The food options on the menu were very limited and not vegan / vegetarian friendly. I would have loved to see more options on the menu particularly given that I was there on dinner time: Given that most of my friends are like me - vegetarian / vegan I would find it difficult to recommend this place to anybody.
Sandwiches fantastic, especially the cranberry and turkey. Cakes and scones also lovely. Yes excellent. Service was a little hot and miss as we had several people serving us at the same time. We had originally asked for the tea journey but then the waiter changed so we had to ask for different tea again. I wonder if it was because we were there towards the end of the afternoon tea at a busy time of year. Overall excellent and would highly recommend. If I was going back I’d be a bit more assertive on the Tea choices and change of server
Excellent, fabulous food, exceeded expectations in quality and quantity. Staff exceptionally friendly and efficient, all crockery, linens etc superb. Beautiful decor and Christmas decorations around hotel and good location for other amenities, would definitely recommend to friends and family and would consider staying at next visit to London.
The Main area wasn’t decorated apart from 1 tree
Hd to pay extra for tea so wasn’t expecting that wasn’t explained it .
So tea for two was 220 which is more than the ritz
Food good and service good wasn’t expecting and extra 27 to be added for tea and have done this in all big hotel in London !
Beautiful setting. Outstanding afternoon tea and service.
Second time of visiting First Christmas visit with my two dear friends I treated x only downside the chandelier above out table had a cross cross cobweb on it x the man said they are cleaned every couple of months and it was cleaned two weeks ago x we found that very numerous
Great service in a beautifully decorated room, amazing sandwiches and tasty cakes
We had a great experience having afternoon tea at the Langham. The service was really great - special shout out to our server Nina who was exceptionally attentive! The food was tasty and the selection of teas was impressive. Would definitely recommend trying the afternoon tea for a special occasion!
A fantastic venue for my mum's 80th birthday. We had a superb time and mum loved it. Thank you.
The best afternoon tea!
Every desert was delicious, the sandwiches were tasty and the service was impeccable.
Thank you for a wonderful afternoon!
Really wonderful afternoon tea experience with my mum and sister. Elegant and refined atmosphere, traditional sandwiches, patisserie selection and delicious scones. Excellent tea offering. yes, it's pricey, but very much worth it as a treat. The room is beautiful and the decorations added to a lovely festive atmosphere and a great start to the Christmas season.
The location is lovely and service was excellent. However, we went for the more expensive version, the Festive High Tea, and were still charged extra for a second pot of tea. Let me repeat that: two paying adults first shared one pot of tea, we were asked if we’d like to try a second kind of tea, and we were charged extra for that - on top of a quite expensive meal. The dessert, both for the kids and the adults, features a lot of waste. Most of the chocolate gimmicks on the plate are decorative, but not really pleasant to eat. The savory parts of the meal were however quite tasty. The experience is worth it for the ambience, but we would not repeat it.
A truly wonderful and memorable experience, with delicious food, friendly, helpful staff. The room setting was amazing as was the rest of the hotel. Once the staff were aware it was our 25th wedding anniversary they pulled out all the stops. Many thanks for this.
It was my first visit to London, and i was looking for authentic afternoon-tea experience.
I came across a you-tube video by 'Joolz guides' recommending 'The Langham hotel' afternoon tea -and made my decision.
It was worth it! perhaps the peak of my London visit.
Unfortunately, Open Table cancelled my reservation in October 2019 and I rebooked via the Hotel direct and thankfully all went exceptionally well.
The whole experience was enjoyed by all 4 of us as the food was very tasty, service very professional and the entertainment from a pianist and trio was of a high level.
It was amazing! Friends from America visited and loved every minute of being there!
We would not recommend a friend to have afternoon tea there not because it wasn't pleasant but we feel there are better places at a similar price. For us the reception was a bit overpowering, no sooner had we arrived but we "pounced on". To be fair others may feel that they were just being very attentive but it left us feeling a bit hurried, that we were not able to fully enjoy our first moments in the hotel. The service at the table was excellent but, as a number of staff were involved, was not as personal as in other hotels of similar standard. We were very impressed with the food itself, certainly not run-of-the-mill and delicious. As often happens we did not finish the cakes and took the remainder with us. Typically we don't finish off what we take away but the cakes from the Langham were so good we didn't have to throw any away.
