Delight in this wonderful interactive experience, with cakes and indulgent patisseries served from our heritage trolley on a bespoke line of Richard Brendon bone china. For a touch of elegance, enjoy a glass of Laurent-Perrier Brut Champagne in Baccarat Mille Nuits champagne flutes with a nod to the breath-taking Baccarat crystal chandelier overhead.
The service was delightful, very friendly. The tea was lovely but I thought the pastries were a little disappointing. Also there were a number of tables which were too near outside doors and it was very cold. However the staff were very willing to move us . The entire experience was very enjoyable
Best afternoon tea in London
Couldnt fault a thing, best afternoon tea ever experienced!
Devine sandwiches lovely warm scones and cakes to die for
One of the very best London afternoon teas we have had. (We are working our way round the top hotels as a little mission) Also given a delightful ‘doggie box’ as I was unable to eat everything - and then realised there were a couple of additional cakes in there when we got home so thank you very much!
Absolutely stunning! The service from both our wonderful hostess and the resident pianist was superb. Afternoon tea was delicious too but our little group of ladies were made to feel so special. Thank you Corinthia. Couldn’t have been any better!!
Gorgeous hotel, professional staff, beautiful afternoon tea!!!
Beautiful hotel and staff were very good. However, we had booked our table which wasn’t ready on arrival and when it was we were placed in the walkway! I was not impressed with this table or the others in the middle. I think they should be done away with. I found it quite impersonal. The food was ok but nothing outstanding for the price. I was also not impressed with the service charge! I won’t be visiting again.
The best afternoon tea I’ve had, and I’ve had a few!
A wonderful afternoon tea with discrete but attentive staff. A little birthday treat from the hotel added to the occasion. Would definitely book again.
Amazing atmosphere and service
An amazing experience with amazing staff who couldn’t do enough to help. Exquisite hotel. Hope to do visit again soon.
A lovely afternoon tea with knowledgeable and attentive staff. A very attractive restaurant area with a nice atmosphere. The food was very nice, the only criticism we had was the cakes, gone a little too far with the fancyness.
Post Elton John meet & greet and ice skating at Somerset House this was a truly impeccable treat to end our Mom & Daughter couple of days in London!
This was one of the best afternoon tea experiences we have had - thank you! The food, service and setting was great.
Only issue was that my husband had called before our arrival to pay for two glasses of champagne and the server forget to tell us this until we were leaving. We did order champagne, without knowing this, but I believe he paid for Rose champagne, (£24 per glass?) which is considerably more expensive that the upgrade to Champagne Afternoon Tea, which is £10 per person.
Overall, we had a very enjoyable time and would love to return in the future.
An afternoon tea experience in a top London hotel can sometimes be seen as a generic experience but in a different location. Not so at Corinthia where it is clear every aspect has been well thought through. Service was very personal - Rose was friendly and efficient and the piano player came and chatted to us about the hotel when in a break - plus the adopted approach of bringing each course of the tea in turn rather than all arriving at once was a nice change. The bespoke crockery (with plates replaced for each food element) and the baccarat crystal glasses made the experience feel special. The food was excellent with the patisserie a particular standout while additional sandwiches were offered. There was also a large selection of teas and we were encouraged to try more than one during our meal.
as excellemt, the
Where we sat was in walk way . where afternoon tea is served is like a space between two entrances. People walking passed staring it was like a gold fish bowl.
We had a lovely time. The Corinthia is fantastic all year, but especially at Christmas. The menu had just been changed to the Festive one, so there cakes and sandwiches are slightly different , but still wonderful flavours. The scones are so light and melt in your mouth. The staff are so on the ball, and the pianist was just the icing on the cake!!
I treated my Mum to Afternoon tea for her birthday on Saturday. Overall we had a nice time but given its a 5* hotel there was still room for improvement. I'd said at the time of booking that it was my mum's birthday and was told they could do something to acknowledge it but this didn't happen. I'd also said about my dietary requirements but had to say it again. Our coats weren't taken so I had to find someone to hand them to before sitting down. Our server was friendly and polite but perhaps too attentive in that it felt like every 5 or 10 minutes we were being asked if everything was ok and if we needed anything. I know they were trying to be attentive but it was little too much. I think my biggest disappointment was that we were told our table was needed 25 minutes before we were actuually due to finish. We said we had it until 3.45 but at 3.25 we'd been brought the bill and at 3.35 were told the table was needed. So we just felt hurried out which isn't the experience you want for a leisurely afternoon tea.
The food was lovely and they were the best scones Ive had. The ambience is nice and everyone was polite and friendly. But it didn't meet the same service level and experience I had at Claridges.
Fabulous all round but would have preferred to control brew of my tea. It came too weak, the waitress changed it, but would still have liked it stronger.
Otherwise a wonderful experience and would highly recommend. Piano player was lovely.
We were treated by royalty and couldn't really have asked for better service.
My mum who is really struggling to get around at the moment as she waits on a hip replacement was given plenty of help and assistance, which was great.
Food was great and plentiful and we were allowed to take a doggie bag away with us, which always gets extra marks in my book. I hate seeing food go to waste.
Would highly recommend this experience.
