend it and wouldn't go back...at least not for a medium well filet mignon and crab cake. So, not worth the price.
Food and service was amazing!! We had a great time!!