Some may feel this review is overcritical of the service and would recommend it without reservation. The point is that when you pay these prices you want something close to faultless and to some degree that has to be personal.
Absolutely by far my favourite ever afternoon tea. I have done lots of London ones and this surpassed even my high expectations. Claridges is the only other one that comes close to this. We did the festive tea and it was so perfect. So tasty. Beautiful. They catered for my disabled mum and aunt with ease and grace. Nothing was too much trouble. I will most definitely be back for tea but now I want to stay and use spa too.
Excellent food and service. Love Palm Court would highly recommend
The Palm Court is a stunning setting for afternoon tea, beautifully laid out and the Christmas decorations made it all the more beautiful.
Service is lovely, keen to ensure that we are enjoying ourselves but not felt fussed over.
Beautiful setting. Staff attentive and courteous. Food was good and extra sandwiches were readily available. Great ambience
Lovely birthday treat with a close friend
Our afternoon tea was very nice, although we were disappointed that the plates were put straight in front of us with the food on. I guess we expected the plate stands to be used so that we could choose for ourselves.
Overall a lovely pre-Christmas treat in a beautiful location.
The saloon was really cold because the main entrance of the hotel was just in front of our table and it was a cold day. The main door was opening every 2 minuts and the cold air of outside was terrible.
Warm reception, friendly and efficient service, & delightful food all to the accompaniment of lovely music from the pianist. My wife and I had a wonderful time in sumptuous surroundings.
The service and atmosphere including the room decor was really lovely. I was a little disappointed at the cake selection and found it very strange to be offered the scones last. The sandwiches however were delicious and the take home cake was a lovely touch.
Fabulous food and amazing service. Would highly recommend!!!
superb attention to detail and extremely friendly staff...
We LOVE the PC at Langham! Came last year for holiday tea and this year for dinner. What sets the Langham apart from the rest is the staff. They can be prim, proper, and pretentious if you want. But they can also be warm and funny, and very helpful with good recommendations about the food and drink... Enjoyed the tasting menu, wine, and whiskey, including the jazz group on Friday nights. Will definitely return. Thanks, Mat!
really a lovely evening with attentive service and lovely food. the Jazz was fantastic!
Went for afternoon tea for one, so that I could sit and work. The staff almost ignored me, I pretty much had to ask for everything, but when they did acknowledge me, they were polite.
Sandwiches, scones, cream and jam was fine. The sweets were overly sweet to the point that I couldn’t finish anything.
Incredible afternoon tea, one of the best I’ve been to. I had the vegan menu which was sooo good and extremely tasty! My mum has the usual afternoon tea menu and it blew her away. The staff were expertly trained and couldn’t do enough for you. Incredible experience
This was an amazing, once in a lifetime experience for us. The package and add-ons we selected for our tea service cost quite dearly, but was worth it! The ambiance, especially the live piano music, was so classy. The location was elegant. The staff was welcoming and helpful, not passing judgment if you were not sure what to do. The food was quite delicious and filling!
We had a lovely experience. The food and service is exceptional and the music was lovely and allowed for great conversation.
Afternoon tea at The Langham is one of the best I have had (i’ve been to many places). The staff are very attentive, friendly and very accommodating as I have a seafood allergy. The sandwiches were delicious, lots of filling. The scones & pastries were delightful. Definitely recommend & will come back!
I would recommend the afternoon tea at the Langham, the venue is amazing and the service is impeccable but overall I think there are definitely better afternoon tea in London for that money. Scones were not great, they were so crumbly you couldn’t even try to spread the butter on them, they just collapsed in your hands, really hard to enjoy them. Pastries were nice but too sweet altogether. The waiter was really nice, attentive and professional but I prefer when they serve you everything in the same moment and you can go from savoury to sweet And then top up what you liked most.
Great experience and very the food was quite good.
Excellent, as usual. Delicate and sophisticated though filling after a day shopping or for a date, excellent offer, very nice service, Luxurious (more sophisticated than posh) atmosphere. The dishes looked impressive and Michelin Star level (they are), and tasted as such. Perfect for a Romantic evening with a foodie. Stellar French Red by a small producer...A perfect evening.
And the Happy birthday little cake & mignardises were a VERY nice, unexpected, touch. GO.
Beautiful place to be and very relaxing.
Tea was continuously topped up for you the service was great very polite too. Felt very welcomed what great birthday treat!