I brought my mum here for her birthday after a very hard couple of weeks and I couldn’t have made a better choice. From the moment we stepped into the Corinthia, we were treated with the upmost respect. The afternoon tea room is set in the middle of the entrance hall to the hotel underneath the most lavish chandelier. Staff were incredibly attentive at all times and made us feel special and unique during our time. The food was exquisite and we even got offered more sandwiches after we finished our first round. You definitely get your money’s worth here. The cakes are brought out on a beautiful trolley and our incredible waitress explained what each one was with great detail. All I can say is the cakes were incredible. Beautifully presented and made, it really sealed the deal. During the tea, staff consistently poured us tea and kept checking on the temperature of the tea pot. I had arranged before visiting that it was my mum’s birthday and they didn’t disappoint, bringing out a beautiful plate with a sweet treat and candle. My mum was very taken aback but loved it. Overall it was a superb visit and we loved the whole experience. If I was to say something to change, it would be two things. We came at 1.15 and whilst there was light music, the piano player started as we left about 3ish. It would have been nice to have had that playing throughout our time. Also the doors from the main entrance although closed, when opened would let a cold draft in. An amazing visit and well worth it!
THERE IS NO AFTERNOON TEA PAST 6pm. OPEN TABLE IS ERRONEOUSLY BOOKING TABLES
We were expecting luxury and it surpassed our expectations the quality of everything was outstanding and the service was outstanding i would definately recommend
Be careful not to sit near the doors in winter as otherwise every time it opens a cold breeze hits you. Otherwise, a completely fab afternoon tea!
Very nice. We had a young child with us and they made him very welcome and gave him a fabulous activity pack
Wonderful👌🏾 I will definetivly book an afternoon-tea when i'm back in London. Good food, the service was amazing.
First time ive had afternoon tea in london, my friend has been to many places in london even top hotels but we both were very happy with the experience of the Corinthia hotel. Made to feel at ease and service was excellent. Would definitely recommend to my friends. Thankyou.
Lovely food, excellent service and beautiful surroundings.
The sandwiches were cold from being made earlier in the day and kept in the fridge - other London hotels will make fresh, and as such the quality is much better. The tea menu is also limited by comparison to other locations and is lacking choice. Overall an average and satisfactory afternoon tea, but nothing better than the ordinary.... other than the Bacarrat Champagne flutes which are very nice.
Really lovely Afternoon Tea, delicious cakes and beautiful surroundings - overall it was a wonderful experience for my mums 65th birthday - she loved it!
I was bought a voucher for afternoon tea for two as a birthday gift. The lounge is beautiful and the autumn display was lovely. The sandwiches were cold and the bread slightly damp and soggy. Some of the cakes were bland. If I had not read the T&C saying the table was for 1hr45 I would have wondered why it felt rushed. Would I go again? No. Was the ambience lovely? Yes.
That afternoon tea(in my personal case it was almost 5 o'clock tea and I started feeling a little bit 5 o'clockish long fefore it)was an amazing experience and I would gladly do it over and over again😊😊😊.An exquisite atmosphere produced by a thoroughly thought combination of stunning decor and relaxing live(piano) music couldn't help making a terrific impression on a client. The waiter's(I was served by a helpful and considerate Alessio)presentation of dishes and introducing me to all the stages of this magical ceremony were up to the mark.He kindly answered all of my numerous questions about the ingredients and their names. Moreover,I was never disturbed during making short videos about this wonderful place and this afternoon-tea tradition.I fell in love with the Corinthia and its gorgeous style in everything.Hope to live through this amazing experience over and over again.
P.S.the complementary glass of champagne was a dream come true 😊😊😊
Have been to a few top class hotels for afternoon tea and this one was not as good. The staff were very friendly and there were quite a few of them, not being a tea drinker had to wait some times for a coffee not what I expected and although the chairs and table were lovely we were seated in what I consider a corridor with loads of people walking past on their way to the lifts and my chair was very close to a huge pillar so my view was limited , not good. The best seats were under the absolutely magnificent chandelier but they were set for 4 or more guests and as we were only a two we were seated at the edge of the room, most of the tables in the middle of the room were not used so could not understand why we were seated on the edge of the room, some of the sandwiches were of quite a strong flavour, when I asked for some more was just given 1 , no I won’t be recommending the Corinthian
Very enjoyable. Lovely setting, attentive service, and the piano playing was a nice touch that added to the experience.
Not gluten free friendly at all
The waitress did not know what gluten free options there were
I was very limited and given I had booked in advance and mentioned I needed gluten free options, I expected more of a variety especially because of the price
Excellent afternoon tea! One of my favorite places to go for tea, especially when I have friends or family in town. Service is tops, with very warm and personal service.
Absolutely delightful. My sister and I were thrilled with the service from Claudia and other colleagues. Pianist gently added to the experience. Unhurried, and beautifully done from start to finish.
Delicious food, a lovely atmosphere and superlative service from Giacomo, our waiter.
We enjoyed our experience. Sandwiches and scones were fantastic. The cakes and desserts were ok, not completely to our liking. The service was fantastic, topping up tea whenever they passed. The ambiance and noise level is what let it down the most. As you are seated in what is essentially a foyer, people are passing to and from with cases and bags on a constant basis. It was generally quite noisy because of this, however the beautiful piano playing was a touch of class and well enjoyed by us both.
Service, setting and afternoon tea stunning. highly recommended.
