What Insiders Are Saying
Ottolenghi is a casual restaurant and deli that serves fresh Middle Eastern-influenced food, pastries and excellent salads.
Always love Ottolenghi food. We went to this Liverpool Street venue for breakfast, as I had a train to catch. My daughter had a delicious looking eggy/avocado type breakfast but my pain au chocolate (because there were no almond croissants available) was very average. It was quiet because it was 10am on Friday morning, good service.
Lovely evening, great food, very different. The staff were very friendly and helpful and we really enjoyed ourselves.
Poor value, & the wine by the glass was limited & simply not very good quality.
We were so looking forward to our first 'Ottoloenghi Experience' and we were not disappointed. The staff were busy, efficient, knowledgeable and friendly. The food was full of flavour and the helpings were generous. The menu was not extensive but that is a good thing. We were tempted by the deserts and when we saw one called Persian Love Cake we couldn't resist as it was our Ruby Anniversary! We were even more delighted when we were presented with the bill and the Love Cake was 'on the house'!
Thank you Ottolenghi Spitalfields for such lovely staff - and food of course!
Delishious flavours, divine wine, down to earth service. Looking forward to next time!
Excellent food and a brilliant atmosphere. Loved the caramelised fennel, and in each dish the flavours managed to be both delicate and yet intense. Great evening!
Just great food! Really interesting tastes and combinations.
Always enjoy having lunch here - the salads are great. The tables of 2 are too close together which can make it difficult to have a private conversation
We came especially from Holland to eat in a restaurant of the famous OttoLenghi. At Home my husband cooks at least two times a month an OttoLenghi recipe and we were curieus how professionals prepare those delightful dishes.
We had an wonderful evening (except for the timeslot of 2 hours).
Very positive were the beautiful rich flavours and colourful dishes. We ate the evening before at Nopi’s very good but Spitalfields was even better.
very friendly service - quick - adequate .
We love OttoLenghi!!
Delicious food with a fabulous and casual ambience.A must do luncheon venue
absolutely wonderful food, what a great evening out with my husband!
Love it. Never disappoints. Love the Palestinian wine. Desserts are feast for eyes.
Another amazing meal at Ottolenghi, great and varied food, love the Mezze style of eating as then you get to try a bit of everything. Good wine list as well and a great atmosphere, service is always great.
a lovely and welcoming place for brunch. excellent staff and quite reasonable for an unusual menu. be brave and try something new.
Love Ottolenghi's food! Weren't in Spittalfields before. Great location!
We got the book “simple” at the end of last year , great book, great recipes! We wanted to try the real thing with our family & were not disappointed!!
We had breakfast here and it was really good. The Dutch baby pancakes were delicious.
We felt that the service was a little sharp in that both our drinks on separate occasions were removed from the table without being empty! Food was great!
I have visited the place 2 years ago, the food experience was much better that time. Manti dish was amazing this time, however the lamb shish was not as good and I have left almost all of it on the plate. Too much fat in meat, hard to cut and chew.
Good wine, friendly service, creative approach, desserts are inspiring and making a great finish for the evening.
We have not followed the advice by the waiter to pick 4-5 dishes for each guest, this is too much anyway and you would pay a lot for leaving food untouched. I recommend picking a starter/salad or hot dish to share for two, and just one hot dish for each guest to taste. Dessert in the end and you are fine and not hungry at all.
A bit expensive for the quality of food we have experienced this time.
White Chocolate & Berry Dessert is great!
Disappointed. Expensive and poor foods.
A really good evening. Staff very helpful and food excellent. Expensive and probably not "worth it" in terms of cold calculating value. But you don't go to this kind of place to count the cost, you go to enjoy it and we really enjoyed ourselves. Strongly recommend.
Perfect really enjoyed our lunch we were well looked after
Outstanding choice of delicious and creative food, great atmosphere and phantastic service.
Yet again, we have been blown away with all the flavours. This restaurant never fails to impress.
I loved the Baladi wine, very different. The service was excellent with knowledgeable staff.
The main courses (fish) were fantastic. We will visit this restaurant again.
really good food
quite expensive so it is or a treat
This is my third visit - the first time was very special in terms of food, service and ambience - if somewhat over-priced. On second and third visits the service was not good - the attitude of waiting staff was off-hand, not warm and friendly. Food-wise, my partner is gluten-free and was disappointed that no gluten-free bread was provided and most of the gluten-free savoury options had chilli which she also can’t eat. When she enquired if one dish could be prepared without chilli she was told that was not possible and she could take the chilli off the vegetables! She attempted to do this rather unsuccessfully and ended up eating some of the hidden chilli which created a stomach upset, clearly not the right restaurant for her and she won’t be eating with you again. Clearly not all restaurants suit everyone, but you guys suggest in your literature that it will be fine for someone with food allergies and in reality it’s not.
Cakes are great here. Lunch menu offers good choice of salads but meat options are also served cold. Service is very good
Highly recommend Ottolenghi. Great service and food.
Our waitress was not polite and quite rude in addressing the table. This was the only negative experience about dining here. Other than that, the food is exquisite!
Excellent food! A lot of vegetarian options and a very good service and hospitality.
Opentable let me book but the restaurant was closed
A buzzy atmosphere. Attentive and friendly service. Ideal menu for a light but filling lunch.
lovely friendly staff a lovely window table for two. excellent food, large portions
Outstanding food. Wish I lived closer to come more often!
As usual, the insurance of a truly innovative and tasty dinner!
Great breakfast. We’ve been here many times but on this occasion it was for breakfast with my brother and his 3 young children. The staff were very accommodating, preparing plain scrambled eggs with bacon rather than the advertised with smoked salmon, and frying eggs for another child. We loved the whipped tofu with harissa and fried halloumi- all gorgeous. Will def go again for breakfast and many thanks to the staff.
Food was outstanding, perfectly balanced flavours. All waiting staff really friendly and very helpful, cared about our every need! Went for a birthday meal and they made her feel very special!
We had an amazing time at Ottlolenghi Spitalfields.
The food was obivously awesome but the real ++++++++++ that made all the difference was the quality of the restaurant team !
We were 2 + 1 baby (11 months old) and when we arrived they booked us a table for 4 and already installed a super comby baby chair, they were super helpful and really baby friendly.
We did not feel like we were bothering them coming in at lunch time with a baby and that was really nice !
A big thank you to this great team (and to the chef, of course because we also enjoyed a lot what was in our plates ;)
My mum and I came here for a festive treat and we were not disappointed. I’ve been a fan of Ottolenghi for a long time and was absolutely delighted with everything at this restaurant. The food was amazing and the service was friendly and attentive.
