Pub & Kitchen
Our lively and comfortable restaurant features a large wood-lined bar, bustling dining room, and charming sidewalk cafe on a tree-lined street. We also have an intimate private dining room upstairs, available for parties of up to 50 guests.
*Outside tables are seated on a first come first serve policy. Outside table cannot be held with reservations.
I felt that the food has changed in the last little whole. Burgers are different, fries different and the presentation is not as fun
I was very happy with our dinner here. We arrived a bit early for our reservation and bar is a nice place to grab a drink and wait for your table. Food was tasty, reasonably priced, and fun ambiance. Wished they had a few more gluten-free hot dish options. Staff were very attentive. Fun, lively atmosphere overall. Would go again.
Brunch was terrific. Especially the potatoes and bacon that came with my poached eggs. Service was a touch slow but worth waiting for!
Good food. Service was a bit slow.
Although we were seated in a small room with almost nobody else, it did fill up and so the noise level increased to well beyond the "energetic level" that opentable presents instead of "loud". Too many people crowded into spaces with hard, reflective surfaces. My SPL meter showed around 90+ dB.
The food was very good; the service was also. I recommend the ale from West Sussex which is on tap here (Old speckled hen).
This appears to be a neighborhood pub and there is absolutely nothing wrong with that. But it is not a date night option. It's more for the "Cheers" crowd. The noise level is horrific, babies are crying, the TV is blaring, the A/C in the back room is too high. The food is good, nothing fancy. The service is friendly, but the waitress has too many tables.
Great and understanding service by very helpful staff!
I don’t know...used to be better, I think? Needs to be updated and improved. They should be a neighborhood staple but have fallen off big time.
We arrived at 11:30 for brunch, restaurant was not even half full, we waited for over an hour and 15 mins with not even the first course served. And the first course was nothing cooked (salad and breakfast cake). No one refilled our coffee. After asking to speak with the server and then manager, NO ONE apologized. They said they had many food tickets to fill. Isn’t that running a restaurant?? The salad came as lettuce and radishes only when the menu included avocado, sunflower seeds, etc. Again no apology from server and 10 mins later she hastily plopped a new salad dish on the table. As of 1 hour and 45 mins we still did not have our second course and 2 people in our party of 5 had not ordered a course so everyone was starving. We asked for the check to just pay for what we had eaten and they brought the full check for the entire 2nd course and desserts despite us never having received it. I have lived in Philadelphia for 26 years, eat out weekly and have never witnessed anything like this.
When we arrived at the restaurant, our server did not immediately greet us and when she came to our table did not introduce herself or tell us anything about the restaurant. We had to specifically ask her to describe certain meals. Our drinks were almost never refilled, we had coffee and our cups were continuously empty, despite seeing five people on staff. Also, the door to the outside was left open, so at one point there were four flies circling our table which was extremely gross. In total we were at the restaurant for two hours, and waited an average of 30-40 minutes between each course. If this was intentional, the server should have told us, but we were discontent the entire time.
We really enjoyed the food and the experience. The noise level did get quite high but it looks like they have a quieter space in the back. We will ask for that next time!
The menu has gotten a little "smaller", but the what was on offer was interesting and the food was great - have always loved this place
Very good brunch; nice cocktails.
Grilled zucchini bread was a great starter
Bad food. The service was slow but the staff was so nice and apologized! But honestly nothing makes up for food that doesn’t taste good. Esp when its $24+ per entree. Skip this place unless you just want a drink!
We hadn't been to Pub & Kitchen in quite a while and were delighted to find the menu updated and the food - outstanding. In addition - with new updates to decor, a good atmosphere too!
I imagine we will be returning very often from now on!
The drinks we’re delicious. The fries and burger were good. The “heirloom tomato salad” was disgusting. Sliced tomatoes soaked in ranch with croutons on top. Gross.
Had a great time sitting outside with a friend. Great food, excellent drinks, nice waitress.
Menu offered did not have a lot of what was online so we didn’t get to have some things we wanted. Ordered wings honey chipotle but got buffalo. Food was actually good just found the menu very limited as also you should note if meatballs are also pork and not just beef. Put the grilled romaine salad back on the menu! It’s the best salad. Thanks.
