Amazing atmosphere and food!! One of my favourite places to eat.
Very nice food and reasonably priced, lunch time menu is better value. Service a little slow had to ask for drinks perhaps a little understaffed. Nice location.
Restaurant was fairly busy but we were served very promptly with drinks followed by food order. I ordered Malaysian chicken for main course which I have ordered before at Worsley - it was good but not quite as nice as I remembered. Will try something different next time. Overall it was a very pleasant evening spent with friends.
Food was mediocre but expensive. Took my son for a meal, my sea bass was ok but the bacon in the crushed potatoes was chewy and unpleasant.
Standish is a great lunchtime venue and menu selection.
Much improved from our last visit and far better customer service. Really good and it was busy! Recommended
Quick efficient service, friendly staff, good food maybe slightly smaller portions than other similar establishments visited. But all round a nice lunchtime venue.
Lack of vegetarian options on lunch menu. Had halloumi and falafel salad. 4 tiny falafel and 4 slices of halloumi and small handful of over dressed salad leaves was not good value for money. Lovely setting and very attentive staff made it a pleasant lunch. Not going to rush back unfortunately.
Four of us came for an evening meal on Tuesday 3rd Aug at 19.15pm. We had a welcome greeting on arrival and were asked to sit in the bar until our table was ready. We liked this as it was comfortable and not overcrowded, despite it being busy for a Tuesday. The temperature throughout was good as well, even though it was a warm evening outside.
We had to order our drinks at the bar, but it was unclear whether it was table service or not. There was a sign on the table saying to order the drinks on the app, but we were out for an evening and didn't want to be fussing with downloading the app and work out how to use it. We were brought to our dining table before the drinks arrived, but the waitress did find us to bring them over.
We sat on Andrei's station and he gave us such a warm welcome. The service throughout was brilliant and you could see that he is a professional. A small example of this is when we asked for another knife and he brought it on a plate with napkin, rather just in his hand. We will definitely ask to sit on his station the next time we come. All of the staff we came into contact with were pleasant and polite.
Two of us had 3 courses and 2 had 2 courses. The food was cooked really well and delicious. We all had different items and everything was delicious. My favorite dessert by far was the peach cobbler. How does the chef make the crumble topping so big and crunchy!
It is so good to have a restaurant of this caliber in the area because there are loads of pubs but not many like this. You are made to feel welcome and special and that is worth the money. I love that they use table clothes with clean silver condiments and a table decoration on the table. Their napkins are thicker too, unlike in many other establishments. Its the small things that make the difference.
Although the website says they allow 2.15hrs for a table of 4, we were not hurried and had a wonderful evening. The toilets were clean and well maintained too.
It was an Anniversary meal out tried something new my self wife stayed with an old favourite all food was excellent the place was busy for a Tuesday but is very popular place we both enjoyed the even out, would go again Thanks
Our waiter was incredible. He was so calm and collected and even recommended dishes that were exceptional.
Lovely food and drinks, lots of choice and not over priced, very nice classy atmosphere. Waiting staff where lovely
Enjoyed lunch at Albert’s, meeting up with a college friend after 30 + years. The lunchtime special is good value and we were sitting outside on a lovely sunny day. We did not feel rushed at all and the service was very good.
Seated extremely close to next table shoulders almost touching. I know social distancing no longer compulsory but woul have expected more consideration. Almost 1 hour from being seated to main course arriving staff clearly under huge pressure
The meals were fine but nothing special
Would not be in a hurry to return Overall a disappointing experience
As always friendly service, good food and lovely venue.
Feels like you are on the Mediterranean.
I had the sea bass from the lunch menu, it was nice but I thought the portion was a bit small in comparison with the amount of sweet potato fries. However, the Eton Mess dessert was lovely.
Had a lovely evening, we all had very different meals but enjoyed them all! Service was excellent, attentive without being overbearing and the restaurant is a really nice space.
On arrival staff were very polite and friendly
Table waiter’s were excellent and helpful
Food was very enjoyable but not amazing
Overall we had an enjoyable night and would recommend to family and friends
Great food, great drinks - quality meal overall, if I was being really critical I'd say people are seated too close together (speaking from being sat indoors) - it wasn't necessarily a problem for us but I can imagine this being uncomfortable in some situations!
