   Our 1st visit to the North Dallas location. Al's NEVER disappoints when it comes to food & service. Steve, our waitron, executed his role flawlessly. He was timely & informative without being intrusive. His menu knowledge & recommendations were par excellence. For the 1st course, my wife had the shrimp cocktail & I had the steak tartare. The shrimp were huge, fresh, firm & a perfect example of how shrimp are supposed to be. The tartare was my first experience with the dish & I REALLY enjoyed it. Would definitely get it again. We both had the lobster bisque--greatness! For the main course, we split dry-aged ribeye from Local Yocal flanked by the lobster risotto and the French green beans. The steak was AMAZING--cooked perfectly and packed with natural flavor. (SIDE: Steve didn't bat an eye when I asked him for ketchup--It was a joke! LOL). However, I do have to comment on a couple of negatives: 1) Dress code; and, 2) Decorum. 1) Whatever happened to respecting yourself and others? Al has really lowered the bar when it comes to dress code. During our visit, we witnessed an older teenager (15+) with his family wearing a Mickey Mouse t-shirt. We saw a young (20's) couple where SHE was well coifed and dressed while her suitor was sported jeans and a plain white t-shirt. We saw women in yoga pants. There were two older (my age +/-) gentlemen--one wearing a black, long-sleeve t-shirt & the other wearing a camouflaged Adidas track suit. My wife & I were appropriately & commensurately attired (she in a dress, I in a sport coat) & felt the other patrons detracted from this (former ?) venue of high-end dining. 2) When did it become okay for a large party (the track suit dude, black t-shirt dude & friends) to get liquored up & start laughing, yelling & dropping F-bombs (at the top of his voice) in front of women & other diners? We were going to stay for drinks & dessert but left to avoid this rude & invasive party. C'mon, Al, ENFORE YOUR STANDARDS!!!

   I always love AB but my latest experience was not so great. My brunch entree was terrible. It was the Mediterranean frittata. Eggs way over cooked. Hardly any cheese… ridiculous amount of other veggies. Did not meet my expectations of a high end restaurant or the value of the price of the entree. I think you should take this off the menu. Not even any sides included… just bad. My husbands steak salad was as great as was other peoples orders. MIne was just bad.

    Excellent dinner! Started slow with the beef Wellington bites, they weee good but I wouldn’t order them again. The lobster bisque was amazing! Cowboy ribeye had excellent flavor and was cooked perfectly. Filet was done the same. Brussel sprouts and garlic mashed potatoes were on point. The sweet potato garnish was an added bonus. The cheesecake was a great ending to a wonderful meal.

    A true staple for Dallas and they did not disappoint! The service is impeccable and the food is amazing. From the front desk to the table we received nothing be great and personable service. I loved my meal and cannot wait to return.

    Food was great! I would opt to order salmon at med rare rather than medium. Steak was perfect as was everything else. Service was great: shout out to Andrew who went up and above to accommodate our group! We chose to do family style to try many delicious dishes!

    Had a family dinner to celebrate a college graduation. The food was all amazing - presentation and taste of everything was top notch. Waiter was friendly and helpful. Will be back for sure!

    The only reason for the four-star review is because it was extremely warm in the restaurant sitting at a table in the bar area no relief. 🥵 We wanted to stay longer but I was sweating too much killed a buzz had to exit.

    Went with a group for a birthday lunch. I know it’s Texas but I didn’t like the spices in the parmesan chicken. Everything else was good. Someone in our group had the sea bass snd loved it.

    I went off of the mostly good reviews choosing to ignore the bad ones. Well, I should’ve listened. Upon arrival we were seated at an unset table that had only water glasses- ok, they were busy. The server then arrives and suggested an appetizer and glasses of wine, we ordered and she asked for our meal selection. We explained this was our first time, and that we wanted to take some time to enjoy ourselves. She said well our kitchen closes at 9pm (it was 8:22). I said we have some time. The beef Wellington bites cam mostly without beef- just puff pastry. Disappointing. We asked for the lobster thermador, half order- she said it’s the end of the night so they may be able to accommodate- again stating that the kitchen closes at 9pm. It was $90 and Luke warm at best. The filet and buffalo steak were tasty but overpriced. My husband ordered a second glass of wine, she said the bar was closed but she would she if she could pour it herself. Everything was no, no, no… ok I’ll do it attitude. The wine came, it wasn’t the same wine. She said it’s probably bc it’s cold and without asking she dropped the check on the table. Ok, well we’d like the same wine, the same taste. My husband told her to just take it off the check. She said she’s already run it and she would have to just charge us the entire bill again without that glass. Then my husband went to talk to the manager to explain to reverse the 1st charge and charge us correctly or come up with another solution. I used the restroom and at that point I realized we should not have even eaten there- cleaner bathrooms at a Taco Bell. No toilet paper, no soap, trash on the floor, things were dirty and rusty. Really bad call on going to this restaurant. Food was mediocre, service was terrible- we counted 7 times we were told they close at 9pm (our reservation was at 8:15). We were out of there at 10. The manager was incompetent and unhelpful and generally didn’t seem to care about our poor experience. TAKE YOUR MONEY ELSEWHERE!

    It was a special occasion, which was noted both in reservation and over phone and unfortunately the service did not acknowledge that. The person celebrating was disappointed. The food was great.

    A great fine dining experience, impeccable service and excellent food. A great way to spend Mother’s Day. The steaks were locally sourced and such a good quality of beef. If you are a steak lover please give them a try you will not be disappointed. James made sure our night went well…. Great guy!!!

    Went for Mothers Day. AC issues in bar. Asked the manager and he said he would get us moved . I think he forgot so I went to the hostess and she moved us. Mostly everything was good. We dine here a lot so it was up to par for the most part.

    Once again an amazing meal and experience. We celebrated Mother’s Day there, and requested Kara, who is an incredible server. Prime rib was done perfectly, crab cakes were fantastic. A special experience for occasions or just because. The manager James was terrific also. Thank you for being consistently wonderful!

    Andrew and his team are OUTSTANDING! He was attentive. I wish I remembered the name of the gentleman who worked with him to clear the table and deliver the food. He was funny and engaging. Every morsel was delicious! This is our new place for special occasions. Well, our new place when we need a delicious meal! See you soon!

    We went to Al Biernat's for Mother's Day Brunch, everything was excellent! We tried the Shrimp & Grits (highly recommend it), Chilean Sea Bass, and Brioche French Toast. Everything was so flavorful and nicely portioned!