Hi Peggy, Thank you so much for the review! So sorry we didn't have the menu items you were looking forward to. We have recently had a change of chef and are in the process of adding lots of new and delicious salads, sandwiches and appetizer to the menu. We hope to have you in again as we are very excited about our new offerings and cant wait for all of our amazing guests to try them out and let us know their thoughts!
Travis is awesome! Great service and food!
Everything was AMAZING! Food was so good, and the service was beyond 5 stars. When we arrived, we really wanted to sit outside and it ended up taking a lot longer than expected but they accommodated our every need and let us order apps and drinks while we waited. We got the cheese plate which was so good I can’t even explain! And the deviled eggs are also great. Both of us got burgers for dinner and Brussel sprouts on the side. The burgers were SO good and so were the brussel sprouts. Their moscow mules were stellar. I 10/10 recommend Pub&Kitchen for a nice summer dinner, especially outside :)
Service was absolutely terrible. Server took ten minutes to greet us, at which point we ordered everything because it was evident she wasn't coming back in a hurry. No mention of specials, no smile and forgot our drink order. It took over an hour for a burger to arrive on a Monday night with only 4 tables being used. It's overpriced and not worth your time. Acoustics are terrible; if you're hoping to speak to your dinner companion, this is not the place to go. Trying to be trendy but can't master the bascis. Your local pub is a better option.
Great food and awesome atmosphere
Food was very good. Service was very slow. Time between initial drinks coming and when our order was taken was too, too long. It was particularly bad because all the area parking is 2 hours...out whole dinner there was 3 hours. Too long.
Food was good, atmosphere was very cool vibe. Service was slow as our waiter seemed to be working outside and inside and would disappear for prolonged period of time. Should be able to get another drink and not have to flag someone down in order to do so.
I had an amazing birthday dinner ! The staff was nice and the food excellent ! I even received my dessert with a candle :)
P&K was a great spot for brunch! We enjoyed the beet salad appetizer, cheddar and ramp omelette, and the burger was fantastic! Highly recommend.
We’ve been coming to P&K since it opened and we’re never disappointed. The menu and specials are refreshed often. The bar cocktails are well crafted and the beer selections usually have a gem or two. Noise can be a problem in the main room with the bar especially early dinners with parents who negotiate with their screaming child instead of taking them out for a walk to settle down. No consideration for other diners. Kids can’t behave...Applebee’s or take out. Anyway, service is exceptional without intruding. Food quality, creativity, portions and value are always worth the trip.
Every thing was great except there was an unruly child melting down at the table behind us and that put a damper on the experience, so we removed ourselves. Appetizers were great and the special pasta was also exceptional.
Food and service we're great! We will be back soon
This is a standard - the food, service, atmosphere - have always been excellent
Menu was interesting. Execution a bit lacking. Some items slightly burned.
My husband and I have been coming here for about 3 years. I was a huge fan of their burger. The French fried onions, whisky sauce and skinny shoe string fries. However, we went this past Saturday and their burger had changed. The burger had regular fried onions, regular fries and dijonaise sauce. I was so disappointed, the burger was just okay. I most likely wouldn’t come back from the burger, and would go somewhere else. We asked the server and she said they change their burger all the time? However, every time I’ve gone it’s been amazing until this past visit.
Great local spot with fun atmosphere and vibe.
So good that you might want to move — just so this place can become your neighborhood place. Never disappoints.
Met with a Hinge date is been texting with for about a week. Ambiance was perfect for a first meet up, and food was amazing too (burger was cooked 👌).
The grilled Romaine lettuce and the Brussels sprouts were very good, as was the service. The major drawback was the noise level, which had all the diners yelling to be heard. As a result, Pub & Kitchen is not a great place for conversation. It would benefit from more sound-absorbing materials on the walls and ceiling.
The food here is always so delicious and creative. It is not the "pub fare" you expect! Our waitress was both incredibly well informed as well as helpful and appropriately personal and engaging.