Staff excellent, starter delicious (Satay Duck)
Rib-Eye perfect but the salad was dressed with totally overpowering garlic and it was icy cold.
Service was great. Overpriced food for what you got but very clean place to dine and lovely set out.
I got the £23 steak. Wasn't cooked to my order preference and definitely not worth £23. Ive had better for much less.
I booked a table for 12 people and 8 initially, later 9, showed up on the day. Despite the terms and conditions saying that no shows MAY be charged £10 I was automatically charged £40 for what I was later told the 4 no shows. After spending £240 on food and drink I find this hard to stomach and it completely ruined an otherwise good experience. Bear this in mind when booking at this place. I, along with my other diners, will never visit Albert’s again after this experience. You have just lost out on many future customers and we will not hesitate to spread the word in Standish.
Entry was great and the seating was quick. The menus were lovely with lots of choice for both adults and children. Our waitress was inexperienced so didn’t offer a great service but it was to the best of her ability. The food came quick and was extremely tasty.
Part way through our meal somebody was sat next to us which was extremely uncomfortable as their was no glass between us only a small panel which meant myself and my little boy were sat as close to them as we are everybody else on our table. We found this extremely uncomfortable and wouldn’t book again at the moment for that reason. Other tables did have glass panels between them and the other table so not sure when these others didn’t. Even the booths had glass panels so not sure why we had to be sat that close.
When we asked for the bill it was just thrown into the table without a cover or an acknowledgement.
Great food shame about lots of other things.
Sorry but I simply did not get Alberts, too close to others not private at all, the tables were way too close! And we were made to wait until our booked time even though I could see lots of empty tables ( we were ten minutes early!)
The food was good but overpriced and the delivery was a little slow?
Would I recommend Alberts simply no!! Unfortunately it’s not for me I’m not a lover of love island but if you are maybe then it’s for you!!!!
Beautiful food, excellent service, music a little loud outside!
Family from Scotland
Food was superb, came specifically for roast dinner. It is a bit on the expensive side, particularly for drinks. Great atmosphere but the table we were on was really close to the one next to us felt a little uncomfortable
The service was very poor indeed - we went for our wedding anniversary waited 45mins between starter and main had to ask for the desert menu. Staff too took up with serving large tables of 6 plus, running up and down forgetting the table of 2 which is just as important to the restaurant! Distance between our table and the next was a little close for my liking.
It will be a long time before we visit again.
Food was cold had to send back, service was slow .. waited for them to come and take drink order half way though our visit.. then asked for the bill then no one came so had to go to the till ourselves and go somewhere else for drinks got sick of waiting
Two trainee server girls were fantastic, a young blonde lady and a young lady with dark hair. Made the whole thing so much more pleasurable. Fantastic vegetarian choices too.
Fantastic food, great atmosphere. It was the first time of going out for a meal for a year ,because of covid and being high risk being a Type 1 diabetic, it all felt fine being on an outside table but I was shocked the staff don’t wear masks or visors to protect themselves as well as the public, I am still wearing a mask and visor in my job.
Will definitely be back. Thank you. X
Excellent food. More expensive than other local restaurants but really enjoyed it
Food was gorgeous as usual , would of ordered more drinks but weren't asked and server's were spread very thin , saw our server once to order and once to pay, wont stop us from visiting every Sunday
Had the full english, bacon and black pudding dry, toast was very hard.
Everything else on the plate was ok.
Coffee was absolutely poor!
Asked for the bill, had to go to the main till as gave up waiting.
Went here on our anniversary yesterday and we love it! We had the best server Elisha, who called a taxi for us many times when we struggled to find one. We’ll be back against
This was our first time. The food was ok. The cheese board is probably the worst one we have had fir £12. Two pieces of cheese and not enough crackers !
No Grapes or anything. The selection was poor.
Won’t rush back sorry.
lovely evening just feel that veg should come standard with every meal! fantastic atmosphere and surprisingly cheap taxi home all in all top top night!!
Just want to say a humongous thank you to Caroline our waitress! She was absolutely amazing! Never ever had a waitress like her, absolutely smashing her job! She’s fab and she really made our experience a fab one! Such a bubbly fun and energetic lady she is :-)
Thank you so much. X
Amazing place! Felt very safe even though the restaurant was busy and bustling. The staff were very attentive and friendly. Food was amazing especially the chocolate and clementine torte!!!
