Voted best steaks and most romantic restaurant at the beach.
Day boat scallops, sliced thin, breaded in panko and fried, served with a horseradish cream sauce.
Our server Alex was excellent. My wife had the 1776 Steak which was awesome. I had the 10 oz Filet Mignon which was very good. We split a lettuce wedge was was great. No room for dessert.
1776 is consistently outstanding. Especially during these difficult times gives one an oasis to sit and enjoy a couple of hours of normality.
Best filet. Great baked sweet potatoes. Outstanding wait service by Alex. So glad to be able to once again dine here.
Great place to go for special occasions. Great food and service.
Food was not as good as pre pandemic but cleaning was excellent as was social distancing.
Our server Blake was incredible. In fact everyone that worked Tuesday night was attentive and so nice. The food was absolutely incredible. The lobster was cooked perfectly. The steak was delicious. The baked potatoes were even spot on. We can't wait to come back again!
It was an absolutely perfect evening! Staff was courteous and attentive and the food was delicious. We had flowers sent to our table since it was our anniversary and they were outstanding. Dinner at this restaurant is a wonderful experience. The steaks were tender and cooked to liking. I highly recommend 1776
This was our second time eating here outstanding place all around I will always visit again 👍👍
Our party enjoyed the evening and appreciated how hard the staff worked to maintain social distancing guidelines. Overall, it was a wonderful evening.
The service was excellent. Our waiter. Alex I think, was very attentive. The food was incredible.
This is our go to date night place when we are in town. Food is fantastic! The service is excellent, every single time. Cannot wait to go back!
Wonderful experience. The service was very attentive and the meal was outstanding! We will definitely go back!
Very good food and atmosphere service was pleasant and the value of everything served was very nice. Would recommend for a nice dinner date
Excellent as usual. We tried some different appetizers, and both were very good, the black lobster ravioli in a shrimp sauce, and the baked brie in puff pastry. The 45 day dry aged Kansas City Steak is just incredible. Deep beef flavor, tender, juicy. It's my go-to steak here, and my husband tried it this time too and now he's a convert.
Black ravioli was good with an excellent etouffee type sauce. Scallops were very large and cooked perfectly. Delicious tasting spinach and a smashed sweet potato rounded out the meal. I don't have any idea as to how the chef got the inside of the sweet potato so finely soft. Creme brulee was very creamy with an excellent crust. A bit light on the taste.
Delicious food with great service and ambiance. Nothing not to like.
Consistently delicious are the words that come to mind.
Service is exceptional
Matt is a great mixologist
Can't wait for our next dinner at such a fine establishment
Delmonico steaks were tough and not very tasty. Lobster to die for. Was asked about the meal told them about the steak response oh. We went for the steak but was disappointed.
Everything was perfect for our Father’s Day dinner. We brought my parents here for the first time and raved about much we had enjoyed it & hoped they would too. And they did! Our server Kathy was very pleasant & friendly. Thank you for making our dining out experience a great one!
We went for Fathers Day for the first time. Excellent food & service
Overall, it was a good dinner. I was a bit disappointed in the taste of the steak...or maybe the lack of flavor. They use very little seasoning on the meat when cooked. It was rather bland. However, the sides and dessert were very tasty. So overall, this place could be a 5 for me if I could feel satisfied about the seasoning of the steak.
After reading other reviews and being a steak lover, I expected to be very impressed by "1776". All 3 in our party ordered various cuts of steak and while we thought they were very good they did not rate a 10 for any of us. They were all cooked well, but the flavor was not on point. The Bone-in Ribeye was the best by far! Also ordered the raw oysters and they were good but very small. I would go back but probably not for awhile.
We had a very nice time, however my wife ordered the three “thin sliced” prime rib. It was supposed to be 12 oz and honestly it looked like 8 oz per slice. She asked for them medium and they came red, edge to edge. She sent them back and they returned medium well at best. At that point, she didn’t want us to wait any longer. We had been waiting for 3 months to celebrate our son’s 21st birthday and honestly it was a let down. He and I had been talking about the barrel for months. We were surprised to see it was bone in barrel. He decided, reluctantly, on a different steak. When I said something about the bone in barrel, the waitress told us that was a mistake. We both ordered the barrel. However, the quality was not up to what we had hoped. A lack of flavor was surprising. The Brie lacked items to put the Brie on. A few apple slices, I think I counted 6 thin slices and some grapes were disappointing. Long story short, we were disappointed with the overall meal. The prices are high, but I knew that coming in. The quality however did not match the price. We could have had the same meal at Outback for a third of what we spent.
Overall food was good. Rib-eye & pasta chicken dish were good, while creamed spinach was disappointing.
This was our first time at Steakhouse 1776 and being from NJ, we were down for a visit with our Lewes friends . We went for our 18th wedding anniversary so obviously we wanted good food and romantic ambiance. This restaurant delivered both. My husband and I both had steak which were the prime rib and filet mignon, and both dishes were perfect. The steaks were tender, juicy and melted in your mouth. The drinks, apps and sides we delicious, too. We had amazing service from our server, kathy, who was very attentive and friendly. We went on a recommendation from our Delaware friends, and they "Steered" us in the right direction!
As expected our dinner was excellent, including appetizers and desert. Our table was ready when we got there and the service was great. We did miss having clams, as they weren't on the menu the night we were there.
Excellent food and superior service!
Good very good and desert awesome-had additional one - apple tart 😁
Always Outstanding service and food.
This was a perfect dining experience, while taking into account the corona virus considerations.
Thanks both to management and staff for their dedication to a safe and enjoyable dining experience.
Highly recommend it. However, the website calls for business casual attire. I realize it is located in a beach town, but at these prices we would prefer not seeing some people who look like they just came off of the beach.
This is one of our favorite go to places for date night, nice dining, and great atmosphere. The steaks are always good, wine selection excellent, and good seafood dishes as well. Staff is friendly, gracious, attentive, and great service.
Staff is very focused on providing an excellent dining experience. Food is always excellent. We have never been disappointed,
Glad to be able to eat. Alex was great as usual. Great prime rib and trio.
Nice to visit from NYC where the COVID19 restrictions are still strongly in place. Didn’t quite know what to expect. Sat in the bar area and had a well made Old Fashioned. Oysters Rockefeller were spot on (have them wherever I see them offered / grew up in New Orleans where they were invented at Antoine’s). Steak was perfect and the highlight was getting a bottle of Quintessa for $160. I am a Sommelier and it’s twice that in my market. My server, Matt was great as was the bartender. Both who were genuinely happy to be serving guests.
I was there interviewing and should I be moving there I will be in often!
Never disappointed great good great service highly recommend
As always a night to remember. It was my husband’s birthday and the staff really went above and beyond to make it extra special - and the food was outstanding!!!!
Manager Tom and our server made our dining experience outstanding, and the food was excellent
Great food, amazing ribeye one of the best I’ve had. My only complaint is we are a family of 6 and I over heard the waitress talking about us and she said she was going to add the tip into the bill. The bill was over 400$ if I couldn’t afford the bill I wouldn’t be there.
This was my first dining out since COVID started in March. I expected it to be different. But as usual 1776 has things well in hand. We had a great time. Atmosphere, service and food still excellent.
