   I dine out 15 times a month. I never complain about a meal. This is my second complaint in more than 25 years. I live 3 blocks from this place and have eaten there 5 times as its a short walk. It as become progressively worse every time. Yesterdays meal was a terrible experience. I had 8 pm reservations, I was seated at 801 pm and immediately told the kitchen is closing so make your order quick. We tried to order 4 different entrees but they were all out of main dishes. So we had to order appetizers. The appetizers arrived cold, and tiny portions. The Chorizo sausages was cold and burned beyond recognition. The grilled octopus was one small piece no bigger than a finger for $25. In fact, It looked like a finger and not octopus. The short rib empanadas were cold and stale. The lemon-vinegrette salad was very good. So if you are into being abused for a $250 diner for two, this is your place.

   This was my third or fourth visit and while I previously thought the food was good at best, this last visit was exceptional. Every dish was better than the next. Amara has stepped up their game including the service.

   Food was ok but a bit disappointing for the price. Nothing spectacular. The real draw here is the location and people watching. Right on the water with Miami's hot crowd here showing out.

    All was great but the octopus size is hylarious! One leg of it is swerved for almost 30 dólares! Should have at least double for the price! Besides, all great and lovely atmosphere!

    Food, service, and atmosphere were perfect. We sat outside overlooking the water. Was the perfect place to celebrate after our wedding on the beach. We enjoyed veuve clicquot, oysters, cheese puffs, heirloom tomatoes, and the surf and turf. They surprised us with a lovely tres leches cake topped with fresh berries and sparkler for dessert. Highly recommend!

    The food is delicious and a great view. Service was good too. What I did not appreciate was a 2% upcharge for a charity "they" support. With no notification what so ever. I donate and support my own charities and don't appreciate being charged for their choices. I will recommend the restaurant, but will warn my friends about this....

    Outstanding food, view, and service! We sat outside which was a great choice and shared several dishes…the octopus, arroz verde, yucca cheese puffs, and charred asparagus. All were fabulous as was the classic martini. We will recommend for sure.

    I made reservation on OpenTable for brunch for 2 to celebrate my husband’s birthday. I indicated in reservation that it will be his birthday. We ran 30 minutes late and I gave restaurant a call to notify we will be late, the receptionist told me they can’t keep reservation and they will try to accommodate us as a “walk in” and there is always a bar seating available in case they can’t sit us. Upon arrival 80% of restaurant was still available and we were seated just fine, and we didn’t see the bar seating anyhow. They didn’t acknowledge the note in reservation made for “birthday” and I didn’t remind them as we had a pretty amazing celebration a previous night at Jaya at Setai where restaurant not only remembered, but knew our names and brought us a cake and 2 glass of champagne complimentary. Anyhow, the brunch at Amara was nice and very casual- 3 solid stars. The food and ambiance were generally good, especially breakfast tacos and tres leches cake, however nothing special. For 3 breakfast dishes, 4 drinks , coffee and dessert plus service fee we paid $230. In my opinion, it’s overpriced compared to California brunch places with a view, but again- we knew the menu before coming, so it was not unexpected. 🥂

    The manager was lovely and ensured my meal would be gluten free as I have celiac. The appetisers were great but cold. We ordered two mains. I ordered the half chicken and seriously cold. The taste was nice but honestly to be served cold chicken for $40 was unappealing. Our drink orders took an eternity. We enjoyed the ambiance although there were dogs and little kids crying in the area. I would probably come back at a less busy time.

    It was my wedding anniversary, I indicated that on the reservation I made with enough time of anticipation. I was expecting a nice table outdoors, but I got a table in between (inside-outside). I asked the host to change us to a really outside table but they indicated me that all tables there was reserved. So my question is, since I also made a reservation, how can I get one of those tables?. Definitely a bad and expensive experience… LR

    This is not our first time at this restaurant, but it’s the first time we’ve had such a bad experience. We waited 30 minutes for a table even though we had a reservation. Once we were at our table we asked the server for a bottle of Prosecco, he forgot to bring it the first time. He finally brought a bottle and apparently we ordered the last one in the restaurant because when we ordered a second one he stated they ran out, the server did not ask if we wanted something else. The food came out 45 minutes later and it was very ok. Desserts took a long time as well. The rest of the staff was not attentive at all. I do not recommend Amara if you want to have a pleasant time with friends and family.

    Used to go often before pandemic and service would be amazing. However this time was completely different. We had a bottle of wine and they took it to be put on ice, we didn’t see the bottle for another 30 minutes. We were sat in a corner outside and servers barely passed by there. Food was not nearly good as before, was pretty disappointed overall

    This is an amazing waterfront restaurant with a carefully crafted menu that rarely disappoints. Our server was outstanding - friendly and with a genuine interest to providing a great experience for us. We arrive to the restaurant early for a dinner before a concert and the hostess assigned us one of the tables closest to the water. All in, best dinner of 2022 for us, so far! Already looking forward to go back.

    There are too many good restaurants in Miami to tolerate this type of service from a institution such as this. The Hostess where rude and unprofessional, the server was inattentive and lacked basic knowledge of the menu. I came for the food but I won’t be coming back because of the service.

    The ambiance is very nice. It was a very windy day so we sat in the patio rather than by the water. The octopus appetizer was delicious. Had the red snapper for the main dish and it was delicious too. Although it did have jalapeño so next time I will ask them not to include them but the sauce was a curry flavor and it was delicious. Great service too.
