Excellent food on a beautiful breezy evening outdoors
Overall great meal and service. My party had multiple dietary restrictions and our waitress Kathryn was able to guide us through the menu with what would be gluten and allium free. Thank you to Kathryn and the Amali kitchen for a rear experience. We will be back.
Great staff, food and atmosphere. Thank you !!
Food and service were very good. The place needs some hip music or something to give it a better vibe.
Great atmosphere, great service, and great food. Highly recommend.
Amazing food attentive staff tasting menu with wine pairings was outstanding
We had a delicious early dinner at Amali. The pasta is divine. We have been there before so went back for the pasta- literally tasted like Italy. So savory. We sat outside at a cute table for two and enjoyed delicious wine. It was very hot and the waiter was very kind to bring us many refills of water and glasses of ice. The only noise was next door's outside venue but it was kind of nice. Overall, we love Amali and will be back.
Delicious food, very relaxed and pleasant environment!
This was a fantastic dinner. We did the Wednesday night Jazz. The food was delicious. The servers were wonderful and the Jazz was fantastic. A great date night with my wife.
Overall the food was exquisite. Four stars is because the olive oil cake was so dry and terrible that it soured me on the whole meal. For the level of the rest of the food, it was shockingly bad. Drinks were perfection!! Some of the best I’ve had. Leek dish, Jerusalem artichokes, both excellent. Homemade spaghetti was out of this world good. Another surprise at the end of the meal was a rather high percentage Charge appearing on the bill which i looked up on line and found out was to something to help staff earn a living wage. I support that, but do NOT like being surprised by it. They need to put an explanation on the menu or something. If they did it is not easily noticeable , and so left me with a bitter taste in my mouth, even worse than the cake!
I found the menu a bit limiting but the Branzino for 2 was excellent.
I must say I was really disappointed in the food. The portions for the appetizers were small and mediocre. We had the wild mushroom caponata and the octopus. The service was just so so. The busboy (man) was meticulously cleaning and picking up plates around me while I was still eating.
Friends liked the crudo and oysters. I was unimpressed with the lamb pasta. A weird taste.
For me the best thing was the bread and butter.
Basically I can’t remember ever giving such a negative review, but it was a disappointing meal on a beautiful summer night.
Food was average at best & over priced - would not go back
Service felt a bit rushed.
Had brunch with a party of 6 after a wedding. The food and service was great. Surprisingly bright and airy ambiance for the dining room. It is quite small so can get noisy if if its busy, but would still highly recommend over all the other american/french brunch spots in the area.
The restaurant is pretty, the service was good but the food with the exception of the appetizer ( we share clams) was extremely salty.
We barely touched the 2 main pasta dishes.
We complained and, even though we didn’t asked for it, they credited us for the 2 main dishes.
It was our first time there and maybe they had a bad day
Our first time here - food was delicious and the service wonderful. Will definitely be back!!
Great tasting food, interesting drinks and wonderful service.
Great food! Live music was amazing! Will definitely be back!!
Excellent food. Poor service. Ugly patio. Surprisingly strong cocktails
JenniferF- I'm sorry you did not find us worthy of 5 stars. Service is something we take a lot of pride in. Please come back to give us another try.- James
An OK restaurant for a casual dinner/conversation. A class down from the really strong NYC Italians, but food reliably good and often interesting. Not very expensive either.
Rakak- Thank you for the review. I'm pleased to hear you did not find us overpriced but did enjoy the experience. -James
Amali was fantastic. We had a Saturday night reservation. Outdoor seating was cosy. It's Manhattan so occasional car/people traffic can get noisy but tolerable. Our waiter was great. All of his recommendations were spot on. We enjoyed everything he suggested. We shared the Bronzino for 2. Amazing! Drinks were yummy. Overall we had a great experience and would definitely recommend.
NatalieM- Thank you for the wonderful review. Our servers greatly value each table and I am pleased to hear you felt attended to and that their guidance was spot on. I hope you come back soon. Chef Alex is always adding exciting things to our menu. -James
The food, the staff and environment were amazing. So nice to have some normalcy at such a great place after all this time. We’ll be back!
This was my second visit and the food is delicious. The service is so great and the atmosphere is perfect. So glad I found Amali and will definitely keep coming back.
Kaybee- Thank you for coming back to see us and for the wonderful review. Summer is upon us and Chef Alex is adding new menu items daily. Hope to see you soon! -James
Delicious food in a lovely friendly atmosphere. City traffic does make for a noisy meal but such is life in the city.
Love it there!! Definitely a great place to try for brunch.
Food is absolutely delicious and unique. We did the 6 course tasting menu and it was superb although too much food for me!
The food and atmosphere are very good, and our server was kind, thoughtful, and informative — only drawback was service was slow and we had to ask to order our dinner. Would go again and do recommend it, but go on a night when you have no other plans.
Absolutely delicious food & exceptional service! I would definitely recommend this wonderful restaurant.
Excellent food and service. The Branzino was the best I have eaten anywhere.
The food is good but the prices are very high for what you get. I expect to be truly wowed by a $28 tiny appetizer.
Also the service was slow and it was not even busy.
The food is tasty though and the decor is pretty and the backroom has a nice skylight.
attentive service, outstanding food preparation, fresh (featuring many local NY ) ingredients, never disappoints, menu seems a bit scaled back from pre-covid but there is something for everyone, thank you
So lovely. Highly recommend! The bartender was great and our server was so fun!
Excellent service and food. Wait staff was wonderful
