This was not the first time here. This is our place to go for special occasions. The food and service is always top notch.

Our 40th Wedding Anniversary.
1776 is our go to for special occasion dinners.
....and any other time we have a taste for the best steak & seafood in a wonderful setting.

I love the relaxed feel of this place – like a comfortable dining room in a friends home. I definitely would return to try more dishes. The steak was amazing and the salad was refreshing. What was nice was a starch and vegetable choice was included.

What added to the experience was live piano music and excellent service. Not the mention the owner visited every table to ensure that our time spent at 1776 met or exceeded our expectations. Always consistent!

The restaurant was wonderful. We were there to celebrate our 10th Anniversary and it did not disappoint. The food was excellent. We were not rushed.

Do not let the outside deceive you. The food, drinks, and service was great.

Second time for me, first for my husband. Better than I remember it. Food was fantastic, drinks were good, but make sure to check your bill as we were overcharged for 2 cocktails. Best cheesecake ever!! Says business casual, so we dressed accordingly however many people in jeans, t-shirts and sneakers, so not necessary. Pricey, but perfect for a celebration dinner.

Outstanding service by Matt in the bar area. Our dinners were delicious & drinks were perfect. Only disappointment was our request for a high top at the bar was over looked on our reservation.

1776 Steakhouse was as good as any high end steakhouse New York or D.C.

There is no better food, ambiance or service in the Rehoboth Beach / Lewes area. We are frequent regulars and will be for life. When the Owner is one of your servers, taking and interest in every aspect of you meal, you know everything will be done right. We were there for a birthday celebration and it couldn't have been more enjoyable.

We have eaten here several times. This was the worst that we have experienced. My wife ordered a drink and after two attempts she chose another drink, unable to keep condiments on the table so you had to ask for everything. Asked for extra butter and was never brought out by the waiter. The Crab cakes looked processed but my wife said they were good and full of lump. My Prime Rib was the best- absolutely no issues with that!
I will still go there just because I know this last time was a fluke but I thought it was a fair review for this time.

Always heard good reviews about 1776. We decided to give it a try. It did not disappoint. It was easy to make reservation online. Friendly and attentive staff. I had the rack of lamb. My husband had the Delmonico steak. Everything was excellent. Perfectly cooked to order. Delicious sides and desserts. We will definitely return!

This was our first visit and found it to be a wonderful experience. The food selection was robust without being overwhelming. Everything we had was excellent - from the portions to the presentation and, especially, the taste. We had an awesome server (Jodi) who made our first visit memorable and eager to return. The 1776 Steak House is a "keeper" for sure.

My husband and I enjoy eating at 1776. The atmosphere is quaint. The wait staff are knowledgeable and friendly. It is especially nice atmosphere when someone is playing on the piano.The food is always delicious, and the steaks had a delightful crunch coating. It was amazing!

Everything we ordered was amazingly delicious! Our waitress was very polite and knowledgeable. We can't wait to go back. Definitely recommend!!!

wonderful meal to celebrate Valentine's Day. It was nice to go to a restaurant that did not have a set menu for the weekend. The beef was outstanding, the shrimp cocktail prepared perfectly. As always - the lobster tail was amazing. This is one of the few places we have ever been to where the lobster tail is consistently cooked just right, served beautifully and satisfying. Dining here is like old school restaurants where you feel special and pampered all while being served a wonderful meal. One of our favorite spots - we will see you again soon!

It was our 30th Valentine's together and 1776 made it one of the best!!!

I had the 1776 steak dinner and it was delicious. Husband had the 10oz filet and he said it melted in his mouth. He had enough left over for a steak sandwich for lunch the next day and it was just as good!

The food and service were excellent. The noise level is usually quiet but this night there was a couple with a screaming baby. Not the restaurant's fault but it did put a damper on the ambience. However, this is our go to place for special occasions. Can't wait till the open up for lunch.

The restaurant is beautiful, lovely ambiance, soft lights, great service, delicious food and the whole experience was fabulous for my birthday!

There is simply no better place to enjoy a meal!

We dined here on Friday night for our anniversary. It's sort of a nondescript location but what they lose in exterior charm they more than make up for in the food and service. Between the steaks (I had the Barrel, she had the NY Strip) and the sides the food was outstanding++ from salad to dessert.

Guys: if you want to impress your date, save your pennies, dress up a bit, and come here. (It's not a ripped jeans sort of place, which is a throwback but trust this Gen Xer - it's okay. You'll forget all about that when you get a couple bites in.)

Girls: If your guy takes you here, he just might be marriage material.

The only other thing I would say to prospective dates is that you can't mumble. It's a bit noisy in there with a reasonably full dining room. A few well-placed curtains (like on the faux windows) or sound-absorbing wall coverings could be helpful.

Overall, we'll make the drive back for my wife's birthday in August. It's not just right down the street from us but it will be worth the hour-plus trip and traffic.

This restaurant maintains consistent quality in both food and service.
The filet was perfectly prepared. This is a friendly restaurant and they are very COVID conscious. Its a great place to get out and be safe.

We always visit here when in town.
Never disappointed, been coming for years now.
44 day dry aged steak is exceptional.
Filets are tender and their filet trio is always a favorite of ours.

A little bit pricey, but worth it. The steak I had was tender and cooked perfectly. Huge bowl of mushrooms to accompany my steak. Excellent beer selection and table service. Only negative was that due to covid, we were seated by the doorway and it was cold during winter. Overall it was an excellent dining experience
