A lovely relaxed evening sharing a tasty platter and a bottle of wine. Only a few other distanced couples in, so quite quiet. The music was chilled, a lot of popular songs that sounded like records being played at a slower speed, not unpleasant!
The fact it is on the doorstep is an added bonus.
I went for dinner with my boyfriend and we had a seafood and a meat sharing platter. The food was delicious and fulfilling, great for the price. The stuff wery friendly and helpful. Definitely we will come back
Food was delicious, service is top quality, will definitely be eating here again.
We had a platter each and were totally outfaced as we were not told they were for two, the food was nice but not being advised properly spoilt the meal for us
Lovely garden for outdoor dining and good food.
Menu options limited to platters. Because of this we expected them to be good. I had a meat platter. Extremely disappointing doesn’t do justice. Had to do search for the meat hiding amongst rocket leaves and vegetables. Two small slices of salami, small pieces of smoked chicken (not a full slice), two small pieces (inch square) of beef jerky. £25. No waitress to complain. The sides of chips we’re actually good. But tomato salad side was sun dried tomatoes- given that toms are in season it was just terrible. Total bill £57. We ate it and reluctantly paid and left.
Great ambiance. Highly recommend the outdoor garden for a casual conversational dinner. Scottish seafood sharing platter was delicious. Service could be improved.
The platters were amazing! The food is so good here, will definitely come back. The service is great too the staff are very friendly and helpful. It has a very nice and relaxed atmosphere.
My boyfriend and I got the Scottish platter experience and to say that we were disappointed would be an understatement.
Was incredibly full after the six courses - which is a good sign. The food was delicately prepared and looked beautiful. The wine pairing was not stellar, and the service could use more education on the topic. Otherwise, they did well with courses considering how many covers they had.
Top quality food and service
If you enjoy food as an experience then No. 11 Brasserie is the place to eat.
Quality produce, beautifully presented, and expertly cooked by a kitchen looking to show their skills and please their customers. A menu designed by a chef that takes their job seriously, and who wants to impress.
the atmosphere is quiet/intimate, and the service is professional and discrete.
Having eaten at No. 11 several times now, I have never been disappointed, and this time was arguably the best yet.
good afternoon Allan, We can't thank you enough for your kind words about our service and for taking the time to write this feedback. Your review means a lot to us and makes us realise that we are on the right direction! We hope to see you soon and, again, thank you! Sandra No.11
Had the platter so not much cooking to get excited over. However what we had was nice.
I went for the taster menu that consisted of 6 fantastic courses of food. Expertly put together and flawlessly cooked. Couldn’t be happier with the food and the service.
Great wee find, outside area was well set up.
Food was good, but champagne had to be returned as it was warm. Slightly disappointed.
But did not spoil our evening.
Would certainly return.
Very helpful and friendly staff. We tried "scottish experience" platos: 1. meat plato: some salami and chorizo slices, a few falafel-like haggies bols, dried tomato, mozzarella on rocket salad. £25 ( is it really what is Scottish food about?) 2. Seafood: some slices of salmon, mozzarella, lemon, mussels and clams (shells were good) on the rocket salad £25. Photo attached. These were a kind of starters. Not impressed at all. We had lunch 15:00. Main restaurant. Only 4 guest were there. It is not as fancy as on advert fotos. We inspected the back garden as we have a smart dog, and he often accompanies us. The garden is positioned as dog friendly. However it neither cosy, nor has any atmosphere. Kind of boxes with extremely low ceilings with tables and benches inside.
We have been eating in many nice restaurants in Edinburgh during our stay. Having selected their 6 course tasting menu we wondered if we may have made a mistake as we had already eaten scallops and venison twice during the week. No11’s dishes knocked spots off the others. We have eaten in some lovely restaurants around the world and No 11 is up there. The service and food were excellent and needs recognition. Visit if you can
We had the Sharing Platters for Lunch and a side dish of Triple Cooked chips which was amazing, then we had the Chefs Signature Dessert Which was even more Amazing We all Enjoyed Our Visit to No 11
As foodies who enjoy quality food in a nice environment this was one of our favourite restaurants pre-covid. We returned for the 1st time very excited to have a tasty lunch. There was no a la carte menu and the only option was a miniscule platter (choices - meat /seafood or vegetarian) averaging £15 per platter. The platter was more of a starter course. We were disappointed and left hungry. Not sure we will be returning, but as we used to enjoy dining at this brasserie so much I would like to give it one last chance. Hopefully the management will take on board this feedback - we are not massive eaters but the food on the platter was of miniscule proportions.
Overpriced below average food
Second time and will be back. Menu a bit small but that was understandable as it was lunchtime and quiet. Quality excellent. Interesting wines.
Music volume turned down on request.
We had the taste of Scotland menu. It was delicious and very reasonably priced. Service was outstanding. Lovey evening
The food and service was superb. A good menu choice and the taste was exeptional.
The ervice and the food was excellent would recommend toall
Lovely hotel, food was amazing and staff were very friendly and helpful
We had a really good experience in a quiet elegant location. A really creative and skilful chef and very attentive service in a relaxed environment. Thoroughly recommend, would definitely dine again.
The best dining experience I have ever had. Undoubtedly a combination of fabulously classical surroundings and the most exquisite food I have ever tasted. An absolute feast for all the senses and only enhanced by the fabulous Spanish Maitre D' whose undeniable experience and expertise shone through.
Lovely food - well presented and delicious. Good attentive service too.
I loved it. The food was lovely. Everything tasted divine. Especially the posh chips.
Food was lovely however vegatarian platter was tiny! Was like a starter, had to order chips after it as was still starving. Veg platter not worth the price
The food was nice but from the description that said Scottish tasting experience we thought we were getting better value for money… the tasting platter was really small and we had to get something to eat afterwards.
Dining outside in the thunder and lightning was a lovely experience in their outdoor converted shed.
The staff were utterly amazing and could not have been nicer.
We were offered a change to indoor dining but wished to stay outside. Glad we did. We felt bad as the waitress had to keep coming out in the rain but she never made us feel bad for it.
Food was incredible, presentation was impeccable and the whole experience was delightful. We shall be back.
Excellent attention! The personal is great !!!
The food was fabulous but the waiters seemed a bit flustered.
In one word, fantastic! Our waiter and the restaurant manager were lovely and very knowledgeable
The service was outstanding, very friendly, very helpful, very professional.
We sat outside in the garden and enjoyed the delicious sharing platters which were delicious and plentiful.
Amazing food, friendly staff, well worth a visit. We will definitely visit again
Un ristorante piccolo e accogliente, con un ottimo staff che ci mette tanto a far sentire l’ospite a suo agio. Sia il cibo che il servizio sono eccellenti. Bravi.
Lovely place to dine. Everything was pleasing... the food, the staff, the service, the general surroundings. Everything you want for a special treat without it being too stuffy.
I had been before for an afternoon tea a number of years ago and loved it. Wanted to try it again and wasn't disappointed... it was even better. Will definitely go back again.
We had a lovely lunch outside in the garden. The food was delicious, really good service and ambiance.
