Food was excellent. Service not so much. Had to wait approx. 45 minutes for our entrees. Had to wait about 15 minutes for a to go dessert to come out of the kitchen. Manager said he was sorry but they got slammed by two parties so the kitchen got backed up. He was apologetic and compted us a free appetizer for next time. Not out problem the staff couldn’t handle the load. Took us an hour and a half to eat. Sad.

Ownership group needs to replace the GM Staff do not work as a team and the structure of service is not designed properly for a dining experience in this price range. Food was as expected but the not worth the price you are paying for a horrible dining environment. I have eaten here before and I was seated realized they had again put me in a small room with the highest noise level even thou my profile asks for a quiet table. When I discussed this with Sean he claimed all tables are equally noisy I had to explain to him I had eaten at other tables their and he needed to realize this small room is their most noisy. Waitress was very nice but had to server tables in multiple rooms and got stuck at a 11 top table in a different room so we got neglected for 20 minutes since nobody would help her. Finally got Sean attention for the check and to box up our leftovers which resulted in immediately check with 2 different people boxing up our food and mixing up different diners food and missing food. Never got the dessert promised. If you want fine dining in Williamsburg with a well run restaurant go to Le Yaca.

This was out second visit to Opus 9 and we had a party of five. We had planned to have drinks before our 7pm reservation but did not realize that in the bar area the tables are set up for diners so we asked if we could use the patio and were welcome to do so even though it appears it technically was not open quite yet. We were invited to start dinner a bit early and that was fine. Food was excellent as was the service. We are regulars at the sister restaurant in Richmond (Hondos) and we like both restaurants.

The steak and lamb were burnt, although they were requested well done they shouldn’t taste burnt and look burnt. The birthday person steak that was left on the plate should have been put in our togo containers and they weren’t, it was thrown away. My seafood plate was cold however I was going to eat it and a manger noticed my facial expression and he asked if it was not hot. He warmed it up although Seafood should never be reheated. Thanks for listening

Mother's Day Sunday dinner for two at 6:30. Not overly busy. Nice welcome and immediate attention from our server. We ordered a bottle of wine and the server recommended an alternative which was very good - an upsell but worth it. We ordered the seafood medley of scallops, shrimp and crab cake with nice side of seasonal vegs. Also the filet mignon and potato au gratin. Excellently prepared, served hot. Desert was the mother's day creme brulee. We are happy with the meal and experience.

Fantastic restaurant. Went for lunch and ordered from the lunch menu which is outstanding. Something for everyone with 12 items under $12. This is first class dining for $12. Had a very good glass of wine for $5:50 as well. Dianne our server was the best, very informative and attentive.

A group of us get together every month for lunch. We say, where should we go? And always end up at OPUS 9. The lunches are great and the choices are many. The food is always very good. And the service is excellent. We always feel welcomed.

Everything was great except dessert. The crème brûlée tasted like it had been made days ago and refrigerated. It was cold and the inside wasn’t custardy smooth. My husband got the cheesecake, which was frozen in the center. Dinner was great, I won’t get dessert there again tho.

We were seated at the time of our reservation. One review referenced a noisy wall and I think they have several noisy walls as one is next to a gym and ours had an ice maker behind it that made noise, not enough to ruin the dinner but a little distracting. The shrimp they serve is the less expensive shrimp that comes from outside the United States. The food was just ok, and our server was a little discombobulated, but he quickly corrected his mistakes.
